In February 2006 at the Chicago Auto Show ,the 2007 MKZ was first shown.
Lincoln is changing the name of its new Zephyr sedan to MKZ (pronounced Mark Zee).
Since its debut last year, Zephyr has paved the way for the Lincoln MKZ with a solid foundation in customer satisfaction and quality.
It brings this entry-level sedan under Lincoln’s new alphanumeric naming system,but has the potential to confuse consumers.

Lincoln is determined to become America’s luxury vehicle by launching the largest number of new products in the brand’s history. Following the strong sales launch of the Lincoln Zephyr in the autumn of 2005, the entry-level luxury sedan is reborn for the 2007 model year with a new, more powerful 3.5-liter V-6 engine, a newly designed front end, more traction with available all-wheel drive (AWD) and a new name - Lincoln MKZ.
