2014 Lamborghini Estoque

  Review

Lamborghini doesn’t usually build a concept car without it getting put to some kind of use in the future. It’s never happened, and we’ll place bets on the fact that it won’t ever happen. Try as they may to deny the fact that the Estoque would not see the production line, this concept vehicle stood a fantastic chance at becoming the third model in Lamborghini’s line-up.

To prove our theory, we bring you this. In a recent statement Chairman and CEO Stephan Winkelmann confirmed that the company is indeed preparing a third model, and that this new model is not an SUV as people have speculated, but a four-door luxury sedan.

"We have opportunities outside the supercar business, and we showed that with Estoque. It had a more enthusiastic response than we had expected. It was the right time to see if the brand could go outside of supercars. Even now, people are still emailing me about us making the Estoque."

And if the strong demand for a production version of the Estoque doesn’t make them actually build it, the recent success the company has been having on the Chinese market may just give Lamborghini the final push they need, especially since luxury four-door sedans are in high demand over there.

UPDATE 05/24/2011: Here’s a bit of good news for Lamborghini owners that feel a little silly dropping their kids off at school in their new Aventador LP700-4; the company has just revealed plans for a third model in their lineup that will fulfill the need for a daily driver. Lamborghini chief executive Stephan Winkelmann said, "We are going to have a third model. It has to be an everyday car. We want to have a car which is able to be used on a daily basis."

Could this be the production Estoque we have been waiting for? We think so.

Exterior and Interior

Just like the concept car, the production version Estoque will be an elegant luxury four-door sedan. It will take Lamborghini’s supercar design and combine it into a sedan with compact dimensions, exactly what it will need for great performance. The concept vehicle was 4.43 feet high, but had a long wheelbase to make the car more spacious inside. This will also allow for the low, leaning back position typical of any Lamborghini. Whaty will change for the sedan is that it will have doors that will open in a traditional front-hinged, swing out manner.

The Engine

3.

Under the hood, the production Estoque will have something along the lines of the V10 from the Gallardo LP 560-4 that produces 560hp. This engine would make it an ideal competitor for the Aston Martin Rapide which only produces 470hp.

The Competition

4.

The Lamborghini Estoque will be a competitor for models like the aforementioned Aston Martin Rapide and the Porsche Panamera, but will prove to be more luxurious. With luxury comes high prices, so we expect that the Estoque will carry a heftier price tag than its competitors.

We would also like to believe that the production version Estoque will be a competitor for the future Koenigsegg sedan. Both cars will produce the same performance numbers, but the Koenigsegg will actually be an electric vehicle.

When Can I Buy One?

2.

We will need to wait a little bit more for the production version Estoque because the successors for the Murcielago and the Gallardo come before the luxury sedan in the pecking order. Don’t expect to see it before 2014.

The luxurious and sporty look of this car gives me uncertainty to use it daily though its not ga guzzler. I think it would be better if they would come up with school bus type or whatsoever!

Wow! I think this concept is somewhat new to me. They are actually planning to released an everyday used sportscar. Since they are using the engine of the Gallardo, we have the assurance that it wouldn’t be gas guzzler. And that’s a good news!

im a fan of Lamborghini and for the first time I don’t like this new model. I think it doesn’t look balance somehow.

Definitely hard to decide which is going to be the best-looking sedan made - the Estoque or the Rapide.

I know this is blasphemous, but something about it reminds me of an American muscle car...it has like a hint of Camaro and Challenger.

We would like to believe that the production version of the 2014 Lamborghini Estoque will be a competitor for the future Koenigsegg sedan.

For sure, once the Lamborghini Estoque has been out in the market. There will be a serious competition for luxury cars between Aston Martin, Porsche and Lamborghini. Can’t wait for 2014 smiley
