Heffner isn't one of our favorite tuners because it's in our home state; its builders also turn out some of the most bad-ass cars on the planet. The latest supercar to turn hypercar after leaving Heffner’s shop is a 2008 Gallardo Superleggera.

Yeah, the Gallardo->ke375 is a bad-ass car as is, pumping out 523 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque from its 5.0-liter V-10 engine. This is enough to get this beast to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds. Just four years later, that 3.7-second time now looks like an eternity, so Heffner decided it was time to up the Superleggera’s output.

What exactly Heffner do to this 2008 Gallardo is unknown, but we have emailed them to try and get a little clarity on what performance items they have installed. We do know this much; the car features a pair of turbochargers and a fully customized exhaust system. The interior is 100 percent intact, as is its air-conditioning system.

Even at its stock weight, this Gallardo Superleggera was able to run an impressive 8.72 seconds in the quarter mile at 169 mph. As hard as it is to believe, this is the first ever 8-second Gallardo in recorded history, according to Heffner. To make it worth our while, Heffner even recorded it running the quarter-mile strip.

Make sure to crank up your speakers, as this Lambo->ke44 makes one awesome symphony of noises.
