The Range Rover Sport is one of those SUV s that doesn’t really need to a whole lot to grab attention. But if an aftermarket company is willing to give it some added shine, we doubt the SUV will have any complaints about it.
One of the best tuners for Range Rovers happens to be really good at things like this and at the 2013 Essen Motor Show, Startech presented a program that took a pretty long time to build. Then again, with programs of this quality, you can’t short change the time it takes to get it up in full swing.
Designed to further enhance the Range Rover Sport’s already appealing visage, the Startech program comes with a load of new features, the most prominent of which are new body components, including a new front bumper with larger air intakes and hooked up with LED daytime running lights. At the rear, a new diffuser was also installed, as well as a stainless-steel sports exhaust system, adding that throatier response that will be of good use with the performance kit added under the SUV’s hood.
Rounding out the exterior mods is a set of 22-inch alloy wheels and a suspension lowering module that can drop the SUV’s ride height by about 25 mm (0.98 inches).
Meanwhile, the interior’s been spruced up with some fine upholstery material, something the Range Rover Sport deserves. Be it premium leather or Alcantara, the material is nothing but top-of-the-line and complemented nicely by carbon-fiber and exotic-wood trim.
Finally, this program wouldn’t be complete without any performance mods and that’s exactly what Startech did. The tuner equipped the SUV with an SD30 S tuning kit, driving up the output of the Range Rover Sport to 323 horsepower and 501 pound-feet of torque, which is a nice jump from the stock 258 horsepower and 600 Nm (443 pound-feet) of torque from the stock 3.0-liter turbo-diesel engine. This power allows the vehicle to hit 62 mph in 6.9 seconds to go with a top speed of 138 mph.

Not a lot of people can say they build better programs than what Startech did to this Range Rover.
The interior has been dressed to the hilt, so much so that the options Startech is offering really does give the Range Rover Sport that added shine and sparkle.

When Land Rover promised to bring a new generation Range Rover, the British automaker promised a whole lot of good things. Well, when the new SUV arrived, it was lighter, stronger, and more refined. Promise kept, Land Rover.
For the new model, the company mostly focused on reducing the SUV’s total weight, and thanks to a revolutionary all-aluminum monocoque body structure combined with weight savings throughout the chassis and driveline, the new Range Rover is now 350 kilos (771 lbs) lighter than the outgoing model.
The new Range Rover will be offered with a choice of two diesel engines, plus a V-8 supercharged with 510 horsepower. However, a diesel hybrid will join the lineup later in 2013.

The STARTECH designer outfit for the new Range Rover Sport was developed using state-of-the-art aerodynamics simulation technology, and thanks to being manufactured in OEM quality from PUR-R-Rim it offers a precise fit and is easy to paint.
The STARTECH front element, which replaces the production bumper, lends the all-wheel-drive car a more distinctive front. But that’s not all: The sophisticated design with integrated wing profile also contributes towards further lowering negative lift on the front axle. The large air openings optimize the supply of fresh air to radiator and front brakes. A special feature are the LEDs integrated into the fascia, which seem to be floating freely and serve as daytime running lights and side markers. The advanced STARTECH lighting concept is rounded out by innovative LED fog lights which are set further back than on the production version.
The STARTECH rear fascia follows the same design idiom. It is also designed to replace the production bumper. Air ducts were integrated on either side to vent the wheel houses. In addition to the central diffuser, which will shortly also be available made from clear-coated carbon fiber, the tailpipe trim integrated into the right- and left-hand side of the fascia immediately catches the eye. The two openings on each side in the distinctive STARTECH design are arranged on top of one another and not side by side as is usually the case. As a result they perfectly frame the diffuser. This option can be combined with the production exhaust or with the STARTECH stainless-steel sport exhaust with controlled butterfly valve.
As the perfect complement to the designer outfit, STARTECH offers various tire/wheel combinations in size 10Jx22 front and back for the Range Rover Sport. The one-piece STARTECH Monostar R five-spoke wheel impresses with its elaborate design with black wheel spider and polished contours. It also comes in a version with a red pinstripe on the rim flange. Tires in size 285/35 R 22 front and back were selected as the perfect option.
Alternatively customers can opt for the one-piece Monostar IV 10Jx22 wheel, whose design features an attractive combination of anthracite-colored and polished surfaces.
To lower the ride height of the SUV for on-road operations by about 25 millimeters compared with the production car and make the handling even more agile thanks to a lowered center of gravity, STARTECH offers the electronically controlled STARTECH suspension module for the ex-factory air suspension. For off-road excursions and for getting in and out of the vehicle the standard ride height is maintained.
For the particularly popular Range Rover Sport with SDV6 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine STARTECH offers performance tuning that was perfected in extensive and elaborate test programs. The STARTECH SD30 S tuning kit consists of a processor-controlled plug-and-play auxiliary control unit, which thanks to a model-specific wire harness and detailed installation instructions can be fitted in less than 90 minutes by any specialist workshop.
The newly calibrated mapping bumps power output of the diesel engine from standard 215 kW / 292 hp to 237 kW / 323 hp at 4,000 rpm. Even more important for everyday driving is the increase in peak torque from standard 600 Nm to 680 Nm, available at a low 2,000 rpm.
These impressive engine output figures naturally also benefit vehicle performance: The sprint time from 0 – 100 km/h of the tuned Range Rover Sport SDV6 3.0 is shortened to 6.9 seconds while top speed increases to 222 km/h.
The STARTECH stainless-steel sport exhaust system with controlled butterfly valve delivers a sporty but never obtrusive exhaust note. It is available for all gasoline-powered models of the Range Rover Sport. The active sound management allows choosing between a distinctly subtle exhaust note in standard mode and a markedly sporty sound when the S mode of the automatic transmission is selected.
The interior of a Range Rover Sport refined by STARTECH exudes individuality in its purest form. The STARTECH REFINEMENT manufactory can craft all-leather interiors in any desired color and can even combine leather and Alcantara to suit the customer’s preferences.

The rich red color is also found on the leather edging of the high-quality STARTECH floor mats as well as on the outside in the pinstripe of the wheels and the red-painted gills of the air vents in the front fenders.
In addition, STARTECH offers exclusive trim sets made from carbon fiber or precious wood in various colors and with different surface finishes that replace the production aluminum trim in the cockpit.
