Jaguar Australia has unveiled a special edition XK Coupe that celebrates not only Jaguar’s 75th Anniversary, but also Jaguar’s historic return to Le Mans next weekend. Sales will begin at the end of June and there will only be 10 units produced, each priced at $193,500 plus on-road costs.
The Jaguar XK Coupe 75th Anniversary Edition is available in three colors only - Indigo Blue, Ultimate Black, and Liquid Silver. It will be distinguished by 20" Kalimnos alloy wheels, chrome finish to the side power vents, and chrome tailpipe finishers.
For the interior the XK gets bright finish pedals and an exclusive "75 Years" badge. The Jaguar will also feature a soft grain leather interior with contrast stitch and 16-way heated and cooled seats with memory. The sound coming out of the XK will be thanks to the superb Bowers & Wilkins 525-watt system with Dolby® ProLogic®II Surround Sound, three-channel stereo and unique amplifier, Kevlar mid-range speakers with high output and low distortion, and specially designed aluminum tweeters.
The Jaguar XK will get a new 5.0 Liter AJ-V8 engine without the supercharger that produces 385 bhp and 515 Nm of torque. This leave the XK doing the 0-6mph sprint in 5.5 seconds.
Pricing for the Jaguar XK starts at 193,500 AUD (158,500 USD).
The current Jaguar XJ is powered by a 5.0 liter V8 engine offered in both naturally aspirated and supercharged versions with outputs ranging from 385 hp to 510 hp. Europeans also get a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine. Now, rumors suggest that Jaguar is also preparing a 4.4 liter TDV8 engine for 2011 in a model called either the Jaguar XJ TDV8 or the Jaguar XJ Supersport TDV8.
The 4.4 liter diesel engine will deliver a total of 375bhp and a peak torque of more than 600lb.-ft. The sprint from 0 to 60 mph will be made quicker than the supercharged XJ and will return 40mpg. Same engine is also rumored to be offered in the Jaguar XF.
Bad guys, watch out! The new Jaguar XF Diesel S is under patrol! Seven Jaguars were chosen by the Central Motorway Police Group to patrol in Staffordshire, Mercia and the West Midlands. The Jaguar was chosen due to its fuel economy (42mpg), CO2 rating (179 g/km), and residual value retention (80% after 1 year/14K and 45% after 3 years/60K).
The police car features: roof mounted light bar with 3600 blue flashing lights and integrated side alley lights, blue and white flashing LED lights inside the front grille, side mounted blue flashing LED lights, blue and red flashing LED lights integrated in the rear light clusters and a Home Office-specification electronics ’Police pack’. Yeah, that’s a lot of lights.
The Jaguar XF Diesel S is powered by a 3.0-liter AJ-V6D Gen III diesel engine that delivers 275 hp. The Diesel S accelerates from 0-60mph in just 5.9 seconds, while top speed is limited to 155 mph.
The residents of the Midlands should look out for this impressive new police cruiser, not that anyone could miss it!
