Lexus unveiled the all-new 2008 LS 600h L hybrid luxury sedan at a press conference at the 2006 New York International Automobile Show. Scheduled to arrive in Spring 2007, the all-wheel-drive LS 600h L will be the world’s first vehicle to feature a full hybrid V8 powertrain.

Toyota Motor Corp. is recalling 11,000 Lexus cars in Japan and 46,000 overseas to fix a faulty seat belt part. Lexus dealers will replace the buckles in both front seats, which can presently jam due to a faulty part. No accidents attributable to the defect have been reported, and the automaker advises that drivers can avoid the issue by ’releasing the seatbelt slowly.’ The affected cars are Lexus GS Lexus GS and LS sedans. XM Satellite Radio today announced that Lexus, the luxury division of Toyota Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., will offer XM as standard, factory-installed equipment on the 2007 LS 460 L and its new luxury hybrid sedan, the 2008 LS 600h L. XM will also be available as a factory-installed feature on the 2007 LS 460 model as part of the navigation option.
