In some respects, that’s what you expect from an aftermarket company like Arden, which has specialized in these types of programs for Range Rovers. It’s latest take is no different, and yet when you take into account the kind of performance upgrade it gave the SUV , you stand and wonder if it could’ve been more.
That’s the respect we have for Arden.
But hey, this tuning program is still a whale of an upgrade, something Arden achieved by giving the Range Rover a supercharger kit, a new sport catalytic converter, an optimized ECU unit and a high-performance exhaust system. Considering that the standard Range Rover’s 5.0-liter, V-8 engine can produce a tight 510 horses and 461 pound-feet of torque, it’s an impressive feat that Arden was able to spike the numbers to a staggering 650 horsepower and 580 pound-feet of torque. This is good enough to improve the SUV’s 0-to-60 mph time from 5.3 seconds to somewhere around 3.8 and before hitting a top speed of 161 mph.
No word yet on how much this program is going to cost, but with the promise of 650 horsepower to play around with, we’ve no doubt that it’s going to set customers back a few bucks.

The current-generation Mercedes ML-Class (W166) was unveiled in 2011, as a 2012 model, and since then it hasn’t received any major updates. Things are about to change, however, as it looks like a revision for the ML is just around the corner, as our spy photographers managed to snap the first photos of the revised ML during winter testing.
As you can see from these spy shots, it looks like only the front and the rear sections will be updated. The interior will also receive a large iPad-like screen on the dashboard and the new COMAND infotainment controller with a touchpad on the center console.
We also expect to see a few changes under the hood, with a plug-in-hybrid version being a possibility.
The revised ML will be released in late 2014, as a 2015 model. It will join the MLC — the model that will take on the BMW X6 — in Mercedes’ crossover lineup.

With the next auto show scheduled to take place after the calendar turns to 2014, a number of automakers are already gearing up for it before the holiday break arrives.
One of these companies is Audi and to no one’s surprise, the German company has gotten the ball rolling with a preview of a crossover concept that it plans to unveil at the Detroit Auto Show in January.
Billed as the "new Audi show car," the yet-to-be-named crossover coupe concept is being touted as a preview of what we can expect from Audi moving forward, specifically as it pertains to certain visual elements in the concept that will be translated to its future lineup of sports cars .
That’s a lot take in, especially considering the "coupe -like nature" of this particular concept, particularly the certain designs that are undeniably sporty in nature. There’s a tornado line on the sides that emphasize a distinctively aggressive character. There are short overhangs and a low roof, thicker-than-usual C-pillars, aluminum underbody guards, and of course, a new set of 19-inch alloy wheels that mesh well with the somewhat-staunch and muscular look of this concept.
The interior, it appears, has a 2+2 seating configuration, although what appears to be lack of backrests on the front seats leaves us a little confused as to what Audi’s going for with this. There’s a flat-bottom steering wheel, which is a nice touch, and the full-length center console definitely adds personality to the concept.
We expect to hear more about this new crossover coupe concept when the Detroit Auto Show comes around. Until then, these teaser photos will give you a clear indication of what to expect before the concept makes its world debut.

McLaren Special Operation — MSO for short — is a special division of the company established back in August 2011. Since then, the best vehicles we’ve seen from them were the MP4-12C High Sport and the X1 .
While waiting for that special Project Alpha supercar , which MSO announced a while ago, it launched a very cool 12C concept car. It is, of course, a new design exercise that show the amazing bespoke capacities of the MP4-12C sports car .
Just like with all the other vehicles developed by MSO, this special 12C received a full package of bespoke features, including a revised hood, front wing louvers, new rear wing vents, a unique airbrake and a new roof, featuring an integrated snorkel that channels air into the engine. All these elements are made in carbon fiber.
The 12C also features titanium wheel bolts to help reduce unsprung weight and add strength to the hubs.
For the interior, MSO adds a carbon-fiber instrument cluster with integrated shift lights, and a color trim inspired by the body color.

America’s original pony car will turn 50 in 2014, and Ford is celebrating the monumental birthday by taking its maiden voyage overseas. The 2015 Ford Mustang will find its way into right-hand-drive markets, such as England, Japan and Australia. Moreover, for the first time in the Mustang’s history, England and Australia studios will aid in the design of the new-generation muscle car. Add that to the fact that the 2015 Mustang will receive independent rear suspension for the first time ever, with exception of the Cobra version a decade ago, and the Mustang suddenly becomes a hot topic among enthusiasts.
With such dramatic changes in the geographical availability of the Mustang, as well as the move away from the cheaper live axle, not much else has to change in order for this new-generation Mustang to find its new niche in the 2015 model year. That being said, expect the updated muscle car to get a radical redesign while still staying true to its overall look and style.
Also, for the first time, the Mustang is offered with an EcoBoost engine and a series of new technologies that will push it on top on the market.
Updated 12/05/2013: After much teasing and many rumors, the sixth-generation Ford Mustang finally made its world debut today.

While most of you are likely getting ready for the holiday season, the automotive world is readying itself for the whirlwind that will be the 2014 Detroit Auto Show . We already know about a few of the goodies that will be displayed in the Motor City, like the Corvette Z06 and the new-generation Hyundai Genesis , but we’re pretty sure that the list will be far longer than that by time the show opens on January 13th.
One such addition is this concept car from Infiniti . Called Q50 "Eau Rouge," the concept is based on the recently launched Q50 and features elements inspired by Formula One .
The concept is named after the world-famous corner at the Formula One track in Spa-Francorchamps, "a corner which requires extraordinary strength, courage and commitment."
While all we have on the concept so far is this teaser image, Infiniti did confirm it will feature a special aerodynamic package and design elements "which are influenced by Infiniti’s partnership with Formula One world championship-winning team Infiniti Red Bull Racing."

Aftermarket company, BBM Motorsport, has pulled the covers off of its new program for the BMW M6 Cabriolet and by all accounts, this is one of the more impressive takes we’ve seen of the German saloon .
The first order of business was to change the color of the M6, and BBM Motorsport called in SFT Carwrap for the job. With the latter responsible for the dress-up, the M6 Cabrio was treated to a fancy matte steel-blue body wrap and accented with gunpowder shades that came from SOTT / Arlon. A set of alloy wheels - 21-inch Breyton Spirit R types - was also installed, as was a KW suspension kit that keeps the car handling supremely even with all the power upgrades it received.
Speaking of such, BBM Motorsport wasted little time giving the M6 Cabrio a huge engine modification, something it achieved by remapping the ECU and installing a complete Akrapovic exhaust with carbon end pipes. With these upgrades, the aftermarket company was able to increase the output of the M6 to an insane 705 horsepower and 636 pound-feet of torque, a significant rise from the standard 560-horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque output of the standard model.
No performance numbers were given, but we assume the BBM Motorsport-tuned M6 is now capable of hitting 60 mph in 3.5 seconds to go with a top speed of 190 mph.

The Land Rover Defender has lived a long and glorious life that began back in 1948. The Defender is set to retire in 2015, following 67 years of production. Seen as an example of highly rugged British engineering, the Defender went on to conquer the world, thanks to its go-anywhere ability.
Land Rover plans to replace the Defender with a new model, based on the DC100 Concept . That said, the legacy of the original Defender has rendered it with "classic" status.
A. Kahn Design specializes in the customization of Land Rovers and its latest creation is based on a Defender 2.2 TDCi. Kahn likes to call it the Land Rover Defender 2.2 TDCi SW 90 Chelsea Wide Track.
Kahn retained the classic shape of the Defender, but the subtle detailing make this Kahn Design Defender rather special.

Automotive design is an odd beast that usually ends up being a product of compromise and costs concerns after long hours in board meetings and design studios filled with creative minds that don’t always agree. One man, however, has broken that tradition and designed a car from the ground up to be a single entity, appealing to both the male and female buyer through specific design elements and featured content.
Timur Bozca is that man and his Bozca Zest concept is a truly unique piece of automotive design. The philosophy behind the Zest is, according to Bozca, one of equality between the sexes and what each desires in a vehicle. Men look for performance and stunning designs, while women desire creature comforts, useful interiors, and storage space.
Not only is the Zest an exercise in clever design, but its powertrain is something to be admired. An Audi -sourced, 2.5-liter, turbocharged five-cylinder with direct injection makes its home under the hood and produces 335 horsepower and 331 pound-feet of torque. The gasoline engine does not power the car, however. Rather, four synchronized electric motors at each wheel receive power from the gas engine and 84 kg (185-pound) on-board batteries to propel the Zest forward – with the ability to hit 62 mph from in just 5.5 seconds. Regenerative braking, photovoltaic panels on the transparent roof, and full-on, plug-in-hybrid capabilities (PHEV) mean the Zest is highly efficient while being performance oriented.
The Zest also boasts a composite chassis that aids in reducing the car’s overall weight to just 1,200 kg (2645 pounds). Carbon fiber is used extensively and is even employed in crash zones to help absorb impacts. The body panels are comprised of a sandwiched material of linen and cork bonded together with epoxy resin. The result is a lightweight, yet strong exterior that also boasts a drag coefficient of only 0.35 Cd.

When Porsche unveiled the 918 Spyder concept at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show we were all in amazement. Within that amazement was a sense of a sense of pessimism, as we were unsure exactly how this future successor to the Carrera GT would look and run in the real world. We all know that manufacturers have a habit of “overestimating” its cars at these shows, to put it nicely.
After more than three years, the 918 Spyder ended its testing phase and is ready for its world debut at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The 918 has made many passes around the “Green Hell,” thrashing its predecessor’s time in the process. All of these laps around the famed Nürburgring and at Porsche’s test facilities have given the automaker enough details to allow it to piece together all of its specs.
So, is the 918 Spyder everything it has been hyped up to be?
Update 10/02/2013: Porsche unveiled a new promo video (above) for the new 918 Spyder in that it explains the design concept behind the new supercar. Enjoy!
Update 11/18/2013: Shortly after the first 918 Spyder units were delivered, Porsche announced a series of improvements for the new electric supercar. With the new improvements, the model equipped with the Weissach package will go from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.6 seconds (-0.2 seconds), from zero to 200 km/h (124 mph) in 7.2 seconds (-0.5 seconds), and from 0 to 300 km/h (186 mph) in 19.9 seconds (-2.1 seconds). Also, when only the two electric motors run, the model goes from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.2 seconds, without producing any emissions.
Update 12/04/2013: Porsche unveiled a new video showing its new 918 Spyder in action on the on the Valencia racetrack. Enjoy!
