Starting with an already capable 2014 F-150 FX4 Crew Cab, Skyjacker installed its massive six-inch lift and threw a set of BFGoodrich Mud Terrain T/A KM2 tires under it. The FX4’s standard four-wheel drive and electronic-locking rear differential keep the meaty BFGs turning when the going gets muddy.
Stout front and rear bumpers from Fab Fours Inc. protect the bodywork, and house a heavy-duty winch and LED light bar up front and a receiver hitch out back. Built-in steel recovery points make it easy to attach D-ring shackles for pulling lesser trucks out of sticky situations.
The F-150’s bed includes a lockable double-drawer storage unit from TruckVault for keeping gear safe and dry. Up top, a roof rack provides extra space for items and holds a second LED light bar. Custom graphics complete the tough-truck look, while rock rail steps make it easier for kids and girlfriends to hop inside.

The F-150 has been America’s truck for about as long an anyone’s been keeping track. For 2014, the F-150 maintains that reputation with more cab, bed, engine, drivetrain, and available options than comprehensible.
Powered by either a 3.7-liter V-6; a 5.0-liter V-8; a 6.2-liter V-8; or the high-tech 3.5-liter, twin-turbo EcoBoost V-6, the F-150 can achieve up to 23 mpg highway (3.7-liter) and pull up to 11,300 pounds (3.5-liter EcoBoost and 6.2-liter V-8)
Perhaps one of Ford’s biggest hits of late is the F-150 Raptor with its Fox Racing suspension, big tires, and strong 6.2-liter V-8. Pricing for a base F-150 starts at $24,215 and climbs steeply to over $55,000 for the Limited trim.
