Lotus unveiled today the official details on the hottest version of the Evora sports car. The new S version is set to make its world debut at the Paris Motor Show, next to the new Esprit. The Evora S comes with a sport pack as standard featuring a ‘sport’ button which allows the driver to control throttle response and activate the exhaust by-pass valve. The sport button also raises the instantaneous rev limit and changes the dynamic stability control settings resulting in a total experience change. There are cross-drilled brakes for improved cooling. The Evora S will be powered by a supercharged Toyota-sourced 3.5-liter V6 engine that will deliver a total of 350bhp and more than 300lb ft of torque. This means a sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 5.0 seconds and a top speed in excess of 172mph. However, it will be pretty hard to identify the Evora S, as it will only get a larger rear diffuser. The car is expected to be priced at £60,000 ($93,000 at the current exchange rates). Press release after the jump. Press release Ahead of the official unveil at the Paris Motor Show on September 30th, Lotus announce the latest evolution of the award winning Evora – the Evora S and Evora IPS (Intelligent Precision Shift) option.

The Lotus Evora does NOT use a diesel truck transmission. It uses the Aisin EA60 six-speed manual transaxle originating from the European Toyota Avensis diesel. The Evora is the world’s only mid-engine 2+2 sports car in current production. Go back a few decades and you’ll find that the Lamborghini Urraco, Maserati Merak and Ferrari Dino 308 GT4 beat Lotus to the punch as far as building mid-engined 2+2s.
If you have an American flag on a foriegn car - that is NOT patriotic. That is all !!!
Love Lotus. Have owned two Esprits. Will NEVER buy one with a Japanese engine. Won’t buy a German tub either. Both of those countries tried their best to kill my father during WW2. If they were successfull I would NOT be here. To young to even consider that? Look up the number of people killed by the war machines of these two countries. Fueled by industries still making cars today.
Last time I check Lotus, their cars can go 0-60 in less than 5, with the same power in Evora how come this car suddenly lowers it’s performance.
