We’ve seen our fair share of exotics, special editions and concepts in the auto industry. Rare is the occasion when we’re rendered speechless and have to recover our jaws from the floor.

Today, however, both of those happened when DMC Tuning officially pulled the covers off of its latest aftermarket masterpiece for the Lamborghini Aventador, the DMC Aventador LP900 SV Limited Edition.

We have to say, the wait was arduous and a little painstaking, especially after DMC decided to inundate us with all those different teasers, causing many of sleepless nights on our end. As much as we want to blame DMC for our newly acquired insomnia, we can’t. We just can’t.

Not after it released a program that more than lives up to the buzz it’s been generating in the past few weeks. About the only thing that disappointed us with this car is the exclusivity of the program, something that you’ll find out when you go past the jump to find out more about the Lamborghini Aventador LP900 SV Limited Edition.

Exterior

Inspired by the Lamborghini Aventador J, a one-off model introduced at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show and one that naturally caused us to question why we just don’t spend all our life savings buying an Aventador, the LP900 SV Limited Edition was built by DMC with only one thing in mind: shock and awe.

And boy, did it do itself right on this one.

One - or two - of the things you’ll immediately notice are the front and rear bumpers, both of which were built completely from carbon fiber. That’s 100 percent carbon fiber, fellas. The front fascia features a wider and sharper nose, which gains its inspiration from the Aventador J. The two "J" style poles, which aren’t just for prettying up the look of the Aventador, but also serve the purpose of improving the supercar’s overall aerodynamics, also pay tribute to the Aventador J.

Notice how the sharp end of the nose drops down a little bit? That’s got Aventador J written all over it. The front end also has two Formula 1 canards that have been mounted on either side of the car, breaking enough of the airflow to allow the driver to enjoy the supreme benefits of driving a supercar as insane as this one.

Moving on to the sides, the Aventador LP900 SV Limited Edition also has side skirts that also contain the tuner’s diffuser panels -- a feature that we first saw on the Molto Veloce kit. Similarly, that enormous rear spoiler at the back and the corresponding wheelbase are also part of the Molto Veloce package.

What’s different, as you can clearly see, is the new rear bumper that comes with the same lower “tunnel” system that we saw on the Molto Veloce’s rear diffuser. A point of difference on the rear bumper is the presence of three aggressive GT fins. On top of that, the aforementioned tunnel now has a center opening, just below the custom exhaust system.

Performance

How does this Lamborghini Aventador LP900 SV Limited Edition grade on performance? If we’re rating it from 0 to 900, this is a certified 9-0-0. There’s 900 horsepower’s worth of beastliness under its hood, thanks in part to 12 unique single-intake throttle plates, one for each 6.5-liter V-12 engine’s individual cylinders. Even the gasoline pumps and lines, as well as the pressure modulators and injection nozzles are all newly installed components from DMC.

Other additions to the overall performance program include: optimized engine electronics, an electronic load pressure control system and a completely new wiring system. Lastly, a new titanium exhaust system has replaced the stock component. How’s this important? Well, for one, DMC used high-tech titanium on the new exhaust system the same material that sees use on space ships. More importantly, at least as far as performance goes, the new titanium exhaust system only weights 3.45 kg (7.6 pounds) compared to 34 kg (74.95 pounds) for the stock version.

Pricing

The LP9000 SV Limited Edition won’t be available to the public now or anytime soon. There’s only one way you are eligible to be one of the 10 lucky owners of this special edition supercar and it involves actually owning DMC’s Molto Veloce kit for the "standard" Aventador.

Can We Even Get One?

The short answer is no, unless you happen to own DMC’s regular Molto Veloce kit for the Aventador. Even after you’ve met that qualifier, you’re still subjected to a thorough screening process from DMC. Only a chosen few will be considered based on a number of criteria. From there, applicants will be carefully scrutinized by DMC, and only approved if the car, the location, the owner and the color match DMC’s "10 of 10" criteria.

Equally important is the announcement that each of the kits will only be available in one shade or body finish, which means that no two DMC SV models will be the same.
