You all know that the Reventon was Lamborghini’s star at the Frankfurt Auto Show. But not many of you know that the Reventon could have been overshadowed by a faster super with a more aggressive design, but never destined to go into production.

The supercar we are talking about was named after the founder of Automobili Lamborghini, Ferruccio Lamborghini. It is based on the drivetrain of the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 which is powered by a 6.5 litre V12 producing 640 horsepower and 660Nm of torque.

The Lamborghini Ferruccio uses early Lamborghini models for design inspiration but with a modern twist. The "eyelash" headlight clusters are a contemporary interpretation of the units found on the Lamborghini Miura, while the fixed rear elevated haunches are similar to those on the Countach, these also help to channel air into the engine bay. The "recessed’ fan intakes on the bonnet are also reminiscent of the Lamborghini Jota of 1971, unique design cues are the swooshing, sweeping concave and convex lines running across the sides of the Lamborghini Ferruccio’s body.

Ferruccio Concept was supposed to be built in only 10 unit: 5 coupe and 5 spiders, but when the concept was ready the company only had 3 orders for the supercar, none of which paid! The price was supposed to be around 1.5 million euro, so the company is now working on a new version, with lowered production cost.
