2011 Kia Forte Five-Door
 
The Kia Forte line-up has just received a new member to sit next to the sedan and Koup versions: a five-door version that will go on sale in October. The 2011 Forte 5-door version will be available will all the options from the sedan, but will also include a new front grille, alloy wheels, lower valence design, center console, paddle shifters, push-button start and navigation. Under the hood there will be a choice of the 2.0 and 2.4-liter engines and a new six-speed manual or automatic transmission. Basically, Kia has taken the Forte and Koup, added a fifth door, and made some additional minor adjustments. Voila, a whole "new" car. Press release after the jump. The Kia Forte Koup is, top to bottom, one of the best models in Kia’s line-up - and that’s saying a lot. Fortunately for our neighbors in the Great White North, Kia will be releasing an upgraded package of the Forte Koup exclusively for them - a new R package that will be available for either the SX or EX model. Among the new features included in the R package includes a performance exhaust, AIM drop-in performance air filter, stiffer springs, a strut tower brace, front skirts, side sills and a rear spoiler. The package is finished by 18-inch Europa wheels that are wrapped in Yokohama S-Drive rubber. Sadly, the package comes with no performance upgrades, although we’re sure that those lucky Canadians wouldn’t mind it one bit because the car looks extremely awesome. 2010 Kia Forte

The Soul is erasing the memories of the soulless Rio, and now the Forte is adding style that the Spectra never had. prices range from $13,695 to $18,495. The 2010 Forte is being offered in three different trims: EX, LX and SX. Forte LX and EX are powered by a 2.0 Liter DOHC four cylinder engine, producing 156 HP and 144 lb-ft of torque, that features Continuously Variable Valve Timing (CVVT) and multi-port electronic fuel injection. The SX features an upgraded 2.4 Liter inline four cylinder engine, also with CVVT, which delivers 173 HP. Why are we excited about a new little Kia? Well, budget-friendly Kia seems to be starting to turn a corner. Its Euro-only Cee’d has been getting good reviews for style and performance. Kia unveiled the Koup concept in 2008 at the New York Auto Show. Only one year later, at the same show, the Korean automaker brought out the Forte Koup, a model that kept quite faithful to the original concept. The Forte Coupe will be offered in EX and SX versions, with prices starting at $16,595 and $17,695, respectively. The idea for the car is simple: a sleeker two door coupe version of the Forte sedan, this also means that the engine lineup will carry over from the sedan. The Koup will be available with either a 2.0 Liter four cylinder making 156 HP and a larger 2.4 Liter four banger putting out 173 HP. In either case, both engines are mated to either a six speed manual or a five speed automatic transmission. With standard equipment including: air conditioning, a driver’s seat height adjuster, adjustable rear seat headrests, tilt steering column, rear defroster, center console with dual cup holders, map lamps and variable intermittent wipers. It will be available in three trim levels (LX, EX and SX) and will go on sale this summer with prices starting from $13,695 for the LX trim, from $15,795 for the EX and from $17,195 for the SX. The new compact car was launched in its home market of South Korea this week, but isn’t expected in the U.S. until the middle of next year. Why are we excited about a new little Kia? Looks like the 2010 Kia Forte is hungry for competition. It’s not hard to agree that the Forte is a much nicer looking car than the Spectra it will replace, but it may be setting its sights too high. Then again, it would be funny if they aired this commercial in the U.S. Then owners could get license plates like "I8ABNTLY".
Kia Forte - new details revealed
Kia today revealed new informations about the 2009 Forte. The new sedan will come to replace the current Spectra. The 2009 Forte grew in every dimension compared to Sentra: a length of 4530 mm and 1775 mm width, meaning wider by 65 mm and 25 mm longer, but in the same time is more fuel efficient than the predeceasing model. Forte will initially be available with a choice of two different engines - one 1.6 liter petrol and 1.6 liter turbo-diesel. The all-new 1.6L direct injection common rail diesel engine, features an electrically actuated advanced variable geometry turbocharger to ensure clean emissions and lively performance. The engine is packing 128 horsepower and achieves 16.5 km/L. Also included in the range, will be a revised 1.6L Gamma engine, creating 124 horsepower and 159 lb/ft of torque. Mated to the automatic transmission, it will provide the fuel economy of 14.1 km/L. These numbers outperform it’s main domestic rivals (Hyundai Elantra and Samsung SM3) by up to 15 percent. The Forte will come with a list of premium features usually reserved for higher-end Kia models. Forte will be available with smart key, Push-Start button, voice-activated navigation system, Bluetooth devices, 17-inch alloys with 215/45R17 wheels, wing mirror indicators and factory installed sunroof.
2009 Kia Forte - first official images
Kia revealed the first images of the 2009 Forte, the replacement for the aging Spectra/Cerato compact. The 2009 Forte was designed by Peter Schreyer, who was responsible for designing the first-generation Audi TT and Volkswagen New Beetle. It features the same grille found on the KOUP Concept and has elements from the KEE Concept.  The Forte will be powered by a brand new 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine. A more powerful 2.0-liter 4-cyliner engine will be released after the launch. Sales on the US market will begin in 2009, with a two-doors version to follow a few months later. Kia Forte teaser image
At the beginning of June we brought you the first official sketch of the 2009 Kia Forte. Today is time for a new one! The Forte will make its official debut on 21st August. New Kia Forte will take many of its styling cues from the KOUP concept - that debuted at New York International Auto Show- and signals the new design direction for Kia brand. The 2009 Forte will come to replace the current Spectra. More details will follow soon! Stay tuned!
