If anyone has ever doubted the feasibility of a green, eco-friendly hybrid car possessing the kind of power that would make its rivals sick with envy, then it would be a good idea to learn a thing or two from Bisimoto Engineering.

Known for being one of the most aggressive tuners of its kind, Bisimoto went to the SEMA Auto Show in Las Vegas to present their one-of-a-kind masterpiece, a 533 horsepower Honda CR-Z Hybrid->ke3082. Yeah, we just put “533 horsepower” and “hybrid” in the same sentence. Bisimoto has that effect on us.

The tuning firm took the CR-Z’s 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine and rebuilt it using Arias pistons, a Bisimoto valvetrain, and a billet Turbonetics turbo, cranking the powertrain all the way up to a mind-blowing 533 horsepower.

As a sports hybrid hatch, the CR-Z may look the part of an innocuous sporty city car, but inside that fascia lies the heart of a lion, one that only needs a little fine-tuning to unleash. For that type of final product, turn to Bisimoto Engineering to do the tuning.

Exterior and Interior

Bisimoto knows a thing or two about dressing up their tuned vehicles and this CR-Z is definitely no exception. Over at the exterior, the hybrid sports hatch was wrapped in a custom Gatorwrap laminated body wrap with Type 2 graphics. On top of that, they also gave the CR-Z a Bisimoto-VIS carbon fiber hatch and wing while also putting in a Burns stainless muffler. In the interior, we can find an L&T interior paint finish, Buddy Club P1 racing seats and harness, and Bisimoto reservoir socks with Rywire harness.

Performance

This is where Bisimoto did most of its work, turning the CR-Z from a mild-mannered sports hatch to a car that produces a mammoth 533 horsepower. The tuning firm installed a 1.5-liter LEA1 engine with a Turbonetics Billet turbocharger that shoots up its output to over 533 horsepower. Bisimoto also added their own valvetrain, rods, intake gasket, and a level 2.4 camshaft, as well as Arias pistons, AEM EMS, Torco oils, a Griffin radiatior, Supertech valves, a Golden Eagle sleeved block, ARP head studs, a Portflow custom head, Kinsler fuel rail, filter, and injectors, and finally, a custom Bisimoto 70mm throttle body.

Bisimoto Engineering is known worldwide for awe-inspiring street, show, and race vehicles. With no fear of the unknown, Bisimoto is always on the cutting edge of automotive technology. The Bisimoto 2011 CR-Z was no exception with a 533+ hp turbocharged hybrid powerplant, which retains the drivability, reliability, and eco-friendly nature of the original engine.

Pricing

The car itself has no price tag, although you can avail of each of the individual parts that Bisimoto used to create this maddening 533 horsepower machine.

Competition

Finding a Honda CR-Z that produces north of 500 horsepower is extremely rare in this world. Heck, even the CR-Z Turbo and the HPD CR-Z Racer, two cars that were also in attendance at SEMA, could only reach 200 horsepower on their own. Having a car that comes with well over 500 horsepower is above and beyond what any tuned up CR-Z is capable.
