2011 Holden Thunder Ute

  Review

Any Australians anxiously awaiting the return of the Thunder can now breathe a tremendous sigh of relief; it seems that Holden will be bringing back the special edition Thunder nameplate to the VE Series II Ute line-up. The special edition has been launched as a celebration of the 60th anniversary of the original 1951 Ute and will be based on the popular SV6 and SS Ute models. The SV6 will be powered by a 3.6l SIDI V6 and the SS Ute will come with the standard V8. Both models will come standard with a six-speed manual transmission and optional six-speed automatic.

The special edition Holden Thunder Ute will be available in 10 exterior colors and will be distinguished by unique 19-inch five spoke charcoal alloy wheels. Thunder badges will also be visible on the side and rear of the exterior, while the interior gets sports seats with leather bolsters and Touch-screen Holden-iQ system with Satellite Navigation.

"Over 60 years of production, the Holden ute has evolved from typical tradesman’s transport to two-door sports machine with a practical edge - that’s epitomized by the Thunder range," Holden Executive Director of Sales, Marketing and Aftersales John Elsworth said. "It is a really bold, tough looking ute which we think will appeal to many of our traditional sports ute buyers. We’re expecting it to be an absolute winner in our showrooms."

It looks cute and cool on its platform and body paint. It’s a good thing as well that it has a nice and comfortable interior which I bet everyone would also love for their outdoor vehicle.

I’m not familiar as well with this, but I also admire the decent and exclusive appearance of this Ute. Moreover, it’s a good thing that it has a two engine option which both great on this vehicle.

I’m not familiar with this Holden, but I think it was looked like a Mazda vehicle. Anyway, I’m glad to hear that it had a two engine option, and I have to agree that it looks so awesome on its body paint.

It doesn’t look like a picked up car for me, but I have to admit that this one is really looks so impressive on its appearance and body paint even its luxurious interior seems that not suited for a truck like this.

Thunder Ute was already looking great on its body paint, but I noticed that it is too small for a pick up car but surely for those who are dying to see this again it will not that so matter at all. smiley

Nice thunder ute color, I like the trendy goers outlook and the very enhanced and distinct gesture.

I love the interior of this Thunder Ute. It looks so cozy and relaxing, and the exterior styling seems so perfect for me. It already looks great on its color. It is so cool with that.

How many kinds of thunder Holden will be produce. I hope they can create a lot of this even if it a special edition because I really want to have one. I like the sporty look of the car and also the paint they used. Cool blue.

hmm. It seems that they haven’t made an awesome modification for this car. Well, it seems that they just focused on the paint job of the car...as expected from the Holden!
