Black and white are colors that will always be in fashion so it’s really no surprise that automakers choose these two colors when devising some of their special editions. Land Rover is just another example of that as they have unveiled a special edition Discovery 4 that pays tribute to those exact monochromatic colors. Called the Discovery 4 ’Landmark’, this special edition will be offered in Santorini Black or Fuji White color schemes and will go on sale in January 2011. The exterior of the Landmark edition will be distinguished by Santorini Black finish grille vanes, gloss black 20" 5-spoke diamond-turned alloy wheels, privacy glass, and Satin Black extended roof rails. The interior gets Taurus interior leather which comes in either Ebony or - for the first time in a Discovery - Ivory. Under the hood there is a highly efficient 3.0 liter SDV6 twin turbo diesel engine. The new Discovery 4 Landmark will also be offered with the Terrain ResponseTM system, which optimizes the vehicle set-up for virtually all on-road or off-road driving situations, with five different settings to suit different terrains. Press release after the jump. Press release Land Rover will introduce the new Discovery 4 ’Landmark’ Limited Editions in January 2011 featuring unique Black and White colour themes. "The new Landmark Limited Edition Discovery 4 has been created to offer our customers more choice," said Land Rover design director Gerry McGovern. "The Discovery 4 is already the ultimate all-purpose vehicle, but we’ve brought a new, bolder, more contemporary edge to the design, offering a higher level of luxury in the cabin." The Landmark is powered by Land Rover’s highly efficient 3.0 litre SDV6 twin turbo diesel engine that offers a nine percent fuel economy improvement (EU combined cycle), compared to 2.7 litre engine it replaced and ten percent less CO2, re-affirming the brand’s ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability. 4 comments: Land Rover Discovery 4 Landmark Limited Editions i like it. its edgy and dark. i just don’t like the tail light. but like PONTIAC said, its too glamorous for discovery. the car by itself is beautiful but i don’t know this as discovery. they should come up with something to replace the original discovery that you can take anywhere
I ’m not a fan of the mileage and would love the option of the diesel version if they can get it clean enough to pass Cali emissions (like Audi, VW and Benz has done).
This looks good for the next Land Rover entry. Hope that it will still retain much of the great features of the previous year’s model.
