We are all for wild concepts and crazy customs, but this one is a little much for us. As crazy as this title might sound, it is true; we (reportedly) will indeed see a Shelby GT500 sporting a shooting brake->ke143 tail in the near future. Don't go checking your calendars, folks, it's not April 1st...

The idea belongs to Strand Craft -- a U.S. based company that build super yachts and is still working out the kinks in its own supercar lineup. The company claims to be working on a Shelby GT500 that is will transform into sport wagon. Depending on the final product, this could be the ultimate muscle car or a car so ugly that even the Pontiac Aztek would turn away in disgust.

Strand Craft promises to release the final product in April 2014, and the yacht builder claims that this is more than just some fancy body work. Under its hood, the GT500 Wagon will keep the supercharged 5.8-liter, V-8 engine from its donor car, but Strand Craft will tune it to 850 horsepower -- an increase of 188 horsepower over the base model. This power will reportedly sprint the muscle wagon to 60 mph in just 3.3 seconds.

The interior will come fitted with Recaro seats, tons of leather and an eardrum-punishing, 1,000-Watt, seven-channel audio system by McIntosh.

Note: the car you see in the above photo is an artists rendering, not the actual GT500->ke428 Wagon.

Ford Mustang Shelby GT500

The current-gen Shelby GT500 was unveiled at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show, and it's currently the most powerful and fastest Mustang ever built. It is motivated by a supercharged, 5.8-liter, V-8 engine that delivers a total of 662 horsepower. With this incredible output, the GT500 can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds and up to a top speed of 190 mph.

The GT500 is priced from $54,200, but if you want to add the SVT Performance Package, it jumps up by another $3,495.
