2011 Kia Rio B-Spec Race Car

The run up to one of our favorite auto shows has begun and we’re already getting a few looks at some of the cars that are expected to be in attendance.

One of the early reveals is the Kia Rio B-Spec Race Car, the Korean automaker’s very first B-Spec offering. The car was developed by Kinetic Motorsports and will be unveiled at SEMA in a month’s time.

For their part, Kia may not have the same cache as the likes of Toyota and Honda in B-Spec racing, but that certainly doesn’t mean that they’re not looking at breaking into the scene like gangbusters.

The car itself already comes packed with plenty of technical and mechanical modifications, complete with a fully decked red-and-white racing livery, a new suspension set-up comprising of a MacPherson strut front suspension and torsion beam rear axle, a roll cage, and plenty of additional racing safety equipment.

As for the powertrain, the car is expected to carry the same engine set-up as its stock counterpart. What that means is that the Rio B-Spec Race Car will carry a 1.6-liter direct-injection four-cylinder engine that produces 138 HP and 123 lb-ft of torque. Kinetic Motorsports will also leave open the option of tweaking the output to squeeze in as much extra horsepower as it could within the rules.

"With the rapid development of the Kia Racing program and the launch of the 2012 Rio five-door, we have a unique opportunity to introduce Kia to a new and passionate racing community," said Michael Sprague Kia Vice President of Marketing and Communications.

The graphic design of this race car is truly so striking for it, and I must that I love the over-all features that this car had but not on its engine. I just don’t think that it will be quite good enough for it.

Well, I just only hope that the engine of this one will be enough for it, so that it can really be performed great. Anyway, I also love the design of this race car had.

I like the uniform of this race car! It is absolutely very striking and looking so awesome but just like them. I have a big doubt on its engine. I really don’t think that it will work.

Is the engine that it had been just enough for a race car? Well, I’m quite confused about that but anyway, I can’t see anything wrong with the looks of this race car, instead I feel so fond with it.

To be honest, I am not really that amazed with Kia cars, but I have to say that this one is impressive. Fits for a real fight in a racetrack. It is cool more because of its design in color red.

This racing prototype by Kia is a really a good-looking one, and the design that it had only emphasized the aggressiveness on its appearance, but I wonder if the engine that it had is just quite good enough for it.

It was still so cute for me despite of having an aggressive design and appearance. smiley but I have to ask this, is the engine that it had, can give a quite good enough performance for this race car?

Impressive race car! For me the best of all race car is Volkswagen car. The angst of this car is really great. And I like the design and style of this car. This is one of my bet race car.

This car is really cool. It seems that its color suits within its size and design. When you look at it, you may think that it can be use as a car racer. It is much like of a ferrari because of its color.

I love the sporty appearance of this race car. It had so much angst and aggressiveness expressing, but I must say that I’m kind of having a doubt on its engine. Is it can really give a better performance on this car?

Who would have thought Kia can compete with the likes of Honda and Toyota. This car is less expensive but it’s worthwhile having it.

This 2012 Honda release is a must wait. Seems that the exterior of the old CRV is modified aggressively, but the design looks weird now. The rumors about the added seats is an advantage to family sizes.

The concept this Volkswagen race car is great. I like the style and the design of this car. I want to watch the performance of this car in live. And I suggest. Kindly post the interior picture of the car.

This one has an ideal hatchback concept, I like the red and white-painted style. However, something seems to miss, I haven’t seen much of the interior and engine specs.

I must say that I’m impressed with the few changes that they do on this Rio B-Spec Race car though it is already looking so great on its previous appearance, but this new look of it adds more appeal on this race car and the engine is quite impressive either.
