Australia’s favorite sports car is getting some updates for 2011, but not much has changed aesthetically, or mechanically for that matter. What HSV has done is added a slew of technological updates to the E-series to come up with the new E-Series 3. The sports car will go on sale at the end of this month. The most impressive technological advancement for the E-Series 3 is the new Enhanced Driver Interface. This interface allows vehicle performance data to get pushed to the car’s touch screen display, something we are sure everyone would find amazing and helpful. Adding to the technology is also HSV’s new Side Blind Alert which is optional on all models in the 3 range and the Liquid Propane Injection which comes on all of the models except the Clubsport R8 Tourer. The interior will receive a new ‘Oracle’ dash, a new model specific stainless steel ID plate on the center console, new twin-stitch seat trims on GTS and Senator Signature, as well as a new leather color in Turismo Rosso and a Piano black trim on the center console and steering wheel. The list of standard equipment includes the Enhanced Driver Interface, reverse camera with rear park assist, satellite navigation, and touchscreen radio with iPod connectivity. Since nothing was mentioned of the engine options, we are going to assume that the E-Series 3 will be powered by the same heart stopping V8 engine that was found on the previous model. This engine allows the Australian sports car to produce 431hp with the top of the line GTS models getting 442hp. The Holden E-Series 3 is definitely not a bad gig for the Land Down Under. We only wish we could get our hands on one of these in the States. It looks like something that would be right up our alley. Press release after the jump. Press release Australia’s high performance car manufacturer Holden Special Vehicles is pleased to announce the launch of its new E Series 3, featuring a host of Australian production car firsts, and interior upgrades to the HSV range.
In addition to technological innovation, HSV has added a significant set of unique interior updates to the E Series 3, including;
The final stand-out aspect of the E Series 3 range is a raft of new standard features being offered on all HSV models, specifically;
HSV’s Managing Director, Phil Harding, believes the new E3 range has reached a new level of sophistication and continues the company’s long history of innovation. “Our E3 range is an example of HSV’s passion for innovation, and determination to bring world leading technology to vehicles,” he said. 7 comments: HSV E-Series 3 Wow, very modern and young sports car. Actually yellow is one of my favorite color, and now with this. Totally amazing.
Wow. Holden is making on its way to this industry. This new released car of Holden will surely be a big production for them. I like the styling of the car and the performance it delivers is really impressive.
The American public reacted to a bad financial situation, not an inherently bad car. GM didn’t react at all, it simply stuck it’s hand out for taxpayer bail-out, and chopping off it’s own limbs hastily. It still hasn’t really refined it’s business philosophy, and actually gotten the point.
GM proceeded to sit on their thumb for 4 years watching Chrysler get a million sales, and then brought over a low volume Australian car that was too expensive for volume trims, and hid it away in a dead showroom full of garbage rental cars.
Actually this is the first time I see this car, or any car that came from Australia so I don’t have any idea on what would I say.
