2011 Hyundai Veloster Rally Car

January’s 2011 Detroit Auto Show brought with it the production version of the long rumored Veloster , but Hyundai is using the Chicago Auto Show to display a rally version of the car.

The Veloster Rally Car is powered by a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine mated to an Xtrac six-speed sequential transmission. Making giant leaps across the rally road will be made easy with the engine’s 500hp and all of that power comes with an estimated 40mpg.

This particular version of the Veloster will make its rally debut at the 2011 U.S. Rallycross Championship Series. In fact, three Velosters will be racing during the Rallycross; one will be driven by Rhys Millen, the second will be piloted by rally champion Marcus Dodd and world record freestyle motorbike rider Robbie Maddison, and the third will be driven by to-be-announced celebrity drivers.

Exterior and Interior

Hyundai Veloster Rally Car

Starting with a standard Hyundai Veloster , the rally version replaces the standard hood, doors, quarter panels, front fascia, and rear fascia with new ones made in carbon/Kevlar. The carbon/Kevlar panels are 75% lighter than the sheet metal they replaced. This weight-saving approach is carried throughout the car without compromising its powerful curves and surface detail or hidden third door. On the rear, there is a custom RMR rear wing, so the total weight is now 2,656 pounds.

For the interior, all the comfort and convenience features have been removed and replaced with a custom-fabricated eight-point safety cage. The safety cage is required for rallying and a Sparco racing seat further protects the driver in the overhauled cockpit.

The entire carbon/Kevlar body is wrapped in a paint scheme combination of blue, white, and orange.

However, the strongest competition will remain the Fiesta with its 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that produces 490 horsepower at 8,000 RPM.

  • Cool exterior graphics
  • Powerful engine
  • Use of carbon fiber
  • No one else will be able to drive it

I love the graphic design of the exterior of this 2011 Hyundai Veloster Rally car. It has the most powerful engine among other rally cars. The interior offers all the comfort and convenience features.

This rally car has shown some grooves. It’s best on the road. I love the photos in the gallery makes me wonder what would I feel when I’m riding in that car.

This Rally car is astonishing when it’s roving the dirt road. That relatively small rally car has a 500hp. Amazing enough.

On those photos, it’s unstoppable to look at most of it when it was running on a high speed and it looks like flying and jumping around the road. It’s a great show if this car would be the first to show some moves.

I noticed that it was oozing with angst and aggressiveness on its abstract and exquisite appearance, and it seems so powerful either, is it already on the market production?

Very artistic design but I’m not sure if I’m going to be impressed with this one because the design that it has gives the nasty looks on it. Anyway, it seems so powerful but I’m quite wondering on what will be the interior of this one will look like.

Hey, so what’s up with this car? I heard that they will be using the settings of this one for the trim levels of the production Veloster. Well, if that’s the case, then that one would definitely be a must watch.

The production rumored was already been set into reality. Here comes the new Detroit Auto Show Veloster, Hyundai has revealed its own hedonistic rally version of speed
car performance.

This seems to be a very cool car with its graceful appearance. A very good choice for a rally veloster that will totally amazing performance ability suitable for sporty people.

This model seems to be pretty cool yet simple and elegance design. This simplicity of Hyundai Genesis R-spec is one of its unique differences to other old versions.

Now they definitely made a good choice for the rally car. The Veloster is actually very agile and easy to handle, making it ideal for rally racing.

The new Veloster Rally Car a very cool exterior graphics and powerful engine capacity,Its turbocharged engine that produces 490 horsepower, brings the model a strongest competitor.

I have recalled that in the past they have participated in WRC during the 90’s with the hatchback
but they weren’t successful. Its Hyundai and its still great though.

Now comes a brand-new image to further tantalize us. Wearing Red Bull Racing colors, this rally-prepped Veloster has been captured mid-flight.
