2012 Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera by Underground Racing

Just days after Heffner Performance launched their package for the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera to an 8.72 second quarter mile at 169 mph, Underground Racing is answering back with a Superleggera package of their own. The difference? Underground Racing’s Gallardo has made Heffner Performance’s quarter mile record time a distant and short-lived memory. The Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera by Underground Racing ran the quarter mile in 8.35 seconds at a speed of 181 mph.

The new Gallardo Superleggera package was specially developed for a customer who gave Underground Racing the following guidelines: "Do anything you want to it! As long as it drives like a street car and is the baddest Gallardo on the planet."

As a result of the not-so-strict guidelines, the Gallardo Superleggera by Underground Racing received a Stage 3 engine upgrade for its 5.2L V10 engine, "Quiet" Helix Billet 1st - 6th gear set and final drive gears, and a full "factory synchronized" transmission that uses all of the OEM E-Gear operating system. These additions gave way to a monstrous 1,750+ WHP (1,100 on pump gas), all while maintaining its street-legal status. The only other added feature is the new set of 18" wheels from HRE, but who really cares when you’re talking about a Gallardo Superleggera that produces that much giddy-up?

i kind of like the idea of having a gallardo that can smoke a veyron on a short race. it would be quite a surprise for the veyron owner, haha!

i so much love it when two guys argue over a >100.000$ car, when they probably don’t even have money for the badge of the car. but then again, who wouldn’t crave for a gallardo, let alone this monster!

i`m sure that people who actually have the money for cars like these know what they want. and the dude who has this car can be happy, because his dream came true: he does have the meanest gallardo out there!

Brad, some people may like the bodybuilders pure power. it all comes down to what you want: a gallardo or an extremely powerful car. if you look for the second, well, this lambo is a good option!

@Midocar: although that might be true, i stick to what Debound said. where’s the lambo in that 1000+ HP beast? it’s a lambo on lots of steroids, and it becomes something else. like those bodybuilders who barely resemble human look.

i agree, it’s not a gallardo superleggera anymore. but it’s not like it’s lambo’s fault. i mean, the guy bought the car and then he tuned it. his money, his car, his choice!

I for one don’t like it! Too bad Lamborhini is losing their idendity lately...but i guess there is always a rich prince somewhere buying for the "name"
