The Range Rover Evoque is an all new coupe SUV that will be revealed at the Paris Motor Show at the end of 2010. It will be the smallest, lightest, and most fuel efficient Range Rover produced since Range Rover's 1970 beginning. It will be available in 4WD and 2WD.
Really, if you’ve seen their past programs, having a British SUV on that list feels a little out of place. But to their credit, they were able to build a program that boasts of impressive improvements on the Evoque’s multitude of engine options.
The base model, which carries a 2.2-liter turbo diesel ED4 or TD4 engine, B&B was able to use its Stage 1 performance kit to increase the SUV’s output from the standard 148 horsepower and 280 lb/ft of torque all the way up 177 horsepower and 332 lb/ft of torque. If the Stage 1 program isn’t enough for you, the German tuner also has a Stage 2 kit, which boasts output even further, hitting 197 horsepower and 350 lb/ft of torque.
From there, B&B turned its attention on the 2.2-liter SD4 diesel engine. Just like the base model, this engine trim is treated to two performance programs, Level 1 package that boasts the output from 188 horsepower all the way up to 227 horsepower and 354 lb/ft of torque while the Level 2 package hits all the right notes to 241 horsepower and 369 lb/ft of torque.
Finally, there’s the top-of-the-line 2.2-liter turbocharged engine that already comes with 240 horsepower in production guise. But thanks to B&B and its Stage 1 kit, that output hits 268 horsepower while the Stage 2 kit bumps it up even further to 282 horsepower. And finally, there’s also a Stage 3 kit that gives the Evoque 295 horsepower. This program, in particular, nets the SUV a new 0-62 mph time of just 6.5 seconds with a faster top speed of 143 mph.
Calling it like we see it, B&B Automobiltechnik managed to give Evoque owners not only variety, but impressive aftermarket engine improvements.
British tuner extraordinaire Kahn Design has never seen a Range Rover it didn’t fancy with a tuning program. In this particular example, Kahn brought another Range Rover Evoque] to its headquarters for a nice little aftermarket work. The result is the Evoque Dark Tungsten RS250.
Dressed in a body kit that has a plethora of new components, including 3D mesh inserts and vents on the front grille, the front and rear fascias, a matte black finished upper wing roof, copper details on the headlights, a lower boot lid spoiler, and a matte black finished rear diffuser. Matte black side vent surrounds are also part of the program, as is a matte black sump, copper-finished brake calipers, and last but certainly not least, a new set of 22" RS600 wheels with a matte grey finish and original center caps.
Inside, the Evoque Dark Tungsten RS250 was treated to some luxury goods too. The seats have been finished in quilted and perforated leather with options to use Alcantara inserts. Carbon fiber was used to finish the center console while Alcantara was used as a center dashboard trimming with contrast stitching. There’s also a special finish on the dash and custom floor mats rounding out the interior goodies.
The Range Rover Evoque Kahn Dark Tungsten RS250 is scheduled to be unveiled at the Carfest Show on August 25-26, 2012 in the UK where it will be presented by no less than BBC car guru Chris Evans. Watch out for it because there’s a chance you’re going to be mesmerized by Kahn Design’s latest pride and joy.
The Range Rover Evoque is one of the most appreciated Land Rover models among the entire Land Rover line-up. Plenty of tuners have shown interest in updating it in the past few weeks, but this latest package from German tuner, Hamann, is one of our favorites.
The new package is available for both three and five-door versions and starts with a pretty impressive exterior kit. It also continues with some changes in the SUV’s performance area. The Hamann’s Evoque has received a sportier and more masculine look, thanks to its two-part front spoiler, new tailored side skirts, and new fender flares. Hamann also opted to grow the vehicle by 70 millimeters at the front axle and 80 millimeters at the rear. The final element of the exterior is a new set of 22" aluminum wheels combined with new suspension-lowering springs that lower the car’s center of gravity by 30 millimeters.
Under the hood, the tuner is offering a performance-boosting kit which includes a high-performance exhaust system, a sports air filter, and an optimized engine map. As a result, the 2.0-liter Si4 turbocharged engine delivers an extra 38 HP (for a total of 278 HP) and the 2.2 liter diesel engine gets an extra 31 HP (for a total of 181 HP).
For the interior, Hamann is offering an extensive array of extras, ranging from personalized foot mats to a perfectly finished full leather interior.
There doesn’t seem to be an end in sight with Kahn Design’s fascination for building aftermarket programs for the Range Rover Evoque . We’ve already seen a couple of versions in the past, but we have to admit, this latest one, called the Vesuvius Copper Edition, blows anything they’ve made out of the water.
The Vesuvius Copper Evoque comes with a completely different - and better look! - than any other program we’ve seen for the SUV. Kahn Design fitted new front and rear bumper spoilers that dramatically alter the Evoque’s appearance. In addition, a new front grille was also added, as well as new fog lamps, LED running lights in the front bumper, privacy glass, stainless steel cross hair exhausts with a twin central tailpipe finished in black, a new set of 22" RS600 wheels finished in matte gray to offer a nice contrast from the SUV’s "Vesuvius Copper" exterior, and brake calipers finished in the same color of the body.
Moving into the interior, the Vesuvius Copper Evoque was treated with a package that features seats dressed in black quilted and perforated leather with Alcantara inserts and Vesuvius copper detailing. Sick as sick can be. From there, the rev counter and speedometer have been turned to red while the central glove box comes in a diamond quilted dress up. From there, the piano black carbon trim also adds a touch of sophistication to the interior look while the Vesuvius sports steering wheel comes with copper stitching. Finally, Kahn badging is present throughout the interior while the heated seats, floor mats, and aluminum machined foot pedals round out the program.
This week is a pretty big deal in England because no less than Her Royal Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, will be celebrating her diamond jubilee celebration.
And to no one’s surprise, British tuner extraordinaire Azfal Kahn and his peeps over at Kahn Design have decided to unveil their latest creation: the Range Rover Westminster Black Label Edition.
The commemorative vehicle features Kahn’s new aerodynamic styling package that includes a plethora of new components, highlighted by front and rear bumper replacements, new side skirts, LED daytime running lights in the front and rear lower bumper sections and liquid gold brake calipers.
Moreover, the package also consists of matte details, particularly the matte black tailgate trim, door handles, front bumper fog light surrounds, and side vents. Meanwhile, the front bumper lower bar and the rear diffuser both get finished in matte pearl gray, while the grille running bars have been styled in dark chrome. Rounding out the exterior modifications are a new set of 22" Kahn RS two-piece wheels and vanity plates that read "4HRH".
Inside, the "regal" modifications continue in the form of a bespoke-clad cabin that’s complemented by an RS-quilted and perforated black leather with contrast stitching, a diamond gear selector, a Churchill time clock facia insert and a Kahn key ring in red enamel.
This isn’t Kahn’s first go-around with the Vesuvius package - earlier this year, they announced the 2012 Range Rover Sport Vesuvius Edition - but this new rendition is just as striking. The tuning firm has applied the same Vesuvius package to the scintillating Evoque , which means the luxury SUV has been painted in a very cool Vesuvius orange to give that striking appearance that screams for attention.
Next to this amazing color, the Evoque has also received a full conversion kit for both the exterior and interior. For the exterior, the new Evoque Vesuvius Edition features a new front bumper, rear diffuser and side vents, all in matte pearl gray. These subtle features are highlighted by Vesuvius Orange brake calipers. The car sits on a new set of 21" unique RSXF wheels combined with a lowering sports suspension system.
For the interior, Kahn covered the door panel tops in quilted and perforated leather with orange stitching interior, while a combination of black quilted and perforated leather with alcantara inserts and Vesuvius orange leather was used for the entire car.
If you are interested, you can have the car for a total of £48,875, or about $79,000 at the current exchange rates.
Brought onto the market in the mid of 2011, theRange Rover Evoque shortly became one of the most successful models offered by Land Rover . So, as no surprise, the company will try to diversify the list of versions offered and after the previously rumored Grand Evoque andEvoque Cabrio , new details suggest that the company will also be offering a Sport version for the SUV.
In an interview with the British magazine AutoExpress, design director Gerry McGovern has suggested that such a model is being considered. Could this be a reaction to the recently announced Audi RS Q3 concept? We are not sure, but we really like the idea of seeing a sporty Evoque out there.
As for the engines to be used in the new models, rumors are talking about an updated version of the current 240bhp 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo, tuned to deliver more than 300 HP. But a 2.2-litre SD4 engine will also be offered for the diesel fans out there, also with an output increased from the current 190 HP to at least 210 HP.
However, do not get to excited, the Range Rover Evoque Sport will make its debut late in 2013.
Days leading up to its official debut, Land Rover did a little pre-emptive strike and pulled the covers off of the Evoque Victoria Beckham Edition.
Already known for being one of the best designed SUVs in the world - it recently won the 2012 World Design Car of the Year - the Range Rover Evoque was the perfect template to work on for two icons of style. And to their credit, Land Rover and Victoria Beckham succeeded in enhancing the Evoque with the finest quality materials and craftsmanship and ultra-premium interior ambience.
The exterior of the Evoque Victoria Beckham Edition was hand-finished in a high-quality matte grey paint finish. To complement the stealthy look of the SUV, Land Rover fitted the Evoque with a new set of 20" gloss black forged alloy wheels with ultra luxurious rose-gold details, a feature that’s limited to only this model.
The SUV’s interior also gets fresh new styling, highlighted by the sport design four-seats that are finished in a semi-aniline Vintage Tan leather, with a bold ’baseball’ stitch detail chosen by Victoria Beckham as a coy reference to her world-famous husband, David. The Vintage Tan leather is also present on the door inserts, the arm rests, and the central storage box lid.
Finally, the Evoque Victoria Beckham Edition comes with a bespoke, four-piece luggage set that’s made from high-quality internal structure and clothed in hand stitched black leather. Two wheeled suitcases and wash bags - "his" and "hers" - come with zip pulls finished in matte grey and linings made from microsuede.
Only 200 models of this special edition Evoque will go on sale. While the SUV is set to be available worldwide, China gets first dibs with deliveries set to begin in October 2012.
Let’s face it, the vast majority of production cars don’t look like the concept cars they’re based upon. Sure, various features may be carried over, but concept cars allow designers to go crazy and that’s exactly what they did when designing the original Land Rover LRX Concept .
It was so new and innovative that most people believed it would never reach production and if it did, it would undergo massive changes. To the world’s surprise, when it went into production in July 2011 as the Range Rover Evoque it looked almost identical to the stunning concept car. As a result of the car’s incredible styling and its on-road and off-road capabilities, the Evoque has received 103 awards to date from websites, magazines, and newspapers all across the globe.
But arguably the most prestigious award the Evoque has received so far was awarded at the 2012 New York Auto Show where the Evoque was crowned World Car Design of the Year for 2012. No less than 46 nominations were given for the award and the Evoque was shortlisted by five world renowned design experts along with the Citroen DS5 and Volkswagen Up !
Final deliberations were handed over to a panel of 66 automotive journalists from 25 different countries, before the Evoque was crowned the winner. And we can’t say we’re surprised, as it’s an immaculate bit of design and also created a completely new segment in the market.
Land Rover Design Director Gerry McGovern had the following to say, "We are honored that the Range Rover Evoque has been named 2012 World Design Car of the Year. This prestigious accolade recognizes the overwhelmingly positive response that we have received to the Evoque’s bold and dramatic design. It is a car that truly resonates on an emotional level."
The annual Vinitaly event in Italy is considered one of the most prestigious and most important exhibition of wines and spirits in the world. And as we all know in the industry, events like this are the perfect opportunity for collaborative projects.
This year, that opportunity was seized by Land Rover when they struck a partnership with the Aznom for a special and exclusive take on the popular Range Rover Evoque SUV that was dedicated to Champagne Bollinger.
The model, called the Evoque Bollinger, was dressed in a two-tone red-gold color scheme with a matching black roof that carries the famous "bubbles" logo of Bollinger. In addition, the front seat headrests inside the SUV were imprinted with "Evoque Bollinger" while the trunk was fitted with two specially-designed air-conditioned rooms that can carry a total of 12 bottles of - what else? - Champagne Bollinger.
The Evoque Bollinger Edition doesn’t appear to be an SUV for sale so those interested will have to hold on to their wallets. Chances are, though, the special edition SUV will be headed to an auction so we’ll be on the look-out for that.
