Land Rover is celebrating Range Rover’s 10th anniversary with the unveiling of three special editions: the TDV8 Westminster, TDV8 Autobiography and Supercharged Autobiography. The first one TDV8 Westminster will replace the current TDV8 Vogue and Vogue SE models and will go on sale in March at a price of £69,995 or about $110,000 at the current exchange rates.
The new Range Rover Westminster Edition will be distinguished by a special ’Noble’ finish to the front grille and side vents, ’Titan’ silver lower splitter bar and fog lamp bezels, 20" 10-spoke alloy wheels and ’Westminster’ badging. The interior will add a cabin finished with luxury carpets and Grand Black lacquer trim elements, plus bright-finished pedal finishers. As standard equipment Land Rover offers an in car entertainment system that includes a 19-speaker, 1,200W harman/kardon LOGIC7 surround sound system as well as Range Rover’s innovative Dual View infotainment screen.
Under the hood there is a 4.4 liter TDV8 engine with eight-speed automatic transmission. Customers will have to choose between seven exterior colors and a choice of five interior color combinations.
Now that the new Land Rover Evoque has situated itself on the market, Land Rover is moving forward by updating the other models in its line-up. The next vehicle to see some action if the Range Rover, for both standard and Sport variants. The last time we caught the Range Rover, it was busy with some hot weather testing, but the calendar has turned and Landrover is now allowing the SUV to play in the snow. The best part is that our spy photographers were able to get close enough to snag a couple pics of the Range Rover’s new interior.
The new Landrover Range Rover will be built on a modified version of the Jaguar XJ aluminum platform and is rumored to lose about 990 lbs from its total weight. This will be possible thanks to the intense use of composite materials for the body. The engine line-up will be inherited from the current generation, but Land Rover will focus on improving the engines’ fuel economy.
As for the interior of the new Range Rover, it will take on characteristics from the luxurious Evoque, as seen in these images. The exterior will also take on some Evoque features, but unfortunately the heavy camouflage still prevents us from going into details on those changes.
Expect to see the new Range Rover launched by the end of 2012.
Shortly after revealing their brand new package for the Porsche Panamera, Hamann turned its attention to a larger model in the luxury segment: the Land Rover Range Rover. Believed to have just enough power for the general public, the Range Rover has been given a once-over by the German tuner to increase that power for those who a deeper need for customization. The package includes exclusive bodywork, performance updates, and a new interior program.
The exterior of the Range Rover has been slightly altered with a new front spoiler with larger cooling air inlets and harmoniously integrated LED daytime lights. The SUV has also received wider wings, forming a single unit with the newly designed side skirts, a carbon roof spoiler, and stainless steel exhaust pipes. The final element for the exterior is a new set of 22" three-part forged wheels. The interior can likewise be made over with an infinite number of combinations formed from leather, Alcantara, wood, carbon, or aluminum trims.
For the engine updates, Hamann is offering an entirely new exhaust system, complete with X-manifold, center pipe, and perfected engine electronics for the Range Rover. As a result, the 5.0 liter V8 engine’s output has been increased to 530 HP and 487 lb-ft of torque at 2,600 RPM, from the standard 510 HP and 461 lb-ft of torque. The sprint from 0 to 60 mph is now made in just 6 seconds and top speed has been raised to 141 mph.
Afzal Kahn and his fellows at Kahn Design probably know more about tuning Range Rovers than most people know how to brush their teeth. Over the years that they’ve been in business, that much has been clear.
The British tuning company’s latest Range Rover project is yet another example of the company’s innovativeness in coming out with programs for the luxury SUV.
This one is called the Military Edition, and true to it’s name, it’s been designed with plenty of high-end security design cues that makes it a virtual fortress on wheels.
The exterior of the Range Rover received a Metallic Military Grey paint finish while also getting fitted with a wide arch pace kit that comes with LED daylight lighting in the front arch extensions. Meanwhile, the program also includes an RS grille in carbon fiber finish with a Metallic Military Grey inner grille insert and black mesh. There’s also a front lip extension spoiler, also dressed in Metallic Military Grey and treated to a carbon fiber finish. Rounding out the exterior modifications are orange calipers, black rubber steps, Kahn badging, illuminated Kahn side sill plates, and a new set of 22" Kahn RS/R wheels.
Inside, the Range Rover Military Edition put in bullet-proof glass to ensure that the owners receive maximum protection from any and all threats that might come their way. Adding to the bullet proof glass is a bespoke interior that comes with an RS leather interior in black with grey insert panels, a quilted glove box, door tops and instrumental binnacle, a blue time clock with black Swarovski bezel, a Kahn billet steering wheel finished with grey top and bottom sections.
Needless to say, it’s another immaculate work coming from Kahn Design, which you can scoop up for £73,875, which is around $98,000 based on current exchange rates.
British tuning firm, Project Kahn, is going through a bit of a change. From now on, the company will be called A. Kahn Design, after the owner Azful Kahn, but that kind of news is nowhere near exciting enough to announce by itself, so the company has unveiled the first tuning project under the name: the Range Rover Sport RS300 Cosworth. This vehicle is now on sale for £65,875, or about $103,000 at the current exchange rates.
Thankfully, the only thing that changed about the company is the name; they are still delivering some amazing work. The RS300 Cosworth is painted in an amazing "Fugi White" and includes an eight-piece aerodynamic package consisting of Cosworth vented front and rear wheel arch spats with integrated air dams, LED daytime running lights in the front air dams, a Cosworth front grille with 3D mesh, and new exhaust side vents. The Range Rover Sport sits on a new set of 22" Kahn RS/R wheels and will be further equipped with a diamond gear selector, RS300 rev counter, Cosworth speedo, Cosworth time clock fascia insert, Cosworth stainless steel door entry sill plates, Cosworth machined aluminum vented foot pedals, Cosworth quad diagonal exhaust system, new calipers, and Kahn branding. For the interior, A. Kahn Design is offering their usual deal; customers can customize it in any possible combination of color and materials.
Back in August 2011, the first spy images of the new Land Rover Range Rover were revealed, so it would only make sense that Land Rover would also be preparing a renewed Range Rover Sport. These first mules caught testing by our spy photographers don’t reveal too much since they consist mostly of the features used in the current body, but they do show that the new Sport is in the works.
Just like the standard Range Rover, the Sport model will be all about the reduction of weight. For that, Land Rover is paying extra attention to the materials used to construct the vehicle. There are rumors stating that Landrover will be adopting a new platform from the RangeRover, quite possibly using a modified Jaguar XJ platform tweaked to maintain the Range Rover’s off-road performance.
Nothing has been said about the type of engine that will be used for the new Range Rover Sport, but Land Rover will probably just trick out the current 5.0 V8 to increase its output and reduce fuel consumption.
Expect to see the new Range Rover Sport at the end of 2012.
Project Kahn is continuing its work on Land Rover models with the new Bali Blue RS450 Kahn Range Rover Vogue. Priced at £88,875 - or about $136,000 at the current exchange rates - the new Bali Blue RS450 includes an impressive list of exterior and interior modifications and, of course, special blue exterior paint.
Aside from the electric blue finish, the Bali Blue RS450 benefits from a long list of additions including new side skirts, LED daylight running lights, yellow calipers, Kahn illuminated kick plates, and Kahn undercar lighting. The final element of the exterior is a new set of 22-inch RS wheels in matte Pearl Grey combined with Land Rover center caps and a Kahn quad exhaust system. The interior gets Kahn machined aluminum pedals, bespoke door handles, Project Kahn mats, a new rev counter, and a time clock with a Swarovski diamond bezel. Kahn also provides customers with the opportunity to express their individuality with any color or material they desire for their Range Rover.
Kahn Design has been pretty busy lately releasing at least one tuning package every week, even though most people’s eyes are caught up with the new toys at the Frankfurt Motor Show. This week is no different as Kahn has released a new tuning kit based on the Land Rover Range Rover. It’s called the Swiss edition and, as its name suggests, has been destined for Switzerland for use by patrol police.
This special police car will be painted mostly in black with a white
standard hood and Kahn RS 22-inch wheels. A special custom interior will combine style and personality with a stylish police theme. It also seems as though this car will be offered in a different number of colors and designs to suit individual specifications.
We love the fact that Kahn Design has created a killer customized design for the boys in blue, and bad guys certainly won’t stand a chance with the Range Rover’s 5.0 liter supercharged engine and specially crafted stainless steel exhaust.
The Range Rover Evoque has been stealing the show for the past year or so, but come 2013, the new Landrover Range Rover will be back in the saddle showing off its svelte aluminum body while still maintaining its offroad capabilities.
Our spy photographers caught the new Range Rover during hot weather testing in Southern Europe. These images show small changes to the exterior of the SUV, such as the slightly modified front end and the smaller rear window. It’s clear that, so far, LandRover has chosen to sharpen the design of the Range Rover as opposed to completely redefining it. The most attention has been paid to the materials used to construct the vehicle. There are rumors stating that Landrover will be adopting a new platform from the RangeRover, quite possibly using a modified Jaguar XJ platform that has been tweaked to maintain the Range Rover’s off-road performance. The perfecting of this platform is vital to Landrover’s lineup since the upcoming Land Rover Discovery and Range Rover Sport will also be utilizing it. The new Range Rover will also be a lot lighter than its predecessor thanks to the use of more aluminum on the vehicle’s chassis and body. The lighter makeup of the 2013 Landrover Range Rover will also benefit the vehicle with an improvement of fuel consumption.

Full story
Vesuvius may remind some people of the Italian volcano that destroyed the Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum in AD 79, but in the automotive world, it reminds us of Project Kahn. A few years ago, the British tuner created a tuning kit for the Range Rover Sport called the Vesuvius which provided a duo-tone exterior paint job, as well as other tweaks to the exterior and interior. This package has led to a special edition 2012 Vesuvius Edition Sport 300 that, according to the tuner, "erupts with elegance." The price for this special edition is £69,875 - or about $115,000 at the current exchange rates.
The special edition Vesuvius is painted in the same metallic black with "Vesuvius" matte orange roof stripe and bonnet stripe as found on the original package. The color combination extends to the black rubber sidesteps with an orange edge, the quad exhaust system finished in black, the front extended lip spoiler in orange/black, a grille insert in orange, and Kahn RS22" black alloys with orange stripe.
The lava and dirt color combination doesn’t end there as the tuner has showered the interior of the Range Rover with a new bespoke black/orange RS leather sports interior with front and rear seats, a steering wheel with Vesuvius orange stitching, and quilted door panels. Project Kahn also refined the vehicle with machined vented foot pedals and Kahn exterior and interior branding.
