Lexus->ke47 is famous for offering various special editions for its models. We've seen the LS400 Platinum Edition, the ES300 Coach Edition, and the SC430 Pebble Beach Edition in the past. It's been a hot minute since the brand has had special packages such as these, and Lexus has announced that it will be offering a new, similar special edition for several of its models. The IS Crafted Line Edition, which will be offered on the 2015 IS 250 F Sport, is perhaps the most striking package yet, with gorgeous paint, contrasting trim, and a customized interior.

In usual fashion with these Special Edition Lexus models, all mechanics remain the same, but it's the little bits and pieces that all come together to make these cars truly one-of-a-kind.

To ensure the highest level of exclusivity, Lexus is officially unveiling its Crafted Line Edition models at the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance Auto Show->ke2839.

Lexus IS Crafted Line Edition in detail

The recently redesigned Lexus IS is quite the looker as it is. This is perhaps the most radical-looking Lexus yet -- save the LF-A -- with its huge spindle grille, two piece headlights, and a sharp accent line that begins near the rear doors and swoops up to meet the rear rocker panels. The taillights are also quite dramatic, mirroring the headlights with a futuristic, attractive shape.

But enough about the regular version. The new, Crafted Line Edition adds a beautiful, aptly named Ultra White paint job and combines it with Obsidian Black contrasting door handles, side-mirrors, and a mesh grille. This striking color combination looks both luxurious and sporty, which should easily be identifiable to Lexus enthusiasts.

Inside, things are spruced up as well, with special two-tone black and red leather along with contrast stitching. The regular, cushion part of the seats are black, while the outsides are shaded in a seductive red. The interior door panels are also a mixture of black and red, and quite attractive. The matching red contrast stitching will cover the seats, dashboard, and interior door panels. Lexus already is at the front of the line for blending impeccably crafted luxurious and ergonomic interiors seamlessly, and these special additions are the icing on the cake.

Also notable in the Crafted Line IS250 is the fact that Navigation, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Blind Spot Monitoring will be standard.

Lexus isn't leaving it alone with that, however. Like the previous Coach Editions it offered back in the 90s with the ES model line, Lexus is including a special set of luggage to complement the Crafted Line Edition. TUMI, a very luxurious and popular designer luggage brand, is including a two-piece duffel bag set as part of the package. These luggage pieces mimic typical Lexus attributes such as astounding fit and finish, as well as including a unique leather-trimmed luggage tag imprinted with the Lexus logo. The outsides of these bags are nylon black with contrasting white zippers and trim, while the insides have red contrast stitching to match the interior theme.

The only thing we don't understand is why Lexus is only offering this seductive and exclusive package in IS 250 guise. Anyone who knows anything about cars should be well aware that the IS 250 just doesn't cut it in the engine department. We speculate that Lexus will ditch the anemic 2.5-liter V-6 and implant its exciting new turbocharged 2.0-liter, good for 235 horsepower in the new NX Crossover. In the meantime, perhaps offering the Crafted Line Edition in the class-competitive -- if not class-leading -- IS 350 would be the better choice.

Pricing hasn't been officially released, but we do know that the ES 350 Crafted Line Edition will sell for roughly $5,000 more than its current $36,620 base price. It is worth mentioning that the Crafted Line upgrade will be available for the LS 460 F Sport, GS 350 F Sport, RX 350 F Sport, and regular ES 350. Expect the IS 250 edition to see a similar, roughly $5,000 price increase for the upgrade. This will be money well spent, as there will only be 1,374 IS 250 Crafted Line Editions produced.

We foresee the majority of these cars sold will live their lives happily as low-mileage garage queens.
