Mechanics crash another Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SuperVeloce

We certainly hope this isn’t becoming a trend similar to the one that plagued the Ferrari 458 Italia, but there’s beginning to be an increasing number of incidents involving Lamborghini car crashes.

There was an incident involving a Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Roadster that crashed last weekend. Turn the calendar a few more days and we have another Lambo meeting the same fate. This time, the supercar is a Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SuperVeloce that crashed after two mechanics in Germany decided to take it for a nice little joyride after having its oil changed. As is the case with reckless mechanics these days, they ended up crashing the LP670-4 SuperVeloce so bad that the two suffered some pretty serious injuries.

And if that isn’t enough, the incurring damages resulting from the crash are a staggering €400,000 – that’s over half-a-million dollars if you convert it to Benjamins.

Talk about a double whammy, huh? We’re just hoping that those two mechanics recover from their injuries, although we’re thinking that the pain from the accident won’t be as bad as having to foot the bill for repairing that crashed Lamborghini.

Video: Lamborghini LP670-4 R-SV spotted at the Spa Francorchamps

Tired from the extensive coverage of the Paris Motor Show? Yeah, you’re not alone. Fortunately, we found something that should afford you a few minutes of down time. You know how we auto-holics roll, right? Anytime we need to relax, we scour the Internets for the latest supercar video, we put on our headphones, we amp up the volume, and we sit back and relax.

In this video, we have the racing version of Lamborghini’s vaunted Murcielago LP670-4 SuperVeloce supercar, the LP670-4 R-SV. Now, we’ve seen and heard what the LP670-4 SV is capable of, but a racing spec version of the Murcielago SuperVeloce racing at the FIA GT1 at Spa?

Trust us, no amount of describing it will do justice to just watching the video and hearing that piercing roar as it runs down a lap at the famed Spa Francorchamps racing circuit in Belgium.

After what has been a pretty hectic weekend, this is the perfect way to welcome a new week: nothing but pure, unadulterated power.

Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 and Bugatti Veyron involved in two separate crashes over the weekend

Germany is supposed to be one of the few places in the world where supercars can stretch their legs and just go all-out without the worry of being flagged. That’s why it bums us out after hearing that two separate accidents occurred in Germany over the weekend involving two of the most popular – and expensive – exotics out on the planet.

The first accident occurred in a town called Vaterstetten where a Lamborghini Murcielago LP-640 that was being driven by a 32-year old spun out of control after – what else? – the driver decided to run it faster than he should have. If that wasn’t bad enough, a separate crash occurred near Geiselwind involving a Bugatti Veyron who, just like the Murcielago, had a pretty overeager driver determined to show off his car’s power only to end up losing control of it and crashing it in the process.

Both drivers escaped the crashes without any major injuries although with the current state of their prized exotics, it’s a safe bet that they’re bank accounts won’t be healthy in the foreseeable future.

Video: Underground Racing’s flame-spitting Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SuperVeloce

If the name ‘Underground Racing’ ever finds its way into a dictionary, you can be sure that the its definition would probably include a photo or two of some of those ridiculous Lamborghinis the tuning house has tinkered with over the years.

Not one to disappoint its followers, Underground Racing is at it again. This time, the object of their affection – and toolboxes, for that matter – is a Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SuperVeloce. It goes without saying that tuning an already divine supercar is a slap in the face to all other sports cars in the world, especially one that’s already as powerful as a LP670-4 SuperVeloce. But Underground Racing never seems to be content with anything Lamborghini has already done, determined to get every single ounce of power the car can offer. The result is a performance package that boosts the supercar’s 6.7-liter V12 to over 1,100 horsepower. Before you go bananas over that number, here’s another one that should send you back to earth. The entire package starts at $129,000.

A lot of us don’t have the money for the UG package, let alone for an LP60-4 SuperVeloce. But thanks to the wonder that is the Internet, we can watch a teaser video of the superduper car, complete with flames coming out of its exhaust.

2010 Lamborghini Murcielago by Status Design

The current Lamborghini Murcielago may be coming to an end, but that doesn’t mean tuners are going to stop tuning the hell out of it until the crowd stops begging for more, and let’s face it, no one is going to stop wanting to see different versions of such a beautiful and powerful vehicle. The next tuning firm to attack the Italian Stallion is the Russian tuner, Status Design. They are the ones that tuned up the Ferrari F430 back in July and the BMW X6 back in June.

The package for the Lamborghini includes a BF-performance carbon hood and front spoiler, carbon fiber garnish to the headlights and side mirror caps, carbon inserts on the side-moldings on the door pillar, side sills, and engine cover, and a BF-performance rear spoiler.

The interior gets orange alligator leather on the seats, formed aeronomik of the steering wheel with orange and black carbon moldings, armrests in black and orange carbon, and the central tunnel decorated with orange carbon. And to make the car sound even more perfect, the tuner also added a new audio system that includes a Player Macintosh 40.01; The front speakers Helix Brax Matrix; Back speakers Helix RS; Subwoofer; Amplifier Audison VRX 420.6; Acoustic and line wires Furutech and Audinot; Condenser Helix.

Although the orange and black is a little to ghouls and goblins for us, we would be crazy to even think of turning a car like this down for any reason. In fact, we would probably even go ahead and add the orange exterior and matte black wheels with the orange strip just to make this ultimate Murcielago complete.

Video: 1100 HP Lamborghini Murcielago twin-turbo

Underground Racing will unveil a Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 Super Veloce Twin Turbo at the upcoming Paris Auto Show. And this is the first video that, unfortunately, reveals next to nothing from the car, but that proves the upgraded Lamborghini will be fast as hell! Under the hood there will be no less than 1100 HP that, when powered with racing fuel, can get 1300hp!

Underground Racing’s Murcielago won’t be the only supercar attending the party as Lamborghini has already stated that the next and last Murcielago will also be making its appearance known at the Paris Auto Show. The Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce will be the last version of the Murcielago built, but it’s also going to be the most powerful Murcielago ever. With 670 hp and a weight reduction of 220 lbs, the LP 670-4 SV makes the 0 to 60 mph sprint in 3.2 seconds and can hit a top speed of 212 mph. This is shaping up to be an extraordinary show!

Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Axiom by RENM

After the R8 Enigma and the RM580, RENM is also revealing a tuning package for the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640. The tuner is offering two levels of customizations. The first level includes an ECU re-calibration and sports air-filters and takes the V12 engine’s output to a total of 665 HP (up from a standard of 580 HP).

And if this power does not satisfy you, RENM is also offering a complete back-pressure controlled exhaust system, revised sports camshafts, cylinder head conditioning and ECU re-calibration. The results is an impressive 715 HP.

RENM revealed no details on how this upgrades improve the supercar’s performances, but we expect to see a considerable increase of the 211 mph top speed.

Next to the engine upgrade, the Axiom tuning programme also includes 19 inch carbon/forged three piece wheel design that includes forged aluminum outer shells with titanium reverse fasteners and carbon-fibre cross sections. Other wheels dimensions are available ranging between 19 and 22 inch.

Lamborghini’s new Murcielago- first teaser revealed

As you know Lamborghini will unveil the Murcielago’s replacement at the Paris Auto Show at the end of the month. But today the Italian company revealed the first teaser of the future supercar and the next statement: "Lamborghini. Sound and light. Paris 2010. Discover the way to the future of supersports cars." Not much of course, but just enough to make us wishing the show starts earlier.

Rumored to be called Jota, the future supercar will be shorter and weigh about 300lbs. less than the Murcielago. It will be built on a new carbon-fiber tub and will use as much aluminum and carbon fiber as possible to reduce weight. The Jota will hit a top speed of 230mph and will sit on new 21" wheels over upgraded Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes. It will also come with Audi’s torque vectoring technology which offers even better handling.

Stay tuned! We’ll get back with more details soon!

Top Gear USA gets introduced to the Raging Bull from Sant’Agata

Top Gear USA has a long way to go to even be mentioned in the same breath as their counterparts from the UK, but as this new trailer of the show suggests, they’re off to a pretty good start.

Unlike the last trailer we saw of Adam Ferrara driving a ’76 Cadillac Deville through a “moonshine” run dirt course, this new trailer features the type of cars that we’re getting all excited about: three Lamborghinis!

Not only are they three Lambos, but their three special edition models, too. There’s the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, the Gallardo Valentino Balboni Edition, and the Murcielago SuperVeloce. That’s a lot of snorting bulls in a two-minute trailer.

More importantly though is that the three hosts - Ferrara, Tanner Foust, and Rutledge Wood - seem to be in their element behind the wheel of these Lamborghinis. Whereas they didn’t show a whole lot of testosterone in the last trailer, this one’s got them in fair amount of supply.

Like we said, they still have a long way to go before they can stack up against the iconic trio of Clarkson, May, and Hammond. But if they can have more supercars in their show and a little less giggling and high-fiving, then they should be in good shape.

Pink Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 Super Veloce gets impounded in London

We don’t know if law enforcement officials in London have a certain bias against supercars, but it seems that just about all the recent videos we see of exotics in the streets of London are either getting pulled over, clamped, or impounded.

A few weeks ago, it was the pair of turquoise supercars – one was a Koenigsegg CCXR; the other was a Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 Super Veloce – getting clamped. Now, we have a pink Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 Super Veloce getting pulled over by the London police for revving. Coincidentally enough, the video also shows the two aforementioned turquoise exotics that we’re assuming are the same two cars that were clamped a few weeks ago.

As the turquoise LP670-4 SV was leaving, the driver starts revving his supercar to get some attention to which the pink LP670-4 SV responded with a rev of his own. Unfortunately, the driver failed to notice that a patrol car was lurking just behind him. As a result, the supercar was pulled over and after a few questions and requests for documents – not all of which were produced – the London police decided it would be prudent if they just impounded the pink supercar until all documents were produced.

Check out the two videos to see how the whole thing played out. Video number 2, which shows the police officer’s flustered attempts in driving the supercar, can be seen after the jump.
