It’s hard to confuse the Land Rover defender for a modern-day all-road utility vehicle.
The aesthetics pretty much give it away off the bat. But even with the utilitarian façade, the Defender is still capable of getting a luxury treatment. German tuner, Startech, proved that with its latest program for the Defender , which is headed to the 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show .
The official details have yet to be revealed, but judging by the photos we’re seeing, the Defender definitely looks like its ready to dance at Frankfurt, packed with aesthetic and aero modifications, including a redesigned grille, a new set of LED headlamps and plenty of aluminum accents.
The interior is where the Defender looks to have leveled-up to become a true wonder of luxury. The wooden floors on the rear are a nice touch, as are the premium trims that seem to have been appropriately placed inside the Defender’s cabin.
Plenty of leather and Alcantara were also used inside the Defender, highlighting the contrast in personality the exterior and the interior of this utility vehicle.
More details are set to arrive once the Frankfurt Auto Show opens its doors. But we gotta say, this Startech program really captures our imaginations.

Rugged and ready to rumble at moment’s notice, the Land Rover Defender is an awesome utility vehicle that gives off an all-conquering aura few of its competitors can match.
On top of that, the Land Rover Defender will also come with a 2.2-liter diesel engine that delivers a total of 122 horsepower at 500rpm and a peak torque of 265 lbs-ft at 2,000rpm. The engine is mated to a GFT MT 82 six-speed gearbox and will sprint the car to a top speed of 90 mph.
