Ford will unveil the 2010 Mustang this November at the Los Angeles Auto Show and not at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show as previously rumored.
Ford revealed the first "official" spy shots and video of the 2010 Mustang last week when the car made an appearance at Road America in Wisconsin.
Stay tuned for more details.
It’s a one of a kind muscle car, and its built by the factory. Usually these kinds of cars don’t get into enthusiast hands, but Ford built this one to raise money for charity. It’s called the Mustang AV8R, and it is built with an airplane in mind. It will be featured this August at the AirVenture Oshkosh event in Michigan, and then later sold through auction. Proceeds from the sale will benefit the Gathering of Eagles fund, which supports aviation education and preservation.
The car stated life as a 2009 Mustang GT with options including a glass roof, which is a new option on Mustangs this year; special front and rear fascias; integrated spoiler; and Shelby GT500 wheels. Ford Racing then added a handling pack (dampers, lowering springs, anti-roll bar kit and strut tower brace), supercharger and tuned exhaust that will generate 400 horsepower from the aluminum block 4.6-liter, 24-valve V-8 engine. The one of a kind touches include Satin Silver matte paint with Black Gloss accents, "bomber jacket" distressed leather inserts, and an area where notable aviation legends and enthusiasts can sign the car. According to Ford, potential signers may include Chuck Yeager, Jack Roush, Harrison Ford, John Travolta, Morgan Freeman, Edsel B. Ford II and Jim Lovell.
It’s only fitting that the Mustang is associated with an airplane charity. According to Lee Iacocca, who is considered the father of the Mustang, although the name “Mustang” was chosen out of a list of animal names for the original production car, one of the concept cars that was the basis for the production version was named after the P-51 Mustang airplane from World War II.

Ford sees its future in small cars, but it won’t have to reach far to get them. It seems that the blue oval is considering converting some truck plants to begin producing cars with better fuel efficiency. While this means spending cash to re-tool manufacturing facilities, the investment will not be as great because much of the engineering has already been worked out as these cars are already on the road in Europe. Ford is keeping quiet about which cars may make the move, but creditable rumors indicate that one car being considered is the Mondeo(pictured above). Ford is not expected to make an official comment on the full plan until after it releases an earnings report on Thursday.
Ford has tried in the past to get U.S. to drive European Fords. In the 70s Ford imported the little Fiesta and sporty Capri, in the 80s it created the Merkur brand to sell European offerings, and in the 90s the Ford Contour/Mercury Mystique was a copy of Mondeo. These cars never found a clear audience on these shores. Even the Mondeo, which is a bestseller in Europe, was seen as too small to be an effective family car when it was first here. Ford’s best success story for a popular car on both sides of the pond, so far, has been the Focus.
But that may also be in part because the U.S. and U.K. versions are two very different drives.
The good news for drivers is that Ford’s European offerings are known to be a lot more responsive and fun to drive. Top Gear (TV) even named the current Mondeo as one of their cars of the year.

Ford revealed at the British Motor Show the new 76.3mpg Fiesta ECOnetic – Britain’s greenest family car with CO2 emissions of 98g/km. The car will go on sale at the end of the year at a price of £11,845 for the three-door version and £12,445 for the five-door version.
The Fiesta ECOnetic becomes the most fuel efficient new five-seater family car in the UK. With CO2 emissions at under 100g/km, Ford Fiesta ECOnetic is zero rated both for road tax (Vehicle Excise Duty) and for the ’showroom tax’ element of VED introduced for the first year of ownership in this year’s Budget.
The car features: aerodynamic rear air deflectors, lowered suspension, optimised rolling resistance tyres (175/65R14) and low friction oil, green shift indicator light, modified engine calibration, transmission final drive ratio changed from 3.37 to 3.05.

The Fiesta is already a very successful model on the European market, and with the launch of a convertible version Ford will give a lot of head aches to models like Peugeot 206 CC.
According to Auto Express a Fiesta convertible will be launched in 18 months’ time and will take inspiration from the Fiat 500 Cabriolet.
The open-top version of the fiesta will have a fabric roof that will help keep weight gain to a minimum and mean performance, emissions and economy aren’t hampered.
The Fiesta Convertible will keep the current model’s engine line-up. More details will follow. Stay tuned!
Ford has not been doing well lately in its home territory. Ford North American sales have been declining for years and brands like Land Rover, Aston Martin and Jaguar have already been sold to generate money but did it work?
It is not working because Ford is not offering its customer what it really wants; rather it is offering them what Ford wants
Ford has been seeing a huge sales profit in the European and Asian markets but not in its own soil for many reasons, and it might not see a profit for a long time.
Ford has been producing great cars in Europe. They have been selling the Mondeo model for a long time and it is the bread and butter for the Ford Company’s European division. Ford has been producing competitive products to compete with it is European rivals for decades and they have been very successful for many reasons; more fuel efficient cars with a high mileage since gas prices always been high in Europe compared to US, engines are much smaller over in Europe than here so then why cant Ford do same in America.
Ford has been playing the three monkeys in the US and it has always assumed that gas prices will stay low and Americans will never give up their big SUV and pick up trucks for a small fuel efficient vehicles, but they got it wrong and never learned that history repeats itself. During 70’s gas prices were high and many people in America started to buy Toyota and Honda since than imports cars gained a reputation for being reliable and fuel efficient over their domestic rivals.
Ford has nobody but blame itself, they have the resources and knowledge to avoid huge loses in the US market but it didn’t because they didn’t listen to their management team. If Ford ever asked its European division managers to come up with a plan to improve it’s car in the American market I am sure they could have come up with a better plan to avoid low product sales and stay as a number two auto maker in the world stage.
I don’t think it is too late for Ford it can still bounce back and keep Henry Ford’s dreams alive for decades to come.

Ford unveiled a new technology: "smart intersection" a key step toward leveraging GPS technology and wireless infrastructure-to-vehicle communications to reduce traffic accidents and ease congestion.
The smart intersection, established near Ford’s Research & Innovation Center in Dearborn, communicates with specially equipped test vehicles to warn drivers of potentially dangerous traffic situations, such as when a vehicle is about to run through a red light. The intersection is outfitted with technology that can monitor traffic signal status, GPS data and digital maps to assess potential hazards, and then transmit the information to vehicles.
Once the in-vehicle computer receives data indicating a potential hazard, it can instantly warn drivers through visual and audio alerts.

A Ford that can compete with the Audi R8 and other models like it? Why not! A real sports car at a reasonable price is something that, you have to admit, you’ll be a real success on the market. And if it will look like this we can assure you that success will be for real!
This rendering was made by Stefan Linsert who took its inspiration from the Ford FG FPV Falcon.
We can only hope Ford will sometime produce something like this! Fingers crossed!
Ford is working on a four-door coupe version of its successful Mondeo. It will be a sportier car, that will compete with cars like Volkswagen Passat CC and Mercedes CLS. The car is expected to go on sale in 2012.
The coupe version will be unveiled after the sedan will receive its facelift in 2010.
The Mondeo Coupe will feature frameless side windows, vertical air vents behind the front wheels, finned C-pillars, translucent 3D tail lights, adjustable seats and the new black panel MMI touchscreen interface.
Of course the coupe will be much more expensive than the regular sedan, but for those money you will receive better technology: a start-stop system that will help reducing consumption and emissions, adaptive cruise control that can recognize speed limits, park system and many other goodies.
Under the hood Ford will place the best engines currently found in the Mondeo: the 175bhp 2.2-litre diesel from the Titanium X Sport model and a turbocharged 217bhp 2.5-litre petrol five-cylinder. The engine will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission, but an option Ford will also offer the new Powershift double-clutch gearbox.
Prices are expected to be in the $50.000 range.
pickuptrucks.com is reporting that Ford is seriously considering putting a turbo four into their F-150 truck. Wait, there’s a reason why. The new CAFE regulations require light trucks, like the F-150, to average 28.6 MPG by 2015. And the alleged turbo four is the same EcoBoost unit that was rumored to find its way into the Mustang as well. It should also be an option for the rumored F-100 small pickup. Displacement numbers are expected to be in the 2.5 liter range, and should produce more than 260 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque.
While this is all hearsay at the moment, what is known is that the EcoBoost V6 will be used in the F-150 starting in 2010. All EcoBoost motors will feature direct injection to improve fuel economy. Better fuel economy should mean better standing in Cafe regulations.
