It looks like Kahn Design is into a real competition with itself as every week comes with a new tuning package. This week, the tuner updated the Land Rover Discovery 3.0 TDV6 XS with a very cool RS300 package.

For the exterior, the package adds a pair of RS vented front air dams, an RS front grille with 3D mesh, door entry sill plates in stainless steel and RS vented rear air dams. LED lights are used for the front wheel arch stripes and, in order to offer you the best protection, the model comes equipped with privacy tinted glass.

For the interior, Kahn is offers up a diamond-quilted center glove box, vented foot pedals in machined aluminum, front, middle and rear seats in quilted and perforated black leather, and ca lock bezel surround finished with Swarovski diamonds.

The last piece of the new RS300 package is a new set of RS600 wheels.

UK-based tuning firm, Merdad, has been featured prominently on these pages for its work on the Porsche Cayenne 902 Coupe .

Now it’s turning its attention on something a little closer to its roots, the Land Rover Range Rover . Though the photos of the program are still in their preview guise, Merdad did divulge details behind the Range Rover Highland GTC.

Notice that the luxury SUV looks a little bit bigger? The tuning firm did the work on that, courtesy of a new wide-body aero package that added 92 mm (3.62 inches) to the SUV’s width. The list of components includes a new hood, wheel arch extensions, new side skirts, a roof spoiler, a full-carbon rear bumper, a new diffuser and tailpipe deflectors. In addition, the interior was also treated to a complete overhaul, although Merdad has yet to release any information on how it did just that.

Another important part of the program is Merdad’s promise of a performance upgrade, which will be offered in a choice of outputs ranging from 510 horsepower all the way up to a staggering 700 horsepower with prices being broken down to $209,000 for the Range Rover 3.0-liter, $228,000 for the HSE 4.4-liter, $239,000 for the Supercharged 5.0-liter, and $485,000 for the 700 GTC Range Rover Coupe Racing 4 Seater.

The end of the week is coming with another tuning kit from the British tuner, Kahn Design. This time, the tuner focused its attention on the Land Rover Defender and created a very cool Chelsea Wide Track kit. As usual, the tuner offers updates to the exterior and interior, while the engine is left untouched.

The exterior upgrades include new front and rear wide wings with integrated vents and bolt apertures, extended wheel arches in satin black, front and rear wing-vent mesh inserts, roof in satin black, bonnet vents with mesh, and a new front grille with embossed Kahn mesh. The tuner also installed new headlamps with diamond LED lights. The car will sit on 18-inch RS Defender wheels in satin black combined with brake calipers finished in liquid red.

For the interior, the upgrades include: front and rear racing seats in black leather with silver stitching, a new leather steering wheel, front and rear floor mats, and vented foot pedals in machined aluminum.

Just the other day, Land Rover tossed us a bone by revealing a teaser image and video of its revised Range Rover Sport. Well, now someone at Land Rover has apparently decided to toss us the entire chicken by posting images of the 2014 Land Rover Range Rover Sport completely camouflage free.

When we saw the teaser image, we noted that the new headlights looked very similar to the Evoque and the larger Range Rover. If these leaked images are, in fact, of the 2014 Land Rover Sport, then our suspicion on the redesigned headlights is correct. What we couldn’t see in those teaser images was just how significant the redesign would be, but these leaked images show us that the redesign is extreme.

Front to rear, the Range Rover Sport is completely different. Gone is the flat front and rear ends, leaving a much sportier-looking SUV. In fact, these images look almost like the LR2, Range Rover and Evoque all had their DNA mixed up to make the ultimate hybrid.

Fortunately, we won’t have to wait too long to find out if these images are real or not, as the new Range Rover Sport will be unveiled on March 26th.

Since its official debut earlier this year, the new-generation Range Rover has already received numerous tuning kits, but we have to admit that the "Mystere" kit unveiled by Hamann at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show is the most colorful we have seen. No updates have been made under the hood, but the aerodynamic kit and that crazy exterior color are more than enough.

The exterior upgrades include a new front spoiler with integrated LED daytime running lights, a new bonnet made completely in carbon fiber and new side skirts that add a total of 80 mm (3.14 inches) to the SUV’s width.

The upgrades continue with the addition of new front wings made in special carbon GFK composite and new door fixtures. For the rear, the kit adds a new spoiler with integrated tailpipes. The new Mystere rides on 23-inch forged wheels offered in either "Edition Race" or "Unique Forged" versions.

If its body additions are not enough to catch your attention, let us present you the exterior color: a mirror-like pink paint combined with pink large-sized roof beams in a brushed matte finish.

We already brought you the first teaser image of the upcoming Land Rover Range Rover Sport , which LR is calling "the fastest, most responsive and agile vehicle to date." Though that teaser image showed us very little, it certainly piqued our interest. Well, it didn’t take Land Rover long to follow that up with a teaser video, which it just released today.

This early glimpse of the new Range Rover Sport shows us only limited bits of the new SUV, but you can clearly tell that there are some significant updates. The only real clear image we see is of the headlights, which will feature a wraparound effect, much like the 2013 Range Rover and Evoque.

Other than the headlights, the video offered little more clarity besides a sharp shoulder line that flows from front to rear. We’re holding onto hopes that the new Range Rover Sport will carry with it some updates to its 5-liter V-8 engine, but we haven’t heard anything about that yet.

We’ll keep an eye out for additional teaser videos and we’ll bring them to you as soon as Land Rover releases them.

Land Rover has not prepared any big surprises for the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, but the company decided to still come at the show with some updates for the stunning Evoque . The luxury SUV is going to receive a new Black Design Pack offered on the sporty Dynamic version and set to be put on sale in April.

As its name suggests, the new Black Design Pack will add a host of striking black exterior details, starting with darkened front headlights and fog lamps, Santorini Black exhaust pipes, a gloss black rear bumper, a black rear sport spoiler and "Range Rover" lettering across the hood and tailgate also painted in Santorini Black. Specially designed for this package are also the 20-inch wheels offered in a nine-spoke design and painted in gloss black.

On the interior, this special edition will add yellow contrast stitching on seats, central storage area, door trims and fascia mid-section, plus an anodized yellow horizontal finisher.

Customers will have the possibility to choose between two exterior color schemes: Sicilian Yellow with a Santorini Black contrast roof, or Santorini Black with a Sicilian Yellow contrast roof and door mirrors.

At the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, Land Rover will unveil an all-new nine-speed transmission. The new transmission — named the ZF 9HP — is designed to fit on transverse-mounted-engine setups, like the Range Rover Evoque. This is the first ever nine-speed automatic transmission offered for a passenger vehicle and it is one of the most efficient and technically advanced transmissions ever used in a production vehicle.

The new transmission was developed in cooperation with ZF and, thanks to the added gear ratios, it helps significantly improve fuel economy and CO2 emissions, while also reducing the engine’s noise when cruising at high speed. The new transmission also delivers improved response during acceleration, improved shift quality, drive and refinement.

Despite being more efficient than the outgoing six-speed transmission, the new 9HP transmission is just 6 mm (0.2 inches) longer and weighs 7.5 kilos (16.5 lbs) less. The new transmission also features lots of innovative features that help improving its efficiency, including: a new hydraulic vane-type pump, two patented dog clutches replacing bulkier conventional clutch packs, and an intelligently nested gear set.

It’s safe to say that aftermarket companies are coming in droves to the 2013 Geneva Motor Show . We’ve already seen some from German tuner Brabus, but now it’s time to turn our attention toward its sister company, Startech.

The German tuner has a number of tuned Land Rover , Jaguar , and Range Rover models to Geneva, one of which is this recently unveiled Range Rover.

While Startech normally leaves the flair to its sister company, Brabus, it certainly put some splashes of it on the Range Rover, particularly on the redesigned front fascia that now includes an integrated spoiler with modified intakes, LED daytime running lights and LED fog lights. The grilles have also been changed to be a little less distinguishable than the cheese grater from the production Range Rover. On top of that, the rear bumper was also modified with a sporty diffuser. Added exterior options include a stainless-steel sport exhaust system, a suspension lowering module, and a new set of 22" alloy wheels.

Inside, Startech went for a more bespoke look with leather and Alcantara treatment on the seats. A choice of exotic wood or carbon fiber trim can are also available while the yachting-inspired load floor adds a sprinkle of class to the cabin’s look. From there, Startech also added illuminated scuff plates and electrically folding rear tables with wood, carbon fiber or leather surfacing.

Moving to the engine, Startech gave the Range Rover its SD 30S package, which pretty much means that the SUV’s 3.0-liter LR-TDV6 diesel engine will see an improved output of 342 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque. Those numbers then translate to a 0-62 mph time of 7.3 seconds with a top speed of 137 mph.

Trying to stop a Range Rover driving at a speed of 150 km/h (93 mph) is not always a good move. Three French police officers have learned it in the most tragic way, as two of them - age 32 and 40 - were killed and the third one, aged 54, was seriously injured.

First details suggest that the police officers were chasing the Range Rover for multiple infractions of the road. The police car - a Ford Mondeo - tried to block the SUV, which apparently had no intention to stop and the impact was of a "rare violence."

The Range Rover driver - age 22 - has a pretty hefty criminal record, as he was involved multiple small thefts and drug trafficking, and was arrested five times for driving offenses. Initial reports suggest that during this incident he was under influence and medical reports revealed 1.4 grams of alcohol per liter of blood, while the limit is 0.5 grams / liter of blood. He was also without driving license.
