2015 Ford Mustang SVO

Rising fuel costs are something that is on the mind of almost every American on any given day. Whether you are deciding on a new car to buy or just filling up your daily driver, the exorbitant prices at the pump can leave you feeling worked and penniless. The last time this type of crisis swept the States,Ford was working on and producing a muscle car that would provide drivers with a rush of power while also being a little friendlier at the pump: the Mustang SVO. And at a time when gas prices are on the rise yet again, Ford is going back to this oldie but goodie to get the same results.

Ford chairman, Bill Ford Jr., was giving a talk at Princeton when he was asked if the Ecoboost engine line would make its way to the Mustang. The answer was an easy yes, but no detailed information was given at the time. People thought it be a 3.5-liter V6 twin-turbo engine or possibly a 2-liter four-cylinder. Now we can confirm that an EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder will be offered for the Mustang line-up starting 2015.

The engine will first be offered in the 2013 Ford Taurus in a 2.0 liter displacement, but it will grow to 2.3 liters for the Mustang and will have a different cylinder head configuration.

Next to this engine, the next generation Mustang line-up will also include a 2.7-liter turbocharged V-6 that will be offered for both front-wheel and rear-wheel drive cars (Edge, Mustang, and Fusion sedan) and a 5.0-liter Coyote that might receive direct-injection technology, which could improve fuel economy. A turbocharged version of this engine was also taken under consideration, but don’t plan on seeing one in a Mustang model anytime soon.

Hit the jump for a little history on the Mustang SVO.

The last time we saw a turbocharged Mustang was in the limited edition SVO built from 1984 to 1986. At that time, it was the fastest and the most expensive Mustang in the line-up, while also complying with the new Federal emissions regulations. It was powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder engine with an output of 175 HP, and then 205 HP for the revised model. The car was capable of hitting a top speed of 134 mph. This was the car that brought the Mustang back after style and oil crises deemed it unworthy for the commute. And now, Ford is reviving the turbocharged engine with the hopes of providing the same results.

However, looking at the figure performance of this car its less powerful compare to the other production of Mustang. Anyway, it looks like a Subaru vehicle because on its air intake.

Is that already the final outlook of this Ford Mustang SVO? If it really is, I must say that it is the simplest Mustang car that I saw today. Anyway, I am hoping that the engine that it had is only enough for this one.

Well, I guess no more will say that kind of stuff. Actually, its kind of funny that Ford still have a lot to offer for this car thought its already to be called a vintage car.

Now, who said that Mustang car needs to be killed and replaced a newer production car? Well, although this car uses an outdated engine still I’m glad with the power output of this car.

Hmm, this one actually looks rather good. The whole car has this executive feel to it, especially with the black color, which is in itself, very unique considering that its a Mustang.

Yeah, but looking back on how successful is the Mustang. Well, I don’t think it can’t
be consider as one of the most sporty muscle car made by Ford!

Well, looking at the car, it has a lot appeal for a muscle car. However, i don’t think that it s enough to to have a sporty car but offering a better fuel economy is a great deal as well.

Well, I know FORD is very famous in the car industry. And these 2015, Mustang SVO will be their latest model of Mustang. Hopefully like their other models, this will offers the best of performance as well.

hmm. I think its power output is similar with the SUV.I wonder of this car has the same problem with a typical muscle car. I bet corner is its great opponent.

It has a different look for a typical muscle car. However, looking at the figure performance of this car its less powerful compare to the other production of Mustang.

That’s a great news. Mustangs are known to be quite the gas guzzlers, so this would be a lot of help. Now I wonder what the purits will say.

Yeah, right, as if the thirst for the beloved Mustang wasn’t fulfilled by the Ford, and now they make a new model smiley

Yeah, same here..So why does the SVO, comeback recently..i have read that its last production was on 1980’s.

Sorry for my ignorance but this is the first time that i heard about the SVO. And its was so amazing to know that this is the fastest Mustang..
