A lot of Ford's->ke31 SEMA->ke216-bound vehicles come with their share of aesthetic and performance upgrades. But you can argue that none come with the kind of visual appeal as the Ford Focus ST that was worked on by Universal Technical Institute.

Thanks to some help from the folks over at Axalta, UTI's decision to dress up this Focus ST with a vintage Gulf Racing livery speaks to our inner racing enthusiast. There's something about that recognizable blue and orange livery that just tugs at our strings and its no different then than it is now.

Moving past the Gulf Racing colors, the UTI team also sought the help of Neil Tjin of Tjin Edition to create and design the Focus ST's exterior look. Once that was taken cared of, the car's body kit was built by DTM Autobody while the 19-inch deep-concave Forgestar wheels were also added into the car, creating a more track-oriented look that adds more appeal to the sports hatchback's already impressive looks.

Under the hood of this UTI-tuned Focus->ke440 ST, an intercooler kit was installed by Vortech Superchargers with Motiv Concepts taking care of the high-flow catalytic converter. Taken together, this Focus ST sees a significant power boost, although the official numbers have yet to be announced.

Either way, this Focus ST is really one for the books. That's how much love we have for that Gulf Racing livery.

2014 Ford Focus ST

The Ford Focus ST is a true performer on four wheels, capable of incredible power out of its hood to go with a design language that really sets it apart from other Focus variants. The deep body kit, redesigned bumpers and fascias, a big wheel package, a vented rear spoiler and the rear exhaust pipe are a big part of the sports hatch’s design. But none are more distinctive than the ST-exclusive nose design that sets the performance model apart from base five-door and sedan Focus models.

Under its hood, the Focus ST is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that delivers 252 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque, allowing the sports hatch to hit 0-60 mph in 5.9 seconds to go with a top speed of 155 mph.
