2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 by Hennessey

The new Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is a heart-stopping, adrenaline-rushing machine packed with a 550 HP LSA 6.2L supercharged V-8 engine. Anyone would be crazy to turn it down, but when Hennessey takes the wheel and manipulates even more power from this engine, the car becomes an unstoppable force suitable only for the most experienced driver. Meet the five engine updates - HPE600, HPE650, HPE700, HPE800 and HPE1000 - that will take your Camaro ZL1 from "standard" to unbelievable.

The first and "tamest" package from Hennessey is the HPE600. This base version offers an output of 610 HP at 6000 rpm. Next to the mild power increase, this package also provides an HPE cold air induction system, a supercharger pulley upgrade, an HPE engine management calibration, and, of course, Hennessey HPE600 badging on the exterior.

The next step goes just a bit over the base line with the HPE650. This update comes with an output of 658 HP at 6,200 rpm and, in addition to the HPE600 upgrades, gets stainless steel long tube headers, high flow catalytic converters, stainless steel mid pipes, intercooler heat exchanger upgrade, Hennessey embroidered headrests, Hennessey HPE650 exterior badging, and premium floor mats.

UPDATE 10/10/2012: Hennessey has unveiled another one of their amazing videos featuring the HPE700 package as it gets tested by John Hennessey. Enjoy!

America has been known for many years as the "land of opportunity", now it can be known as the "land of the insane engineering." This change of title is due to a car which defies convention and could be considered the Bell X-1 of tuned sedans. This vehicle truly breaks down what is possible in the tuning market and plows a new path. This seminal vehicle is the 2012 Hennessey Twin Turbo V1000 CTS-V Coupe. The guys over at Hennessey were the only people to look at the 2012 Cadillac CTS-V and think "ya know, we need to make it as powerful as a medium sized ICBM," and the outcome is simply staggering.

This latest offering from the Texas based tuning company boasts 1,000 horsepower and 950 ft/lbs of torque. This will push the sports car to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds and will allow it to do the quarter mile in 10.9 seconds at 136 mph. All this while pushing it all the way to a top speed of 230 mph.

If you’re screaming "I want one!", you will have to a right a large check (somewhere north of 150K). You will also have to be quick because only 12 are being made. If you are lucky enough to have this automotive Hulk, you will undoubtedly love to get under the skin of other super car owners. They will roll their eyes at this pauper, but as soon as you press the loud pedal, you will definitely give their Mercedes SLS AMG and Ferrari 458 Italia models a fright.

2011 Cadilac CTS-V Black Diamond Edition V700 Sport Wagon by Hennessey

Hennessey Performance is bringing a bit more class to their Cadillac CTS-V V700 package by dropping it into one of the rarest Cadillac CTS-V models ever: the Black Diamond Edition with a manual transmission. Now owners of the exclusive Black Diamond can also take part in the 707 HP madness that was provided to the standard model last year.

The Black Diamond CTS-V features a dark tri-coat paint an embedded with SpectraFlair Bright Silver pigment. This special pigment uses aluminum flakes encapsulated in a glass-like substance called magnesium fluoride. The result is a paint that has a diamond-like sparkle as light hits the surface from different angles. The special exterior paint is further highlighted by Satin Graphite 19-inch wheels with yellow Brembo brake calipers and a special Midnight Sapele wood trim.

The sparkling exterior of the Black Diamond makes it a hot commodity to begin with, but Hennessey’s V700 upgrade package causes the temperature to spike with 707 raging horses, up from the CTS-V’s standard 556 HP. For this increase, the Cadillac’s 6.2 liter supercharged V8 engine was given a plethora of goodies, including an HPE Cold Air Induction System, supercharger pulley upgrade, intercooler heat exchanger upgrade, and a V700 camshaft upgrade. Other features include high flow cylinder heads, stainless steel long tube headers, high flow catalytic converters, and stainless steel mid-pipes.

With these additions, the Cadillac CTS-V Black Diamond V700 can sprint from 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds, make the quarter mile in 10.9 second at a speed of 128 mph, and will be capable of a top speed of 211 mph.

2009 - 2011 Nissan GTR800 by Hennessey

Hennessey has been laying out packages left and right for a variety of models lately, including the Dodge Ram HPE500, Cadillac Escalade, and now, the lusciously tuned Nissan GT-R. There was no time wasted fiddling with the exterior of the GTR because Hennessey went straight to work pumping up the standard 3.8L V6 engine to produce up to 800 HP.

We haven’t seen this many additions under the hood of a vehicle since the last Hennessey tuned project we encountered, so we’re going to focus on some of the more important ones for now. The standard 3.8L V6 engine was jacked up with the help of SUMO turbo, intercooler piping, and intercooler core upgrades, as well as high-flow fuel injectors and chassis dyno tuning and engine calibration. Other additions include a SUMO stainless steel midpipe exhaust, SUMO stainless steel turbo downpipes, and a SUMO high-flow cold air induction. These modifications allow the GTR800 to pack an 813 HP punch and sprint the car from 0-60 mph in 2.6 seconds. The 0-100 mph sprint is made in 6.2 seconds and the quarter mile can be had for 10.5 seconds at a speed of 136 mph.

If that’s not enough for your average consumer, then Hennessey is equipped with several different options, including a transmission clutch pack upgrade, a SUMO electronic exhaust cutout (75 mm), a KW variant 3 adjustable coilover suspension upgrade, premium wheel and tire packages, and carbon fiber body kits and accessories. Oh, and they’ll also throw in Hennessey and GTR800 exterior badges and serial numbered dash and engine plaques for good measure.

Hit the jump for specifications on Hennessey’s Nissan GTR projects.
