Just because you are gas conscious does not meant you have to look dull. If you are one lucky owners of Honda’s in-demand 2009 Fit (sold as Jazz in European markets) and want to add some personality to your vehicle, then Ings (a Japanese tuner) seems to be you solution. The tuning company released today its Ings+1 N-SPEC program for the Honda Fit. It consists of a new hood, a re-designed front bumper, new side sills, a new roof spoiler and a new rear apron with integrated rear air diffuser.
The tuner added a new set of Rays/Volk Racing Re30 ’08 Formula Limited Edition wheels fitted with Bridgestone Potenza Re050 tires. No words about the price yet, but we have lots of images after the jump.
Hybrids, hybrids, HYBRIDS! Every car company seems to not be able to get enough gas/electric cars in its lineup, well except Honda. As it turns out Honda has no current plans to bring the Fit hybrid to the U.S. So while Japan gets a few more miles out of the little car, we’ll have to settle for 28 city/35 hwy mileage.
Honda says that they are already selling Fits as fast as it can make them and don’t need to add an addition a model in the U.S. But green-minds don’t need to worry; the Civic hybrid is still available and Honda is putting the finishing touches on its Prius fighter.
Honda’s fuel-sipping Fit will turn an even deeper shade of green with new plans to launch a gasoline-electric hybrid version of the popular subcompact in the early 2010s.
The hybrid Fit, announced here early today, will be the fourth hybrid from Honda Motor Co. by 2015, as the Japanese automaker chases rival Toyota Motor Corp. in the low-emission car race.
Honda already was planning to roll out an all new dedicated hybrid vehicle early next year, to challenged Toyota’s Prius, followed by a sporty hybrid and a redesigned Civic hybrid.
The greener Fit’s arrival dispels Honda’s earlier skepticism about the viability of mounting pricey hybrid systems on small, low-priced cars that already get great mileage.
President Takeo Fukui has changed his tune — in time with changing market realities.
"The Fit has great fuel efficiency to begin with, and if you put in a hybrid, it’s going to get even better," Fukui said while announcing the car at a mid-year news conference. "So with crude oil prices going up this much, I think a Fit hybrid is now starting to make sense."
Honda announced today that the all-new 2009 Fit will make its world debut at the New York Auto Show, a model that according to the company will "reconfirm that small can in fact be big."
Next to it Honda will also unveil a prototype version of the 2009 Pilot, set to debut in spring 2008, and emphasizes authentic SUV styling, clever and more accommodating interior packaging and advanced technologies for safety, fuel efficiency and convenience. The FCX Clarity will also make it New York debut.
Another model presented by Mugen at the Tokyo Auto Salon was the Fit F154 SC, a concept that, as the company says, wants to make young people being interested in models like Type-R and Fit.
