A little while ago, a leaked document revealed everything there was to know about Lamborghini’s future line-up, and confirmed what a lot of us already knew; the Aventador will soon get a Spyder version. Scheduled to debut in 2012, the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Spyder will adopt many of the characteristics of the coupe, but altered for a wind-in-your-hair kind of look. Being since we are rather impatient when it comes to hot new vehicles, we just had to draw up the future of the Aventador. The standard Aventador is equipped with a powerful V12 engine producing 700 HP at 8,250 rpm and 509 lb-ft at 5,500 rpm. This same powerhouse will be dropped into the Spyder, whose added soft top roof will pack on a few more pounds and slow down the performance figures just a tad. That translates into a 0-60mph sprint time a shade over the coupe’s 2.9 seconds. UPDATE 06/01/2011: The Lamborghini Aventador Spyder has been confirmed for as a 2012 debut in a bit of an unusual way; via the official EPA page, where the car’s fuel economy has been listed. The Aventador Spyder will deliver a combined fuel economy of 13 mpg (11 mpg on the city and 17 mpg on the highway). UPDATE 12/12/11: Recent rumblings coming out of the Lamborghini camp has the new Aventador Spyder making its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March of next year. From what we’ve been told, the top-less supercar is already primed and ready for action and is just waiting in the wings to be revealed by Lamborghini. We now have confirmation, fellas. The Aventador Spyder will be revealed at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show! Can’t wait! Hit the jump to read more about the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Spyder. ExteriorLike with the coupe version, the upcoming Aventador Spyder will take its design inspiration from both the Reventon and the Sesto Elemento concept. Expect to see the same glossy, black frames and bi-xenon headlamps up front, as well as all of the aerodynamic elements integrated into the body shell form, from the front spoiler to the rear diffuser. The rear of the vehicle will get a lower diffuser and rear LED lights that create the same shape as the ones out front. The rear spoiler on the Spyder version will be controlled electronically just as in the coupe. InteriorThe interior of the Aventador Spyder will more than likely mirror that of the coupe with its large LCD screen for the instrumentation and a completely independent system and LCD screen which will control the stereo and navigation functions. Covering the inside of the vehicle will be full leather in either single-color or two-tone combinations. Lamborghini’s Ad Personam individualization program will allow each owner to personalize their supercar to their exact specifications. Standard equipment will include ABS, electronic brake distribution, anti-slip control, speed-dependent servo-tronic steering, hill start assist and, of course, ESP stability control. The Drive Select System enables vehicle characteristics (engine, transmission, differential, stability control, steering) to be set in accordance with individual driver preferences in one of three modes – Strada (road), Sport and Corsa (track). EngineUnder the hood, Lamborghini will place the same 6.5-liter V12 engine with an AWD layout that produces 700 HP at 8,250 rpm and 509 lb-ft at 5,500 rpm. Since the roadster version will add a few extra pounds thanks to the soft-top roof, the 0 to 60 mph sprint will be made in around 3.3 seconds, while top speed won’t be higher than 210 mph. When Can I Buy One?The new Aventador Spyder will make its official debut in early 2012, with sales beginning later that year. The Coupe is priced at $379,700, so the Spyder version should come with a price tag of around $400,000. CompetitionFinding a competitor for the Aventador Spyder would be quite a task at the moment. However, before the Aventador Spyder makes its debut in 2012, Pagani will have plenty of time to introduce its roadster version for their recently launched Huayra. The model will be powered by the same V12 engine with 700 HP and 730 lbs-ft of torque found in the coupe version, while top speed will be in the 220 mph area. McLaren has also promised a more powerful version of their latest supercar, the MP4-12C. While the current supercar is powered by a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 that produces 592hp at 7,000rpm and 443 lb-ft. of torque between 3,000 and 7,000rpm, the future version is expected to see at least 700 HP under the hood. These two supercars are both great competitors for the Aventador Spyder. We’ll know more about our preferences when each of the automakers debut their rides. 34 comments: Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Spyder Well, the new future Aventador is kind of extraordinary made,I like the color yellow design that looks so amazing and attractive to the eye-catching attention.
It is already very noticeable on its green body paint! Well, just like the other Lamborghini vehicle, I’m also so impressed with the aggressive and angst exterior appearance of it, even on its engine output.
Green car like this is great. The green color of a car is unique than the other color. I’m so amazed with the V12 engine and 700 horse power.
As expected, Lamborghini makes a great tuning for their car. The high speed performance of this car is quite impressive and its torque is just enough to make this car runs like a rocket!
hmm. Why does it takes a long before they have released a Spyder version? Based from what I known, once a production car is successful an Spyder version will automatically follow.
@ConcernCitizen as far as I know, the cheapest Lamborghinis that cost around $100 K-$200 K would be in the Gallardo line. Why are you asking that, are going to buy one yourself?
A lot of folks really can ’t wait to see the Aventador spyder. Good thing though that they are finally giving a release date for this one and we only need to wait a few months more.
Where can I find the cheapest Lamborghini? Is there any supercars from Lamborghini that’s about $100 to $200 a unit?I really love models from them especially their new supercars. But its still too expensive for everyone.
Incredible! This 2013 Spyder version really looks great. I bet it will be sold out for the end of 2013! BTW, do we need to expect that the future production of the Lambo would be in v12 technology?
