RENM Performance doesn't think the Lamborghini Gallardo->ke375 is long in the tooth and it proved as much with the unveiling of their new program for the Gallardo, called the STS-700.

RENM's goal was to bring the car closer to the Super Trofeo Stradale -- the meanest and most powerful Gallardo ever built. Thanks to a slew of aerodynamic and mechanical upgrades that brought out the best in the Italian supercar, RENM came pretty dang close to it.

Now, this model actually has an owner already, but that doesn't mean the rest of us can't dream of having RENM Performance work their magic on our own Gallardos.

Granted, we don't have one, but for anybody else who does and is looking to give their supercar an upgrade that can go toe-to-toe with the mighty Aventador->ke3624, then by all means, get to it.

It's not often that Lamborghini's prized new supercar can get shamed by its older brother.

Pros
Cons

Exterior

First, an aerodynamic carbon-fiber body kit was installed to cut the weight of the car while also increasing its down force, improving air-flow and cooling, and reducing drag. The car's chassis and suspension were given extensive upgrades, including a wider wheel track and the addition of three-way fully adjustable dampers, an adjustable front anti-roll bar, and wishbone suspension links. All these upgrades were added to make the car suitable for use on the road and track.

Finally, a new valve-controlled titanium exhaust system was installed to improve the STS-700's flow rate while also shaving off significant weight to ensure maximum performance credentials.

Interior

Inside, the work includes a sexy matte-black finish that matches well with the dark-red exterior. Alcantara and carbon fiber were predominantly used on the lightweight race seats, an interesting route to take, given that the rest of the program comes with a customized racing equipment, like a roll cage with a four-point harnesses and a fire extinguisher. Guess the combination of function and luxury wasn't lost on RENM.

Performance

In terms of performance, the STS-700's 5.2-liter V-10 engine was given new parts to improve its responsiveness and reliability. With new titanium connecting rods, custom billet pistons, a revised crankshaft, and a compression ratio increase, RENM managed to improve the output of the Gallardo to an impressive 700 horsepower at 8,500 rpm. This nets the aging supercar a 0-to-100 km/h (62 mph) time of 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 205 mph.

Despite these staggering numbers, RENM Performance CEO Neil Meka reiterated that all that power was produced for a reason. "Improved driving dynamics and track performance are the main advantages," he said, before adding that "significant reductions in lap times were recorded throughout

the vehicle’s development.”

Pricing

RENM Performance didn't provide any details on pricing for the STS 700 and this particular model actually has an owner already, a Brazilian dude who we're guessing likes the way the program turned out.

Competition

Outside of the monstrosities Underground Racing has produced over the years, RENM Performance's program for the Gallardo is arguably one of the most powerful ever given to the supercar model. There are a few that have come close, including Wheelsandmore's "Green Beret" program for the Gallardo, which packed an improved output of 620 horsepower. While that's impressive in its own right, it still falls way short to what RENM Performance accomplished with their modifications for the Gallardo, making us prepared to make this program one of the best we've ever seen an aftermarket company do to the Italian supercar.

Conclusion

When RENM Performance set out the goal of turning this Lamborghini Gallardo into one that can match wits with the Gallardo Super Trofeo, they probably had some cynics and skeptics who thought that they wouldn't be able to accomplish that. Well, turns out they not only accomplished it; they went far and beyond all those expectations to create an aftermarket program that won't have any problems finding buyers. Heck, if we had our own Gallardo, we'd be on the phone lines feverishly trying to contact them to place an order for the STS-700 program.
