2013 Ford Mustang Cobra Jet

  Review

It was only recently that we received all of the details for the 2012 Ford Mustang Cobra Jet, but spy photographers were still hungry for more so they were out on the hunt yet again. This time, they’ve caught the next generation Cobra Jet, due out in 2013, while it underwent some testing.

Anyone would have to be blind not to notice the giant ram air hood acting liked the flared nostril for the Mustang. Upon second look, one can see massive drag slicks stuffed in the rear wheel wells and special exhaust tips that spurt out their growl just behind the front wheel wells. From this, we can deduce that this new Cobra Jet will be a more powerful model with a sportier and more aggressive appearance.

For 2012, the Cobra Jet features a revised 5.4 liter DOHC supercharged aluminum block engine that delivers a total of 430 HP and is mated to a 3-speed C4 Auto Race transmission. It will be limited to 50 units, each priced at $91,900. We expect the 2013 model to come priced a bit higher, but with a similar limited run. We’ll get the official details as soon as they are released sometime in 2012.

UPDATE 12/02/2011: After seeing the entire 2013 Mustang line-up, Ford Racing parts has announced the official details on the 2013 Mustang Cobra Jet. The model will be limited to only 50 units, with prices starting from $85,490 for the naturally aspirated version and $92,990 for the one equipped with the 2.9 liter Whipple supercharger. Hit the jump to see a full list of the new Cobra Jet features.

2013 Mustang Cobra Jet features:

  • Naturally aspirated – Cobra Jet induction system, CNC ported heads, high lift cams, low-drag accessory drive
  • Supercharged – Ford Racing/Whipple 10-rib 2.9L supercharger, CNC port matched manifold and heads
  • Lightened body assembly optimized for weight distribution
  • Electric power steering – all the steering assist with no parasitic loss
  • Rollcage optimized for rigidity and safety through finite element analysis (FEA)
  • Recaro FIA race seats (pending NHRA approval)
  • Improved brake pedal feel with revised pedal ratio
  • Improved suspension geometry for optimum 60′ times – derived from computer modeling and hundreds of 1/4-mile runs

Definitely, it looks simple and the additional design of that cobra doesn’t made a huge different on it. To be honest, I am not impressed on it and I don;t like it. Peace!

These features of Cobra Jet makes me want to get bitten by a Cobra. LOL. I love the simplicity and classy design of this Ford Mustang, and I am sure that many are waiting for 2013 to arrive.

Cobra features are somehow impressive for me, but when it comes into a muscled vehicle, I would still prefer to have a Chevrolet Camaro for the fact that they could offer more awesome features than this.

I love the graphic design of this Mustang. It looks so cool and aggressive on that. Moreover, I’m glad that it has a nice engine specification which could truly give a great and awesome speed performance on it.

What’s the engine specification of this Cobra jet? Is it on an electric motor? Well, I hope its not. Anyway, I must say that its sleek exterior body paint can truly caught lots of attention but I wonder if it can offer this time a new and interesting feature?

It looks so cool on its sleek body paint, and the graphic design on its exterior is really suited on its name. Good thing as well that it has an impressive and efficient engine.

For some reason, I must say that I’m not so fond with this Ford Mustang Cobra Jet. Anyway, I’m glad that it had an impressive engine specification which I think, only suited for it.

It really looks like a cobra! smiley In spite of having only a simple design, I can say that it still looks so great, and even it is on a matte body paint. It is very appealing for that.

It is a race car, right? Well, I just don’t think either that the engine and horsepower of this one, is just enough and can give a better performance on it, in able to beat its competitor.

For a muscled car, I don’t think that its engine and horsepower are just enough for it, so, I think they should upgrade it more. smiley Anyway, as for the looks of it, I can say that it is not really impressive.
