This year in partnership with the Cadena racing team, Lotus entered eighteen rounds of the British GT3 Championship with the stunning new Lotus Sport Exige GT3 racecar. The season finished with the Lotus Sport Cadena Race Team being crowned British GT3 Team Champions, with one race still remaining from their inaugural season of competition.
Lotus Cars USA Inc. has announced the prices for 2007 line-up: the new 220-hp Exige S will start at $56,990 and the price for 190-hp Elise roadster will rise to $43,990 for ’07, up $1,000 from ’06.
The Exige S is a small lightweight sportscar weighing just 2057 lbs, powered by 218 hp high revving supercharged engine, giving a zero to 60 mph time of just 4.1 seconds.

Lotus Engineering, the engineering consultancy division of Group Lotus Plc has developed a bio-ethanol E85 version of the Lotus Exige
. The research vehicle is a true Lotus (it weighs just 930 kg unladen) and is called the Lotus Exige 265E. 265 indicates the approximate horsepower and is consistent with the naming strategy of other one-off and limited run Lotus variants such as the Lotus Sport Exige 240R; the E indicates the environmentally favourable bio-ethanol E85 fuel (85% ethanol alcohol and 15% petrol / gasoline) that powers this extremely high performing sportscar.
