Lincoln updated the MKX, the company’s premium crossover segment with elegant exterior design, an award-winning interior, and third party recognition for safety, quality, and technology. The brand’s first crossover is one part of a product strategy to round out the Lincoln showroom and continues to deliver with new features and equipment for the 2008 model year.

Ward’s Auto World magazine voted the 2007 Lincoln MKZ Lincoln MKZ and Lincoln Navigator Lincoln Navigator "Interiors of the Year". In the same day Lincoln received impressive recognition by J.D. Power and Associates in the latest Initial Quality Study (IQS). Lincoln unveiled the MKS Concept at the Detroit auto show in January and a production version is expected to be unveiled in 2009. The MKS will replace the Town Car on Lincoln line-up. The 2009 MKS will be powered by a V6 engine power and will feature front-wheel drive, six-speed transmission and a unitized body structure.

From the mid-90s to 200 Lincoln saled drop from 200.000 to 120.000 units. But in 2006, they were increased with 8.1% and with 6% in March. "It seems like this kind of retail performance might be more than a one-hit wonder. Lincoln might emerge as a much different brand than where we started two to three years ago." The 2007 Ford Edge Ford Edge and Lincoln Lincoln MKX crossovers have earned Top Safety Pick ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the first of a line of Ford Motor Company vehicles to benefit from the company’s strategy to accelerate the rollout of its exclusive roll stability control system and advanced crash protection systems. Ford has announced today their intention to remake Ford, Lincoln Lincoln and Mercury Mercury vehicle lineup by 2010. The new upgraded models will offer improved fuel economy, more striking designs, gains in quality, consumer -driven features and better value.
