Drive channel continues its "Inside Koenigsegg" web series with a new episode that talks about the internal combustion engines used in the Koenigsegg supercars. In this episode, alongside Christian Von Koenigsegg you will see Urban Carlso. Both they are talking about the company’s Free Valve technology that does not require a camshaft to run. This engineering is pioneered by Koenigsegg for future use, but is already running in a Saab 9-5 test mule.

This system has been developed by Cargine and it simply being called "Free Valve system." It allows the timing of the intake and the exhaust system to be programmed independently. The engine can then "decide" based on driving conditions which one to use to maximize performance. This allows a greater degree of control over the engine which in turn provides significant performance benefits.

It is believed that this system will enter mass production is 12-18 months.

It looks like Koenigsegg is also planning something big for the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. The problem is that all the Swedish maker released so far is a teaser image that pretty much says nothing about what we are going to see. All the teaser image says is "celebrate 0-100-10 with Koenigsegg Automotive at Geneva 2013," meaning pretty much nothing.

Our first instinct was to think of a supercar that goes from 0 to 100 mph in just 10 seconds, but the Agera R already does it in 7.5 seconds, so developing something slower makes no sense. So, what could it be? People online are talking about 100 cars in 10 years (wait, what?) or the celebration of its 10 years of production at the new plant in Angelholm Sweden, but this is very unlikely.

No matter the explanation, Koenigsegg managed to capture our attention and we are pretty sure this was pretty much its intention. So stay tuned to see what it had in mind.

Drive channel continues its "Inside Koenigsegg" web series with a new episode that presents the Agera’s electronic brain. In the first episodes we became used to seeing Christian Von Koenigsegg talking about the company’s impressive supercar , in the sixth episode we will see Koenigsegg’s E-Controller Developer, Mattias Rosengren, explain to us "the elegance of the bespoke electronic controllers that comprise the brain and soul of a Koenigsegg." The bespoke electronic system controls how the chassis, suspension, engine and transmission behave.

As a reminder, the 2013 Agera R is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 with twin turbochargers that delivers a total of 1,140 horsepower - a power improvement of 25 horsepower over the 2011 model year. The supercar will go from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds and up to an amazing top speed of 273 mph. Of course, if you were impressed by it, you’ll have to prepare to pay big for one: around $1.6 million.

In the fourth episode of Drive’s ongoing “Inside Koenigsegg” web series, Christian Von Koenigsegg explained how the interior of the Agera R comes together. Now in the fifth episode, it is time to take the supercar to the racetrack.

This time around, however, Christian Von Koenigsegg takes a little break and the man behind testing and tuning every single Agera R produced, Robert Serwanski, comes into the picture. He takes the Agera R onto the racetrack and pushes it to the limit and back – the perfect prep before delivering an Agera R to its owner.

Before you say his job is pretty easy, keep in mind that he has to turn around and tell Koenigsegg engineers where the car needs to be improved, depending on its responses in certain driving conditions.

We have already learned how a supercar is painted and what the Triplex Suspension system really is. The fourth episode from Drive’s ongoing Inside Koenigsegg web series reveals details on how the interior of the Agera R is produced.

The video focuses heavily on how Koenigsegg builds the supercar’s innovative lighting system called "Ghost light." This system uses invisible nanotubes and billet aluminum buttons that allow them to illuminate and create a stunning lighting effect, thus its ghastly name.

The development process is, once again, explained by Koenigsegg founder, Christian Von Koenigsegg who explains the entire development process, starting with each separate item and ending with the final product which needs to be "really special and unique, and functional of course!" Quite a remarkable and ingenious system, in our opinion.

The Inside Koenigsegg web series produced by the YouTube channel, Drive, is now on its third episode. After talking about their use of carbon fiber and their Triplex Suspension system in episode 2, episode No. 3 dives into the painting process of their supercars.

If you wanted to know how tedious and expensive the painting process of Koenigsegg’s supercars is, you better take the time to watch this episode. Koenigsegg claims that the polishing process on the supercars take around 200 hours of labor, a staggering amount of time that highlights the precision and attention to detail being paid to ensure the cars radiate the extensive work put into them.

As always, Koenigsegg founder, Christian Von Koenigsegg, is the voice behind the episode and he further discusses the kind of coating the vehicles receive in order to withstand the wear and tear caused by environmental factors.

Arguably the most fascinating of the three episodes; this one is a must-watch if you want to know exactly the detail and labor that goes in to make sure that the Ageras of the world look like the million dollars their price tags suggest they are.

Drive’s ongoing Inside Koenigsegg web series is only on its second episode and yet we feel like we’ve already gotten more than what we bargained for.

Following up on their feature regarding their use of carbon fiber on their supercars, Koenigsegg takes the time in the second episode to discuss another one of their components, the Triplex Suspension system.

As far as the discussion of the system is concerned, the episode was narrated - again - by Koenigsegg founder and CEO Christian Von Koenigsegg, who in turn dives deep into the one-off Agera S supercar to discuss the unique suspension setup that’s been designed to provide versatility whenever the Agera S is on the track or on the road.

It’s another top-quality production from the folks over at Drive and something that is definitely worth seven minutes of your time. So go ahead, fellow motorheads, hit play and watch the video. You’ll be happy you did.

A few days ago, Drive released a teaser video for the new "Inside Koenigsegg" Web series, which will take a closer look at the Swedish supercar maker and will explain how the company creates its amazing supercars. The host of these nine episodes will be company founder and principal, Christian Von Koenigsegg.

The first episode (above) offers a look behind the scenes at the Koenigsegg factory and examines how innovation within the highest echelon of sports car manufacturers will affect the broader automotive world.

During this first episode, Christian Von Koenigsegg reveals the secrets behind building automotive components from carbon fiber and how important this high-end material is. You will learn why more and more automakers are starting to use this high-tech material, despite its pretty high price.

It’s not exactly National Geographic’s Megafactories series, but Koenigsegg and Drive are teaming up to create a special web series that will take a closer look at the Swedish supercar maker and how the company creates its mind-boggling exotics, beginning with the Agera R .

The series, which will make its debut on Drive’s YouTube channel this coming January 8th, will begin with "Inside Koenigsegg" and will be hosted by no less than the company’s founder, Christian Von Koenigsegg.

For the first episode, Inside Koenigsegg will detail the automaker’s extensive use of carbon fiber on its vehicles and touch on the importance and significance of the high-end material. From there, future episodes will delve into other important aspects of the automaker’s building process, including engine development, aesthetic designs on both the exterior and interior, and production testing to ensure that the supercars are up to the standards of Koenigsegg.

Earlier this year at Top Marques, Koenigsegg unveiled a one-off Agera X . Now, after only eight months since its official debut, the car has been listed on Jameslist and can be yours for €888,888 (about $1.1 million at the current exchange rates). We know Christmas is over, but this can be the best gift for you for the New Year.

This Agera X is Koenigsegg’s chassis No. "88" and the eighth Agera ever built. The supercar features a matte-black exterior paint combined with a white, red and black interior. Under the hood, the Agera X keeps the usual 4.7-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 engine that delivers a total of 926 horsepower and a peak torque of 811 pound-feet. This engine will rocket the car from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.1 seconds and allow it to hit a top speed of 245 mph.

The car is currently registered to the Principality of Liechtenstein.
