The cool thing about being famous, wealthy, or both, is that you can have pretty much whatever you want in this world. That includes one-off custom supercars from one of the world’s most highly regarded aftermarket companies.
That’s exactly the case for Nasser Al-Thani of the Qatar Royal family. With just about anything at his disposal, Al-Thani decided to get a Lamborghini Aventador . However, he didn’t want any old Aventador, he wanted the LP760 version from Oakley Design.
More importantly, he wanted one so unique that he commissioned the tuning company to build him one that’s as unique as they come. Originally finished in an Arancio Argos color, Oakley Design repainted the supercar with a Pearl Green finish, but that’s not the end of it. During the first coat of lacquer, Oakley Design used 18-carat gold leaf metal flakes that were supplied by none other than Nasser Al-Thani himself. Nine more coats of lacquer were used, making the body look absolutely stunning.
From there, Oakley Design used plenty of carbon fiber components on the Aventador, including a longer central front chin spoiler. The side sill intakes were opened up to improve airflow and cooling, and larger rear bumper vents were used to extract more hot air out of the car. The top air box on the supercar was also opened to increase ram-air effect on the engine. Even the diffuser now has extended vanes, thus improving the Aventador’s stability when it’s running at high speeds. Finally, the rear spoiler was set at 15 degrees to improve the top speed while also optimizing the downforce-to-drag ratio.
The exact performance numbers for this bespoke Aventador have yet to be released, but we expect it to be in the neighborhood of 760 horsepower. Whatever output this unique, one-off Aventador carries, those 18-carat gold leaf metal flakes used on the paint of the supercar is the true show stopper of the program.
