The 2013 SEMA->ke216 show getting closer, more details on the cars to be displayed in Las Vegas.

Today, aerodynamics specialists APR Performance revealed the first details on a new wide body kit it developed for a 2013 Ford Mustang GT. We're not huge fans of wide body kits on muscle cars, especially the Mustang, but we'll entertain the idea.

This kit includes 10 new pieces, that will widen the `Stang GT by 50 mm (1.96 inches) on each side. Widening isn't all this kit is about, as it also comes with a range of track-proven carbon fiber parts, including: a front splitter, a massive GT-250 wing, a rear diffuser and a parts bin chock-full of parts from other manufacturers.

This parts bin is what piques out interest the most, as it includes a nice list of performance parts. The big boy of the bunch is a ProCharger centrifugal supercharger system that will likely push the Mustang->ke428 near the 600-horsepower mark. A MagnaFlow exhaust system also chimes in to add a nasty rumble to the 5.0-liter, V-8 powerplant.

Helping keep the Mustang in check is a KW coil-over suspension system, a set of custom wheels and a set of Stoptech brakes. On the inside, a set of Sparco racing seats help keep the driver in place when tackling the twist.

Meh, we can live without the body kit, but the performance goodies definitely add some extra "Go" to all of the show that this gaudy kit exudes.

We'll bring you more when APR releases all of the information.

Ford Mustang

Ford revised the Mustang lineup for the 2013 model year with the addition of a more aggressive design with a more prominent grille, a new hood and new LED signature lighting.

The 2013 Mustang GT is powered by a 5.0-liter engine that delivers a total of 420 horsepower -- an increase of eight horsepower over the previous year. The engine can be mated to an optional six-speed, SelectShift Automatic transmission that offers the driver a choice between fully automatic operation and manual control.

The Mustang GT is priced from $30,900.
