It’s hard to sell a used car these days, even if it’s only gone 73 miles. It probably doesn’t help that this Lamborghini Reventon cost about $1.5 million when new. So how should a Silicon Valley area dealer try to move its off the used car lot? Why not make it sound more rare.
For staters the car is described as one of ten imported to the U.S., but production numbers are double that. Also the is listed as having its power increased to 660 hp, but all Reventons have 660 hp. The increase is reffering to the 20 hp boost over the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 from which the Reventon is heavily based.
C’mon guys, you don’t need to try to drum up sales by trying to make your Reventon special. One of twenty made, 0 to 60 in 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 211 mph should be good enough for any Google executive to take notice.
There is no price tag revealed on the newest presidential limo. But if a country’s wealth is somewhat related to the presidential motorcade, then having a fleet of exotic cars including the 1 of 20 Lamborghini Reventon seems a little odd for the poverty stricken Chechen Republic.
President Ramzan Kadyrov doesn’t necessarily have to drive the Reventon because there are over 50 cars in the whole fleet. In a group that large, going for a Sunday drive can’t be that exhilarating. But it probably does help that the entire motorcade takes care of blocking all the roads for the prez.
The final bull has left the corral. If you were still hopping to buy the million-euro (over $1.25 million) Lamborghini Reventon, it’s time to check the auctions. According to Lamborghini, the final Reventón is now in the hands of its owner.
The U.K.-bound V12 Reventón, number 20 of 20, has a minimum 650 hp and a top speed in excess of 211 mph (no one has had one long enough to get a real test.) This now concludes Lambo’s Reventón project. If you feel like you missed out, remember these car were not exactly sitting on the lots. Each ultr-exclusive supercar was sold prior to its public reveal in September 2007.
The buyer, who wishes to remain nameless, seems like the kind of collector we like. He promises to drive the car instead of letting it collect dust as a trailer queen. He also says that he may let the U.K.’s only Reventón come out and play at motorsport and social events.
One of the most exclusive cars in the world (limited to only 20 units) was sold for $2,5 million on eBay. The lucky owner is from somewhere in California. He bought a Reventon with a mileage of only 73 miles.
The Reventon is powered by the same 6.5 liter V12 as the Murcielago LP640 but gets an additional 20 horsepower now producing a total of 660 bhp and a top speed of 211 mph. The car features very distinct styling both inside and outside which is inspired by aircraft and the body is made entirely of carbon fiber as well as significant portions of the interior. The car features all LED and Xenon headlights which is a first in the automotive industry. Only 10 Lamborghini Reventon’s have been built for the US, making it one of the most exclusive cars available today.
Lamborghini is bringing a few of its “must-see” cars to the Concours d’Elegance at Pebble Beach this weekend. Included in this showcase will be the 2009 Gallardo LP560-4, 2008 Reventón and the 1989 Lamborghini P140 prototype.
The 2009 Gallardo LP560-4 is the latest from Lamborghini. It replaces the current Gallardo by offering a new 5.2 liter V-10 engine, permanent four-wheel drive transmission and an improved suspension.
The Reventón is Lamborghini’s ultra-exclusive supercar. It is Lamborghini’s most powerful and most expensive car ever. It is built from carbon fiber, and there are only 20 in the world. Although the mechanics are heavily based on the Murciélago LP640, the output of Reventón’s 6.5-liter V-12 is upgraded to 650 horsepower.
The P140 is significant because it bridges the gap between the Jalpa and the Diablo. The Jalpa was the “affordable” Lamborghini. It was built to compete with sub-supercar types, similar to the current Gallardo. Although it was never it was put into production, the P140 provides a clear visual evolution that took Lamborghini into the 90s.
If you’re one of the 20 luckiest people who will buy a Lamborghini Reventon unit, then you will definitely be interested about this new set of wheels manufactured by Forgiato. For those who don’t know the Reventon has 650 hp and can hit 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds. Due to this, the 20 inch Estremo wheels are manufactured carefully in order to support these performances. No words about the price yet!
The city of Turin looked to the sky today to see the new heights achieved by Lamborghini. The Lamborghini Reventón was carried by military helicopter over the automotive capital of Italy, thanks to the special co-operation of the Marina Militare Italiana (the Italian marines). It landed on the rooftop of the Lingotto building, and closed a conference hosted today by Lamborghini, entitled ”Lamborghini and speed – a project in record time”.
The conference explored the extraordinary timescales and design and production abilities demonstrated by Lamborghini in producing its € 1 million euro supercar, of which all 20 units have been sold worldwide. The conference was attended by local, international and academic VIPs including representatives from the automotive industry. Lamborghini’s conference was part of the “Turin 2008 – World Design Capital” programme of events.
The Lamborghini Reventon is limited to only 20 units; 19 of them were pre-sold for a price around $1.4 Million. The last of them, the first and only Reventon available for private sale arrived in Las Vegas. So, if you want a Reventon and have like $1.5 million (considering is the last one the price will be higher) here’s your last chance!
