The new Toyota Verso made its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show. It will be offered in three different trims: standard, Verso Sol and Verso Luna and Entry, Mid, High and High Plus model grades.
The Verso get the new Toyota Optimal Drive. A five engine line-up features 126 hp 2.0 litre, and 150 and 177 hp 2.2 litre examples of Toyota’s D-4D turbodiesel technology, as well as 1.6 and 1.8 litre Valvematic petrol units offering class-leading power and CO2 emissions. Mated to a new, 6-speed manual transmission, the new 1.6-litre Valvematic develops 132 hp, 22 hp more than the 1.6 VVT-i unit it replaces, whilst torque has been increased by 10 Nm to 160 Nm at 4400 rpm. Conversely, CO2 emissions have been reduced by 20g to 158g/km and combined fuel consumption is a frugal 6.7l/100km.
The next generation Verso diesel engine range features a newly available 2.0 D-4D turbodiesel, available with a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). Mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, it delivers 126DIN hp and 310 Nm of torque from 1800 to 2400 rpm. CO2 emissions are as low as 140g/km on units fitted with a Catalytic Converter, and 146g/km on those with a DPF. The Verso 2.0 D-4D 7-seater has the best-in-class CO2 emission levels for the 110-140DIN hp range, the core of the C-MPV segment.

Can someone please tell me what is with people and pink car? If until now you have seen car customized by clients, this pink 500 was created by Fiat itself. It is called 500 Barbie and was created in order to celebrate Barbie’s fiftieth birthday celebrations in Milan.
This special edition features a pink paintwork on the exterior; on the interior the seating is upholstered in strikingly soft fabrics: silver laminated Alcantara is not only trendy but plush to the touch and its glimmer bounces as far as the roof panel.
Then there are mats enhanced with natural silk yarn and sleek viscose, not to mention lip glosses in brilliant colours stored in the glove compartment, plus a LED-decked vanity mirror to ensure perfect application.
The car has more features than a crown has jewels! Crystals sparkle on interior bezels, hubcaps, outer window mouldings and antenna and even outline the doll’s famed silhouette on the pillars. Lastly, this Fiat 500 show car also has its own glossy cover, featuring the distinctive Sixties version of the Fiat 500 and a Barbie autograph.

The second model (next to the Megane RS) revealed today by Renault Sport at the Geneva Motor Show is the Clio RS 200. Sales will begin in May.
Clio RS 200 is powered by a normally-aspirated 2.0 16V engine that delivers 200hp at 7,100rpm and a peak torque of 215Nm at 5,400rpm. The new Clio RS 200 accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in just 6.9 seconds. The top speed increases by 2mph to 141mph.
The Clio RS 200 offers enhanced handling with the front and rear tracks widened by 48mm and 50mm respectively. The wheelbase is extended by 10mm to 2,585mm for greater stability, while the front suspension’s independent steering axis layout is unique in the Clio’s segment. This technology uses aluminum components to minimize weight and provides resistance to torque steer.

The Ford Focus RS is a car we in North America may give certain parts of our anatomy for, but soon it may be a car Europe will lust for too. It seems that when the Euro-only Focus RS goes away it may take Ford’s whole hot hatch line with it to the grave.
A Ford insider told iMotor Magazine, "The new Focus RS is pretty special, and not just because of its incredible performance, but because it’s likely to be the last car of this type you will see from Ford. People should enjoy cars like the Focus RS while they can. It’s unlikely you will see driver focused high performance hatchbacks ever again." But remember the quote is from a European magazine speaking to a European Ford representative. North America has never been a true haven for the hot hatch, and with technology like EcoBoost, fast Fords like the new Taurus SHO may still flow into America.
So when its all over, this may be a case of is it better to have loved and lost than to never loved at all?
3.3 liters/100 km and a CO2 emission of only 87 g/km - this is how we can resume the specifications of the most fuel efficient five-seater in the world. Although only revealed as a concept at the Geneva Motor Show, the Polo BlueMotion will go into production in February 2010.
The 1,080 kg concept is powered by a brand new 1.2 liter TDI with common rail injection engine that delivers 75 hp. Volkswagen is calling upon an entire array of efficiency measures, including an aerodynamic package for the body that is lowered by 10 millimeters (including modified front end), an aerodynamically optimized underbody and low rolling resistance tires on 15-inch alloy wheels.

Ford revealed at the Geneva Motor Show the iosis MAX concept a concept study for the next generation of Ford’s compact multi-activity vehicle (MAV) as well as a glimpse for the company’s next generation global C-car family.
The iosisMAX concept features striking exterior and interior designs based on a fresh interpretation of Ford’s kinetic design form language, new door opening concepts, lightweight materials, advanced aerodynamics, and a preview of the European development of Ford’s global EcoBoost petrol engine technology coming in 2010.
The iosisMAX is powered by a 1.6-litre 180 PS 4-cylinder petrol engine from Ford’s new EcoBoost engine family. Ford EcoBoost engines feature turbocharging and direct injection technology to deliver fuel economy up to 20% better than conventional petrol engines with a similar power output. The 1.6-litre EcoBoost unit in the iosis MAX is further optimized through the use of a new Ford Auto-Start-Stop system, intelligent alternator and six-speed Ford PowerShift double-clutch automated manual gearbox with ratios tailored to deliver maximum fuel efficiency. Simulations predict that the concept vehicle could achieve CO2 emissions of 125 g/km.

Our mouths started to water when we got word of a new special edition Subaru WRX STI. Then we started to tear up when we heard it would be designated Japan-only. Then we found out the only thing that really makes the Impreza WRX STI A-Line special is that it has a five speed automatic transmission. So we wet ourselves from laughing so hard at anyone who would think this is a good idea.
The A-Line uses the same 2.5-liter turbo from the standard WRX to make 300 hp (down 5 hp from the U.S. spec WRX). Aside from the slushbox, there is little to differentiate the A-Line from the rest of the WRX STIs except for a new paint color called "Satin White Pearl". Maybe this is so we can identify the manual tranny virgins.
Japan can keep this one.

Value is the current buzzword in car buying. As belts are tightening, we are going to take a long look at our economy cars like our Chevrolet Aveo5.
Purchasing an economy car has three distinct benefits. First good gas mileage means that not only are they inexpensive to buy but also inexpensive to run. The second advantage is the warranty that comes with a new car. Another advantage is being the first owner of a vehicle – there may be larger, slightly used vehicles at the same price point, but the owners are unknown.
Economy cars have a social standing that sometimes have people convinced that those who buy one made their decision on price only. They can sometimes be viewed as basic transportation, which gives them little social stature. So the idea with an ideal economy car is not only to spend as little as possible, but also have the appearance that it cost a lot more. That’s how value is measured in an economy car, and that’s how we equipped our Chevrolet Aveo5.

Alfa Romeo revealed today the official details on the MiTo GTA (Gran Turismo Alleggerito) Concept that will make its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show.
The word “Alleggerito” in GTA translates into “lightened”, and Alfa went down to even the small details on this one. Carbon fiber was used for the tailgate spoiler, the roof and the side mirrors. Some steel bits in the braking system, suspension and parts of the chassis were replaced with aluminum. All this dieting gives the car what Alfa claims is a power to weight ratio in-line with its sports cars.
The MiTo GTA is powered by a 1.75-liter turbo engine that delivers 240 hp. Alfa says that the by using technology such as direct gasoline injection, dual VVT (variable valve timing), turbocharging, and a revolutionary management system, the engine performs like one almost twice its size (3.0-liters).
Although this is labeled as a concept car, the production MiTo GTA should not have much changed by the time it arrives in European showrooms as early as this summer.
