  The Accord was the segment leader since its launch in 2001. Sales have taken a hit because of lack of a diesel engine and Honda only offers a 2.4-litre iVETC and a 3.5-litre V6 iVETC. Its biggest competitors are the Volkswagen Passat, Skoda Superb, Toyota Camry, Hyundai Sonata. In 2011 Honda gave the Accord a facelift.

2008 Honda Accord to hit 60mpg


We previously reported that Honda will drop the Accord Hybrid. But this does not mean that you will have to pay millions for gas if you want to own an Accord. Honda will replace the non-successful Accord V6 hybrid with an ultra-clean range of diesel engines that could be capable of over 60mpg. Honda has announced that they will not launch a hybrid version of the new generation of Accord sedan when it will go on sale in the second half of the year. Insteed, the company will promote a new range of petrol-electric hybrid versions of the new Civic and another subcompact model wich currently is in development. Spy photographers caught the 2008 Honda Accord on testing down the streets in Santa Monica, California. The 2008 Accord will have as a main competitor the Nissan Altima, Mazda 6 and Ford Mondeo. At Detroit Auto Show, Honda unveiled the Accord Coupe Concept that revealed styling cues to be used by the new 2008 Accord, which goes on sale in America in the fall.The car will debut in both sedan and coupe versions. Own a Honda Accord in China? Got some bad news for you... Honda of China has announce that approximately 528, 406 Accords will be recalled due to faulty fuel pumps and power steering lines. Consumer Reports announced today that it has named five new models to its Top Picks list for 2007 — the Toyota RAV4, Infiniti G35, Toyota Sienna, Mazda MX-5 Miata, and the new Honda Fit. The Top Picks list is published in CR’s Annual April Auto Issue. The Toyota Prius remains the Top Pick in the "green" car category for the fourth year in a row. Honda recalls 81,000 of its ’04-’05 Accord


After some years in production the Honda Accord seams to have some problems.So Honda Motor Co. is recalling 81,000 of its 2004-2005 Accord sedans because of an airbag sensor that was installed improperly.This could cause the related sensor to fail as the company said. The sensor regulates deployment of the airbag based on the occupant’s size and seating position and could fail, leading to injuries for smaller drivers.
