2012 Honda CR-V Concept

The lead-up to the highly anticipated launch of the next generation Honda CR-V is now in full swing after the Japanese automaker unveiled the very first photo of the 2012 CR-V Concept. The photo hints at what could possibly be the next generation model of Honda ’s popular crossover.

Specific details of the 2012 CR-V are still being kept under wraps - with a car this popular, it’s a smart move to build up the anticipation slowly. What we do know is a few details, including a front-wheel-drive set-up for most of the available versions with the all-wheel-drive variant set to come as an added option.

As for the powertrain, it is expected that the US market CR-V will carry a 2.4-liter four-cylinder iVTEC engine that delivers 180 horsepower at 6,800 rpm and 161 lb/ft of torque at 4,400 rpm, which is the same as the 2011 model . Europe-bound model could carry a 2.2-liter iDTEC diesel engine that produces 165 horsepower.

The expectations for the 2012 CR-V are understandably high considering the brand’s global popularity and its standing as one of the top-selling crossovers in the world. For their part, Honda seems to be up to the challenge, declaring that the new design for the crossover will set a new standard for the class.

Here’s to hoping that these bold words are more than just lip service.

CR-V is so practical for everyday transportation on work and school and so reliable also on a road. I love the platform design of this car, it is really an impressive car.

I really have a doubt on its 180 horsepower! I don’t think that it could give a nice speed performance on this concept. Anyway, its weak engine only gives me a thought that it is an electric vehicle.

I only love the fact that CR-V is very practical for everyday transportation just like on work and school, and it is also so reliable on the road. Even its platform looks very admiring on it.

I love this concept, for the fact that it is still so reliable on the road and practical to use as my everyday transportation as well smiley by the way, I have to agree that it is already looking great on that color.

This Honda CR-V concept is one of the most stunning SUV cars that I saw despite of having a simple detailing, and I have to agree that it is already looking great on its body paint, and I hope to see this one soon. smiley

Concept wise CR-V take much of my attention, I like the rear-wheel and exterior aesthetic of the car. Look very clever and proud.

Honda CR-V concept platform is very ordinary, but I still find it oozing with car appeal. And I love the fact that it is so reliable and practical to use.

I love the cool front headlights of this concept, though the platform is seems so ordinary, and I must say that it already looks great on its color.

So far, this CR-V is still a concept but I must agree that this kind of car is the most in demand todays, though it really don’t have an impressive design atleast it is so practical to use in everyday transportation.

Honda CR-V is one of the most in demand car when it come to convenience and sporty design although it only offers a 180 horsepower which not bad at all.

I simply love and so impressed with this CR-V concept. I have to agree with Stig USA that this kind of car is so practical to use and reliable for a road trips and on the road.

An ordinary city car that I often see. For me, this concept is not that good compare to other concept cars. Look at the performance of the car, it only produces 165 HP, very poor. By the way, we still need more information about this new concept.

Well, at least the front couldn’t be any worse than the current model. However, it seems to have a bit of a quasi-modo hunch happening.
