A tragic incident happened yesterday at the Las Vegas Strip when a gunmen started to fire from a Range Rover into a Maserati and caused a terrific crash. The driver of the Maserati was shot, lost control of his car and smashed into a taxi. The taxi exploded into flames, killing the driver and a passenger.

The gunfire and the collision caused another four vehicles to crash and at least four people were injured, including the passenger in the Maserati. The police offered no details on the people hurt in the incident, but they identified the driver of the Maserati as aspiring rapper Kenneth Cherry Jr. — known to the hip-hop world as Kenny Clutch. In his YouTube video he appears rapping from a silver Maserati while cruising the Las Vegas Strip.

According to sources close to the situation, Cherry was killed in the crash, but the police still have not confirmed his death.

One of the witnesses of the incident said after the crash: "There was a loud bang and I hear two other booms. I looked out my window at Caesars Palace ... and could see the fireball."

The incident happened in the same zone where Tupac Shakur was shot on September 7, 1996, while riding in a BMW with Death Row Records co-founder Marion "Suge" Knight.

LandRover RangeRover

The 2013 Range Rover has just been unveiled and it is already enjoying a huge success: the waiting list is so long that Land Rover can’t handle it. However, a leaked full guide has unveiled that the 2014 model year will bring more updates than Land Rover let on to.

The biggest update will be the replacement of the base 5.0-liter V8 engine with a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 - not a big surprise though, considering all the latest emissions and fuel consumption regulations. While the current V8 engine develops a total of 375 horsepower and 375 pound-feet of torque, the V6 will be limited to 340 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque.

Despite the 35-horsepower drop, the V6 engine will deliver impressive fuel economy: 16 mpg city, 22 mpg highway and 18 mpg combined. CO2 emissions also decrease by 22 percent. Still, begin environmentally friendly typically means you’ll have to be slower, leading to a 0-to-60 mph sprint of 7.1 – 0.6 seconds slower than the current V8 model. The V8 engine will continue to be offered with the Supercharged and Autobiography trim levels. The transmission will remain the same for both engines: a eight-Speed ZF 8HP70 automatic transmission.

It looks like for the 2014 model year Land Rover will also be reducing the prices a little bit: Adaptive Cruise Control goes down from $2,000 to $1,295 and Tow Pack will be $1,300.

The 2014 V6 version will be priced at $83,545 and the V8 version will be priced from $99,995.

Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Land Rover recently unveiled the new-generation Range Rover , but we haven’t heard anything about the more powerful Range Rover Sport . Well, the model is now back into the picture, as our spy photographers managed to catch it during its cold-weather testing in the Arctic Circle.

To help you differentiate it from the standard Range Rover, Land Rover made the Sport version slightly wider and lower, with a more sloped roofline.

Under the hood, Land Rover will borrow its engine lineup from Jaguar, meaning we will see a choice of both diesel and gasoline engines, with the 510-horsepower supercharged V-8 engine from the Jaguar XK-R at the top of the lineup. Land Rover also announced it will use lots of aluminum in the Range Rover Sport’s construction, making it a lot lighter than the current version.

Expect the new Land Rover Range Rover Sport to be unveiled in September at the Frankfurt Auto Show.

No Friday could pass without seeing a new tuning kit from Kahn Design . The latest one they have announced is the RS300 Cosworth Edition offered in a very cool Bali Blue paint finish and based on the Range Rover SUV.

The new RS 300 Cosworth package will include a 10-piece body kit featuring an extended front lower lip spoiler, exhaust side vents, an RS front grille with 3D mesh, exhaust side vents in matte pearl grey, door handles in matte pearl grey and front wheel arch LED light strips.

Kahn also installed a new quad exhaust system in stainless steel and privacy tinted glass while a new set of wheels, sized 9.5 x 22 up front and 10 x 22 at the rear, rounds out the exterior set-up.

For the interior, the tuner added quilted and perforated leather, a clock bezel – billet with Swarovski diamonds, a Cosworth time clock, a Cosworth speedo in blue, a Cosworth rev counter in yellow and Cosworth vented foot pedals in machined aluminum.

Under the hood, the updates include an arrangement of alterations to the supercharger and ECU programming so the SUV’s engine now delivers a total of 300 HP.

The new-generation Land Rover Range Rover is already receiving its second tuning kit — the first one came from Lumma Design — courtesy of Hofele Design. Hofele’s package has been dubbed "Royster GT 500" and updates the exterior and the engine of the SUV.

Under the hood is where we are most impressed, as the tuner added a power kit that can be applied to all the engines in the lineup and will increase their respective output by about 20 percent. For the 4.4-liter V-8 engine, for example, the final output number ends up at 410 horses and 531 pound-feet — up from the engine’s standard 339 horsepower and 442 lb-ft.

On the exterior Hofele added an additional front spoiler, new designed door panels with "bubbles," and painted the front grille and the new rear apron diffuser in matte black. There is also a new exhaust system with 4-tube stainless steel tailpipes in the style of "interlaced double oval,” plus a set of "Reverso II" wheels sized 9-by-20 inches and 10-by-22 inches. The tuner also installed an electric lowering module that can lower the car by up to 40 mm (1.5 inches) at speeds up to 50 mph.

For the interior, customers will get "Bi-Colour" leather in "Star-Light" design combined with lots of decorative elements.

According the Hofele, this upgrade is quick and easy to install, and requires no major modifications. It will be launched in February or March of 2013. Stay tuned for pricing!

Friday has come and gone, but we definitely did not forget a weekly tradition. No, we don’t have an office toga party to celebrate the weekend. We are talking about Kahn Design and its tradition of releasing a new body kit each Friday.

Today the tuner unveiled the Range Rover Sport Mille Miglia Edition — a tribute to the famous Mille Miglia open-road endurance race which took place in Italy from 1927 to 1957. This special edition is based on a 2013 Land Rover Range Rover Sport 3.0 SDV6 HSE and adds a sharp styling package that makes the Rover look better than ever.

The styling package includes an extended front lower lip spoiler, a new front grille with 3d mesh, carbon tailgate trim and privacy tinted glass. The SUV will be offered with a set of 22-inch RS 600 wheels combined with RS vented front and rear wheel arches with integrated front air dams and brake calipers in red.

On the inside, the package adds lots of leather, aluminum, carbon fiber and, most importantly, a clock bezel surround finished with Swarovski diamonds. As usual Kahn Design is offering its customers the possibility to express their own personality when comes about stylizing this special Range Rover.

Land Rover recently released the new Range Rover and Lumma Design has already developed a CLR R body kit for it. The first body kits will be available in April 2013.

The body kit includes a new front spoiler with a large vent in the center and an integrated cup spoiler sword. Lumma Design then made the SUV 50 mm (1.96 inches) wider on each side by adding wider wheel arches on the front and rear axles and extending side skirt panels.

The front grille has also been remodeled and the hood is now made from carbon fiber. The last pieces of the aerodynamic package include a new carbon-fiber rear bumper and diffuser, full-carbon tailpipe deflectors, and an extended roof spoiler with additional brake lights. The car sits on a set of 22-inch wheels wrapped in 315/30R22 tires.

This Lumma Design kit also includes an upgrade to the Range Rover’s 5.0-liter V-8 engine in the form of a new stainless-steel exhaust system, which bumps the horsepower from 510 to 540. The exhaust system boasts a throttle control system to adjust the amount sound escapes the muffler. Lumma is still working on this package and promises a 560-horsepower kit is on its way. Also in the works are packages to cover the diesel engines.

To add a sportier look and feel, the tuner installed a special sport suspension module that lowers the car’s ride by 40 mm (1.57 inches).

It looks like Land Rover has big plans for the next eight years. Apparently, the company plans to unveil no less than 16 new models and we have the entire list of those models to share. This list comes courtesy of Autocar, who has featured the upcoming models divided into three categories: luxury (Range Rover ), leisure (Discovery /Freelander ), and utility (Defender ).

The first category includes most of the new models like the new Range Rover model and its Sport variant, the Evoque XL and an Evoque Cabrio version, and a new baby Evoque. For the second category, Land Rover plans to offer a new Discovery plus a Luxury version, a Freelander “Super” Seven-Seater and a “Super” Five-Seater, plus a new baby Freelander featuring the same size as the Evoque.

These vehicles all sound rather promising, but we’ll just have to wait and see if they all really debut as planned.

Another day, another cool tuning package from Kahn Design. Based on the Land Rover Range Rover , their latest RS300 Cosworth package features the typical exterior and interior upgrades found on their British luxury lineup, but this time, there’s a little more juice as well.

The RangeRover was painted in a sleek Santorini Black exterior paint finish that was then accentuated by an elegant RS300 styling package that includes a lower bootlid spoiler, RS front grille and mesh, fixed side steps, and Kahn privacy tinted glass. There are also a series of Cosworth specific elements like stainless steel entry sill plates, bonnet and tailgate branding, a numbered carbon engine cover, and an enamel tailgate logo. The last piece of the exterior kit is a new set of 22" Kahn Cosworth RS wheels.

The interior has also been updated with an RS center arm rest in black perforated leather with white stitching, a Cosworth time clock, Cosworth vented foot pedals in machined aluminum ,and a Cosworth speedo and rev counter. This minor interior upgrades are combined with the usual option for expressing the owner’s individuality within their vehicle’s cabin.

Under the hood, the LR-TDV8 4.4-liter engine has received an arrangement of alterations to the supercharger and ECU programming so it now delivers an impressive 350 HP, up from the standard 313 HP.

When Thibault Devauze was just an intern at Land Rover, he was handed a big job of designing a crossover SUV to rival the likes of the X6 and the Bentley Continental GTC — an eclectic set of rivals, huh? The project had only a few real rules: make it luxurious, make it a coupe, price it above €100K, and give it the biggest, baddest engine that Land Rover had to offer.

With these guidelines and the base chassis of the Range Rover Sport Supercharged, Devauze came up with the LRGT Concept. After six weeks of designing and sketching, Devauze and two modelers came up with the first ever CAD images of his brainchild. Since then, he has used that model to come up with final results of the concept that, according to his claims, are still on the table at Land Rover.

This model is pegged to sit at the top of Land Rover’s Range Rover lineup. It boasts Lad-Rover’s famed front end with a slight twist, as it rakes rearward more than most current Land Rover SUVs, sans the Evoque . As you stretch over its shallow-raked, hood you come to a roofline that dives into the back end of the crossover. Around the back end you get a pair of circular taillights that cap off a sleek rump and pair of oblong tail pipes are integrated in with the rear bumper.

From the side profile, you find an awesome reverse-wedge design that just seems to fit perfectly with the sharp upper beltline and the massive pair of doors designed to replace the typical 4-door SUV setup.

The driving force under the hood of this massive 4,850 mm (190 –inch) long x 1,995 mm (78-inch) wide x 1,510 mm (59-inch) wide 2,095 kg (4,618-pound) crossover is Land Rover’s supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 engine that pumps out 540 PS (532 horsepower) and 725 Nm (534 pound-feet) of torque.

From the looks of it, this appears to be the big brother of the Evoque, but we’ll find out in the coming years if this is a production concept or just another one that will be filed away for future model design.
