After Lincoln->ke48 posted just yesterday the first teaser images of the 2015 Navigator ->ke465 on its Instagram account, the first official details on the new SUV->ke145 were dropped today online. Lincoln will offer the new Navigator offered with a new look, a new interior and a new, more powerful and more gas-friendly engine.

Some of the more notable features offered by the 2015 Navigator will include Lincoln’s signature split-wing grille, a newly designed hood, luxurious leather seating and additional customer-focused gadgets.

Just like with the previous generation, Lincoln will offer the 2015 Navigator in standard and extended-length versions and will arrive at Lincoln showrooms in early fall.

Updated 05/21/2014: Lincoln announced today prices for the 2015 Navigator set to be put on sale later this year. Prices will start from $62,475 for the base version, but can go up to $72,900 for the 4x4 version equipped with the Reserve Package.

Exterior

The 2015 Navigator benefits from a highly revised look that makes it a quite the challenger for upscale models, like Cadillac Escalade. Exterior updates for the 2015 Navigator include the introduction of Lincoln’s iconic split-wing grille nd a sleeker front end that includes a newly designed hood.

For the rear, the new SUV will get a power up/down tailgate, standard jewel-like LED lights and high-intensity discharge (HID) adaptive headlamps with LED accents.

Interior

Updates on the interior were made in order to improve the amount of luxury offered by the SUV, so Lincoln updated the 2015 Navigator with higher-quality materials, a revised switchgear and PowerFold third-row seats.

Updates on the 2015 Navigator also include a new Lincoln steering wheel wrapped in Wollsdorf leather -- similar to what we saw in the MKC premium SUV.

The 2015 Navigator can accommodate up to eight people and offers lots of cargo space -- 128.2 cubic feet behind the first row, 86.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row, and 42.6 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row.

For the 2015 model year, the Navigator offers a new Reserve Package that includes:

- Ultra-luxurious leather on all three rows of seats, armrests, center console and transmission shifter

- Hand-wrapped, leather instrument panel with contrast stitching and leather glove box door

- Premium Ziricote wood trim

Drivetrain

For the 2015 model year, Lincoln decided to replace the old 5.4 liter V-8 with a more powerful and fuel-efficient, twin-turbocharged, 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine. This engine delivers a total of 370 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. The engine is combined with a six-speed automatic transmission that sends the power to either the rear or to all four wheels, depending on the configurations chosen by the client.

Suspension and Brakes

The 2015 Navigator will be offered with standard 20-inch aluminum wheels, but the Reserve Package bumps those to 22-inch, polished-aluminum wheels.

The model comes equipped with standard electric power steering and has optional Continuously Controlled Damping (CCD) system that monitors multiple vehicle sensors and road conditions every two milliseconds, and adjusts the suspension needs accordingly.

Cadillac unveiled the new-generation Escalade at the 2013 Miami International Auto Show, and it will hit dealers later this spring. The model offers an updated exterior look, new interior features and a more powerful engine.

The 2015 Escalade will be powered by a 6.2-liter, V-8 engine that delivers a total of 420 horsepower and 455 pound-feet of torque. This will sprints the SUV to 60 mph in an estimated 6.8 seconds.

Rumors suggest the 2015 Escalade will be priced from $71,695.

Mercedes-Benz GL-Class

The current-generation GL-Class was unveiled at the 2012 New York Auto Show when it introduced a sportier appearance, an updated interior look and more powerful engines.

The GL-Class lineup includes three different models, kicking off with the GL350 BlueTEC powered by a 3.0-liter, V-6 diesel engine that produces 240 horsepower. The GL450 4MATIC gets a 4.7-liter, V-8 engine that produces 362 horsepower, and the GL550 4MATIC comes with a 4.7-liter, V-8 that produces 429 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque.
