Wearing almost the exact shame shade of maroon paint as the 2012 LF-CC concept, and headlights to match as well, the 2014 IS is quickly becoming one of the best-looking compact luxury models available.
The IS 350 AWD is priced from $41,700 and is the top version of the IS lineup, except of course the F Sport variants.
The second generation arrived in 2005 and the third one was unveiled at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show and went on sale in mid-2013 in both rear- and all-wheel-drive versions.
The IS 350 AWD comes loaded with tons of standard features, but customers interested in updating it even further have a lot of packages and options to choose from. The only problem is that these options are quite expensive and you can end up paying up to $60k for a highly equipped version.
The entire IS lineup was heavily updated for the new generation, and, just like with the GS and LS models it will feature an inverted trapezoidal upper grille, slanted lower grille and new headlights with LED technology.

Just like with all the other models recently launched by Lexus, the 2014 IS 350 AWD will be distinguished by a large, trapezoidal upper grille featuring a more three-dimensional design with a chrome-plated frame and darker gray insert from top to bottom.
The model will also be equipped with powerfully articulated headlamp cluster design with L-shaped Daytime Running Lights (DRL) located independently below and wide flare of the wheel arches.
Customers will have the possibility to choose between seven exterior colors: Starfire Pearl, Nebula Gray Pearl, Silver Lining Metallic (new), Atomic Silver (new), Obsidian, Matador Red Mica, and Deep Sea Mica.

As no surprise the interior is all about combining a high level of luxury with the sportiness required by a model in this class. There is a driver-oriented cockpit design inspired by Lexus LFA supercar and a dashboard divided into two distinct zones: a display zone and an operation zone. This way the driver will enjoy a more comfortable, ergonomically ideal interaction with the vehicle’s control systems.
The 2014 IS was built on a longer wheelbase and when combined with a special front seat design, the rear seat legroom was increased by 1.6 inches.

The IS 350 is powered by a 3.5 liter V-6 engine that delivers a total of 306 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and a peak torque of 277 pound-feet at 4,800 rpm. The model equipped with the electronically controlled all-weather drive system will be equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.
When equipped with the AWD system, the IS 350 will deliver improved traction and grip under all driving conditions by automatically varying front-to-rear torque balance from 50:50 to as much as 30:70.
The IS 350 AWD will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds and up to an electronically top speed of 131 mph, while delivering a fuel economy of 19 mpg on city driving and 26 mpg on the highway.

Suspension and Brakes
The IS 350 AWD will be offered with standard 17-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels with 225/45R17 V-rated all-season performance tires combined with a high-performance braking system featuring 13.1-in ventilated discs up front and 12.2-in ventilated discs at the rear.
Lexus is also offering as standard feature an independent, double-wishbone suspension up front and an independent, multilink with coil springs suspension at the rear. Also offered as standard is an Electronic Power Steering (EPS) system.

The 2014 Q50 is powered by a 3.7-liter aluminum-alloy DOHC 24-valve V-6 engine that delivers a total of 328 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. This engine will be combined with an advanced seven-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission with manual-shift mode and available steering column-mounted magnesium paddle shifters.
For the Q50 equipped with the AWD system prices will start from $38,500.

The 335i is powered by a 3.0-liter, inline 6-cylinder engine with TwinPower Turbo technology that delivers a total of 300 horsepower. More importantly the 335i xDrive is a little bit more fuel efficient as the IS 350 AWD, as fuel economy on the highway driving goes up to 30 mpg.
