luxury cars

Luxury cars are expensive and come in all shapes: sedan, coupe or convertible. They offer all the comfort, luxury and performance but you will have to pay premium price. German cars like BMW or Mercedes are the first brand that come to our mind but nowadays nearly all car makers offer nice and comfortable models that enter in the luxury car category.

Kahn Design again pulls out all the stops with its latest Land Rover Discovery . Equipped with the twin-turbocharged, 3.0-liter, V-6 diesel and a whole host of upgrades, this Discovery is truly unique. Another made-to-order example of Kahn perfection.

Outside the seven-passenger SUV, Kahn has added an aggressive aero package that includes a 3D mesh grille, beautiful gun-metal grey 22-inch wheels, vented front and rear air dams, stainless steel entry sill plates, and brake calipers finished in liquid red. LED light strips and privacy glass finish off the look.

As with each Kahn creation, the interior receives a great deal of attention. The plain Land Rover seats are gone. In their place are these exquisitely quilted and perforated leather seats for all seven passengers. The same leather treatment is given to each door’s armrest and atop the dashboard gauge cluster.

Swarovski diamonds encompass the center clock bezel while diamond-quilted leather covers the glove box. Vented aluminum brake and gas pedals ride above the unique floor mats, while a colored rpm gauge keeps close tabs on the 3.0-liter diesels spins per minute.

Even with all the modifications, the Discovery 4 still retains all those legendary Land Rover go-anywhere capabilities. Land Rover’s Terrain Response system includes five different settings for challenging obstacles and harsh climates. The four-corner air suspension provides a sporty ride while hitting the pavement and can be raised for tackling tougher territory.

Overall, the Kahn Design Discovery 4 offers enough style and bespoke luxury to suit those with finer tastes, as each vehicle is custom built for each buyer.

Porsche is further expanding its Panamera lineup with the addition of a new Turbo S version, that is more powerful and more luxurious than any other model in the lineup. It is offered in two version — Turbo S and Turbo S Executive — and will make its world debut at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show .

When compared to a Panamera Turbo , the new Turbo S version delivers an extra 50 horsepower, meaning that it will eat up track a little faster than the Turbo. What’s more, the new Turbo S is 11 percent more fuel efficient than the 2013 Turbo S model.

With the new Executive version, professional that do a lot of work in the back of their car can enjoy extra legroom, thanks to a 15 cm (5.9-inch) wheelbase increase.

On the U.S. market the new Turbo S is priced from $180,300 and the Executive version from $200,500.

Despite having its own auto show next month, Japanese tuner Wald International is making the trip to Las Vegas to attend another auto show.

Maybe it’s using frequent flier miles...

Whatever the case may be, Wald International will be in attendance at the 2013 SEMA Auto Show and it’s bringing its new program for the Porsche Cayenne to show American customers exactly how the Japanese roll when it comes to aftermarket tuning.

Full details surrounding the program have yet to be revealed, although you only need to take a long look at the photos to determine that it’s going to come with enough new components to render the design of the standard Cayenne irrelevant.

A wide-body kit is the obvious take-away from the program, of which it includes a new front bumper, revised side skirts, extended wheel arches, a new front splitter, LED lights and a ventilated hood. It’s interesting that none of these components are overly distinctive on the standard Cayenne, making this Wald International kit an essential addition to showcasing what the Cayenne can look like with a mean mug to complement its powerful engine.

Speaking of the engine, there’s no word on any performance upgrades so expect to see the same 4.8-liter, twin-turbo V-8 engine that produces 500 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque, allowing the car to hit 62 mph in 4.7 seconds to go with a top speed of 172 mph.

Jaguar XF

We’ve known for quite some time now that Jaguar has been hard at work on the next-gen XF . Despite the knowledge, this is the first time we’ve had the chance to catch a mule of the new XF — basically a current XF with the new drivetrain and chassis underneath — testing. Our spy photographers managed to catch this powertrain and chassis mule somewhere outside the Jaguar test center at Nürburgring .

The next XF will offer some major updates over the current model. First and foremost, it will move to a modular, aluminum platform that Jag is calling the iQ(Al) — the same platform also sees use under the BMW 3 Series . This change will make the new XF a lot lighter than the current model, which will make it more nimble and improve its fuel economy.

Under the hood, the engine lineup will range from a brand-new four-cylinder engine to a powerful V-8. The new platform is optimized for all-wheel drive, so we expect to see more AWD Jaguars in the future.

The new XF is expected to be revealed as a concept in 2015 with the production car to arrive in 2016.

A few weeks after Rolls-Royce unveiled the Phantom Ghawwass Edition for its Middle Eastern clientele, the British luxury marque is back at it again with a new creation straight out of its Bespoke Collection.

This particular model, which was commissioned by the company’s dealership in Dubai, is called the Phantom Bespoke Chicane Coupe.

To no one’s surprise, Rolls-Royce put the full court press on giving this Phantom its own list of luxury upgrades, as if the standard features aren’t already enough.

It’s got a two-tone matte black and gunmetal finish on the body that visibly shines under the sun. And yes, the interior looks pretty spicy with all that red leather, a Roll-Royce trademark that never seems to go out of style.

So what if the Phantom Bespoke Chicane Coupe doesn’t have any performance upgrades. The work done on making this Phantom as unique as can be is already mighty fine for our taste buds.

Onyx Concept is coming to the SEMA Auto Show and its bringing its long anticipated program for the Range Rover that will no doubt get its fair share of attention in Las Vegas.

The company’s CEO, Trevor Musgrave, has made no bones about his excitement for the flagship Range Rover Aspen Ultimate Series. Rightfully so, too, considering that the program comes with a comprehensive upgrade that covers the SUV ’s aesthetics and more importantly, its 5.0-liter, V-8 engine.

The exterior upgrades are no less stunning as they are effective. Carbon fiber was predominantly used on the new components, which includes new aero fins, pillars, front air dams, mirrors, and diffusers. Taken all together, it gives the Range Rover a 27 mm (1.06-inch) wider wheelbase .

Those elements come into play when you also take into consideration the engine upgrade Onyx Concept did to the SUV, increasing the output from its 5.0-liter, V-8 engine to an astounding 625 horsepower, 115 horsepower more than the standard 505 ponies the Range Rover has inside its belly.

The program will be showcased at the 2013 SEMA Auto Show together with the Aspen Rogue program, an equally impressive kit that we’re pretty excited to see too.

BMW X4

The striptease is on folks, and the X4 is on center stage showing off its sides, as it starts losing some camouflage. That’s right, our spy photographers caught the new BMW X4, X5 and X6 parked at the Nϋrburgring raceway, and it is wearing less camo than the last time we saw it.

Though this doesn’t reveal much about what’s going on out back — the part that really matters on this sweet-looking crossover coupe — it does give us an idea of the styling we can expect from the profile view. The side features a rising shoulder-line that seems to connect the front and rear door handles. We can also see that the lower parts of the doors have a nice scallop to them, helping add some sportiness to the upcoming addition to Bimmers lineup.

The front and rear ends are still under cover, but thanks to the earlier unveiled X4 concept, we know that this model will feature the new BMW face — to-the-grille headlights and the slightly forward-leaning kidney grille — unlike the recently shown 2 Series .

The only detail that we have on the back that the X4 will feature a large cargo hatch , like the X6.

The drivetrain lineup is still a mystery, but we assume that it will start out with a 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder with 240 horsepower, and the top trim levels will likely carry a 3.0-liter, in-line six-cylinder that starts around 300 horsepower and moves up from there.

Normally, European tuners don’t pay too much attention to an aftermarket show like SEMA , but every so often, some do make the trip across the pond. This year, one of Germany’s biggest tuning firms will be in attendance at SEMA, and it’s not only bringing a program to the event, it’s actually announcing its plans to expand its business into the U.S.

That’s right: ABT Sportsline is coming to America!

But before ABT officially sets shop in Los Angeles beginning next year, the German tuner will be at SEMA to introduce its new program for the Audi A6 .

Billed as the Audi AS6, ABT Sportsline’s programs for Audis have become legendary. The same can be said for this new AS6 program, which comes with a plethora of new aero components, including an ABT front spoiler, fender inserts, side skirts, carbon-look mirror covers and a rear spoiler that was installed in combination with a rear skirt kit.

As far as power upgrades are concerned, the AS6 also boasts an upgrade that turned the output of the A6’s 3.0-liter, TDI engine to an impressive 286 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque. That’s an impressive spike from the sedan’s original 240 horsepower and 428 pound-feet of torque.

As far as ABT Sportsline’s invasion of America, the company will be looking to put its stamp on Audis in America the same way it’s been able to do in Europe, where it’s considered one of the best Audi tuners.

“We look forward to being part of the SEMA’s 50th anniversary party," Hans-Jürgen Abt, CEO of ABT Sportsline, said in a press release. "With the ABT AS6, the more than 100,000 trade visitors at one of the globally most successful automotive fairs can see a perfect, detailed and dynamic total package."

Perfection is the name of the game with Kahn Design, and its latest creation is no exception. This beautiful Audi Q3 2.0 is a wonderful blend of performance and ruggedness, with a few custom touches that make it worth a head turn.

Starting with an Audi Q3, Kahn works its usual magic both inside and outside the all-wheel-drive crossover. The minimalist changes are a reflection of what the Q3’s owner and Kahn Design collaborated together to create.

The majority of changes have taken place inside the Q3, with the beautifully stitched, quilted and perforated seats to go along with red-faced instrument gauges. Outside, 20-inch RS-XF wheels in silver platinum are wrapped in 255/45R20 performance rubber with painted brake calipers shining through.

BMW’s Individual Program has given rise to some pretty unique vehicles over the years. Remember in the 90’s when the automaker decided to build a bespoke BMW 750Li for Karl Lagerfeld?

Fast forward to 2013 and once again, the 750Li has become the subject of another individualized creation from the Bavarian automaker. This time, the company is teaming up with Robbe & Berking, a silverware maker with a long tradition that spans back to the 19th century, to create the 750Li Sterling Robbe & Berking Edition.

The car itself doesn’t receive any outward aerodynamic modifications, but as far as giving it some luxurious aesthetic upgrades, BMW is guilty of doing so. In building the 750Li Sterling Robbe & Berking Edition, the company began by adding a bespoke exterior shade to the car while also recreating the a number of exterior and interior components using 925 sterling silver, including the badges, the front grille, door sill finishers, door handles and the interior décor.

Speaking of the interior, there are plenty of upgrades in the cabin to justify its unique billing. Notice that a crescent moon, a crown, and the Robbe & Berking logos appear prominently on the interior. Those aren’t accidents, but rather intentional homages as symbols for silver and Germany, respectively.

A fine-grain, Merino full-leather trim in Amaro Brown was likewise used on the seats with contrast Oral White piping. Rounding out the luxurious interior upgrades are the Alcantara headliner, a silver carafe at the back, and Robbe & Berking silver goblets.
