The 2010MY Exige S made its world debut today at the Geneva Motor Show. The sportscar comes with a newly designed front end, a new rear wing and improved fuel economy.
The Exige S is being offered in a choice of three different packs: Touring, Sport and Performance. For the last one the power is raised to 239 hp at 8000 rpm courtesy of a Magnuson/Eaton M62 supercharger, new faster flowing injectors and higher torque clutch system and an upsized roof scoop to feed more air to the supercharger intercooler system.
The Exige S makes the 0 – 100 km/h sprint in 4.77 secs, but in the same time has a fuel economy of 33.2 mpg.

Next to the 599XX, Ferrari also presented today in Geneva the Handling GT Evoluzione (HGTE) package for the 599 GTB Fiorano. The package delivers a sportier look and improves the car’s driving dynamics.
The package includes a modified set-up with stiffer springs and rear anti-roll bar as well as new calibration settings for the magnetorheological shock absorbers when the manettino is at its sportier settings. The ride height has also been lowered which in turn lowers the car’s centre of gravity. This combined with the new set-up helps improve body control. The package also includes specifically optimized tires featuring a compound that offers even better grip.
The car’s sporty look is completed by carbon-fibre widely used in the latter, 20" split-rim wheels, a matte black rear diffuser, and a combination of black Alcantara and carbon fiber on the interior.

An AWD crossover with a motorcycle-inspired interior; this is how Qazana can be resume in just a few words. According to NIssan, Qazana is not just a concept car, it is also study into how a small car of the future could look.
At a first look Qazana is a two-door coupe, it also has a further pair of rear-hinged half doors to ease access to the rear compartment. One notable feature of the roof-line is the virtually straight cant rail above the doors which adds further to the strength of the profile. The roof itself has a pair of thin glass inserts running the full length of the roof which allow slithers of natural light into the cabin.
The front is dominated by four headlamps. Two lower circular lamps set within the bumper contrast with a pair of daylight running strips mounted high on the wings on either side of the bonnet: the look is of a rally car preparing for a night stage.
The shape of the center console and armrest has been inspired by the fuel tank and seat of a sports motorcycle. The dashboard is dominated by a centrally mounted screen. As well as doubling as a navigation display, it will deliver vital information relating to Nissan’s next generation fully electronic ALL MODE four-wheel drive with torque vectoring system and other advanced technical processes found on board, including integrated communications systems.

3.3 liters/100 km and a CO2 emission of only 87 g/km - this is how we can resume the specifications of the most fuel efficient five-seater in the world. Although only revealed as a concept at the Geneva Motor Show, the Polo BlueMotion will go into production in February 2010.
The 1,080 kg concept is powered by a brand new 1.2 liter TDI with common rail injection engine that delivers 75 hp. Volkswagen is calling upon an entire array of efficiency measures, including an aerodynamic package for the body that is lowered by 10 millimeters (including modified front end), an aerodynamically optimized underbody and low rolling resistance tires on 15-inch alloy wheels.

Ferrari had the Enzo-based FXX, now it has the Fiorano-based 599XX - but the essence on both car is the same: designed for exclusive clientele and used for testing racing technology.
The 599’s engine now delivers 700 hp at 9,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a new gearbox shift strategy that cuts overall gearchange times to 60 ms.
The 599XX is characterized by an innovative electronic concept called the "High Performance Dynamic Concept" which has been designed to get the maximum performance from the car by managing the combination of the car’s mechanical limits with the potential of its electronic controls.

Essence, the concept revealed by Infiniti today at the Geneva Motor Show was created to celebrate the company’s 20th anniversary, but also to give an idea of the brand’s future.
Designed in cooperation with Louis Vuitton, the Essence is a RWD model, featuring a dramatic design, technology and performance statement: it is powered by a 592 hp petrol-electric hybrid engine.
The hybrid system - a zero-emissions one - combines a petrol engine with an electric motor. These can work independently or together as a “parallel” hybrid system. When the traffic clears, Essence responds with a highway performance that few cars could match. In “power assist” mode the full 592 hp is unleashed with both petrol and electric power working together.
A key difference over some other hybrid systems is that both the V6 and the electric motor feed their power only to the rear wheels. Performance is more linear, response is crisper – and driving pleasure further enhanced – as a result.
The petrol engine, a 3.7-litre V6 gasoline engine is fitted with twin turbochargers and delivers 434 hp, while the electric motor, called 3D Motor delivers 158 hp.

First revealed as a concept car two years ago at the same show, the C8 Aileron finally saw its final design: production version was revealed today at the Geneva Motor Show. The first cars are being built now with customer production and deliveries starting in May 2009.
C8 Aileron is powered by a Audi 4.2 litre V8 engine, delivers 400 bhp and will be available with two transmission alternatives. The first one is a 6-speed Getrag manual gearbox, with ratios perfectly matched to the V8 engine. This is joined by a ZF 6-speed automatic gearbox, which comes standard with paddle shifts behind the steering wheel, to progress smoothly through the ratios. It makes the 0 to 60 mph sprint in 4.5 seconds and can hit a top speed of 187 mph.
The C8 Aileron’s design is heavily inspired by Spyker’s aviation heritage, as was the case with all previous models. Compared to previous models, the C8 Aileron features a larger grille that gives additional cooling. Also the rear diffuser was redesigned for improved functionality. An extra spoiler has been placed under the diffuser, providing additional downforce to boost the ground effect produced by the diffuser.

Aston Martin brought two mockups of the One-77 to Geneva. Between the full size styling model, and chassis and powertrain skeleton, we know have a pretty good idea of how the £1 million (about $1.4 at current rates) supercar will shape up.
The One-77 is powered by a 6.0-liter V12 engine (same from the DBS, DB9 and new V12 Vantage) that delivers 700 hp. With a projected weight of 1,500kg the One-77 should be very quick (Aston predicts a 0-60 time of 3.5 seconds.) Aston also says the engine will be able to pull the car to a top speed beyond 200 mph.
The skeletal model showed off the full carbon fiber monocoque chassis, which is extremely lightweight and rigid. Like all Aston Martins, the One-77 will feature a front mid-mounted engine and the transmission mounted toward the rear of the car. What will be unique to the One-77 will be that the suspension will be mounted inboard to furter increase the weight to the ideal center of the car.
Although the supercar is limited to a production run of only 77 cars, there should still be a few available.

A couple of weeks ago we got a taste of a hyper-hybrid called the Giugiaro Frazer Nash. As suspected, the engineering firm and British motoring icon Frazer-Nash was just working with Giugiaro on the Namir. One thing that hasn’t changed is the claim of the world’s fastest hybrid.
The super green machine weighs in at 3306 lbs and produces a combined 400 hp. This makes for figures that are almost too good to believe: 0-62 mph 3.5 seconds, 217 mph top speed, and rumored 118 miles per gallon (but probably not if you’re driving in the 200 mph zone.) The power system comes from a combination of a 0.8-liter rotary engine with four electric motors. It’s described an electric car with a gas engine used for boost.
Regardless of the set up, don’t expect Namir at any Hollywood parties any time soon. This car is putting new technology in a pretty wrapper than actually hitting the streets.
