Luxury cars are expensive and come in all shapes: sedan, coupe or convertible. They offer all the comfort, luxury and performance but you will have to pay premium price. German cars like BMW or Mercedes are the first brand that come to our mind but nowadays nearly all car makers offer nice and comfortable models that enter in the luxury car category.

Miley Cyrus now knows what it feels like to get car jacked. The controversial 21-year old artist lost her 2014 Maserati Quattroporte after two burglars managed to infiltrate her North Hollywood home last Friday.

According to the LA Times, the burglars climbed the fence and then entered the home and garage, eventually getting away with the $100,000 Italian luxury performance sedan to go along with a handful of jewelry, the values of which have yet to be determined.

Fortunately, Miley wasn’t in her home when the burglary happened. Unfortunately, her 2014 Quattroporte was and by the time authorities were called in at around 4:00 pm local time, the merry pair of burglars had already escaped, jewelry and Maserati in tow.

If that Quattroporte is registered and has all the proper paperwork, it shouldn’t be too difficult to locate it. But it still sucks to be Miley Cyrus. Your home gets robbed twice in the span of eight months and they take your beloved Maserati Quattroporte.

Couldn’t they have taken those Hannah Montana posters instead?

The list of improvements customers can add to the powerful and stylish 2015 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupe just got bigger thanks to newly announced AMG Line kit. Just like the individual items and packages coming through the AMG Performance Studio , the AMG Line kit doesn’t meddle with the coupe’s engine, leaving the 5.5-liter V-8 and its 577 horsepower untouched.

However, the bundle comes with an array of exterior and interior upgrades that add to the S63 AMG Coupe’s aggressive personality. The vehicle’s front fascia changes dramatically thanks to a diamond grille that comes with white surrounds for the star emblem and with chrome pins covering the slats. Moving down the bumper, the slightly reshaped air intakes are joined by a chrome splitter that might come in handy at high speeds.

Alterations are less obvious around back, where a white diffuser replaces the black one found on the regular model, while the twin exhaust configuration leaves room for dual, rectangular pipes. A new set of side sills are also in place to make sure the coupe ditches its standard looks no matter how you look at it.

Every now and again, we get invites to quick test-drive events, and for the most part we simply ignore them. But when BMW invited us to test out the new 435i M Sport along with its nearest competitor, the 2014 Audi S5 , I would have been nuts to say "no." In one corner is the newest Bimmer with 300 horses coming from its TwinPower Turbo I-6 and all the cool little M Sport bits — brakes, wheels, suspension, etc. In the other corner is the tried-and-true Audi S5 with 333 horses and 325 pound-feet of torque.

This battle of German midsize coupes also includes a battle of power-generating philosophies. From Bimmer you have the new-age twin-scroll turbocharging system and from Audi you have the old, faithful supercharger. Many years ago there was no contest between the two, because the supercharger had no lag, while older turbos had serious lag issues, resulting in slower initial launches while the exhaust gases get the turbo spooling. The introduction of twin-scroll turbocharging and BMW’s perfection of the technology has rendered this a non-issue.

Both the 435i and the S5 are outstanding rigs and do the job of combining performance and luxury well without pushing the bounds of comfort like the wild RS5 and M4 . But which one is the victor in this quick, five-mile-long test in city traffic?

Mercedes has a history of enlisting famous celebrities to endorse its products. But none of them are anywhere close to awesome as the man the company tapped to promote the new GLA-Class . He may just be a plumber-by-trade, but this endorser is also a mushroom-stompin’, fireball-spewin’, Yoshi-ridin’, Princess Peach-savin’ bad-ass, the kind you wouldn’t want to mess with when he’s behind the wheel of a GLA-Class.

He is Mario, ladies and gentlemen and he’s coming for us all.

The new GLA-Class commercial featuring Mario is as different as it gets for an automaker. Last I played the game, I didn’t know that the Mercedes crossover could to run over mushrooms and jump over castles. Then again, last I remember, Mario was a tad bit pudgier than the overall-wearing dude that stepped out of the GLA. So we guess this is a bit of a dramatization...

But hey, Mario riding the GLA-Class. That’s how you tap into the child in all of us, Mercedes. And a 1-up for creativity...

Audi is adding to the number of A3 models that are available with the very efficient 1.4-liter, I-4, TFSI engine currently sipping gasoline in Europe. The impressive powertrain is now available in the four-door sedan, three-door hatch, five-door Sportback, and of course, the Cabriolet pictured above.

Audi is offering the engine with a choice of transmissions: standard six-speed manual or seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch. The highly engineered mechanics inside the engine allow for outstanding fuel efficiency to the tune of nearly 50 mpg on the European combined cycle. The engine’s carbon footprint is equally impressive, emitting only 175.4 grams of C02 per mile.

Though the engine does well at sipping fuel, it lacks somewhat on power. Its horsepower rating is listed at 150 and it propels the car to 62 mph in an underwhelming 8.1 seconds. Then again, 50 mpg is a pretty solid trade off for losing nearly every light-to-light drag race.

If torque is what’s needed, Audi also offers the 1.6-liter, TDI engine in the A3 Ultra. Making 110 horsepower, the turbo diesel consumes fuel at the sparse rate of 71.3 mpg. Its clean-diesel technology also keeps it from cutting holes in the atmosphere, emitting only 141.6 grams per mile. The TDI is available in both the four-door sedan and three-door hatchback versions.

Sadly, it seems Audi will be keeping these fuel-efficient models away from these United States, likely due to regulations and red tape.

In the pure German tradition surrounding the company, Porsche -built sports cars and SUVs are synonymous with perfection. Or at least they were until a few months ago, when some fire-related issues affecting the 911 GT3 began staining the company’s reputation.

As it turns out, the Stuttgart-based company has a new problem to cope with, this time in regard to the newly launched 2015 Macan crossover . According to statement released by the automaker, approximately 2,500 models delivered since the Macan went on sale need checked for potential brake booster problems.

The manufacturer didn’t share too many details, but it appears that an in-house quality test revealed some brake boosters fitted in the Macan might have been damaged during the assembly process. If you’re not familiar with the device, a brake booster is a mechanism than multiplies the energy applied by the driver to the brake pedal. Despite the possible issue, Porsche claims the crossover’s braking function still "complies with legal requirements."

Additionally, Porsche says the affected Macans were "predominantly" delivered to customers located in Europe, which means U.S. customers have no reason to be concerned until further notice. Nevertheless, Porsche will contact all owners to have their vehicles checked for free. Porsche will replace defective brake boosters at no charge to the customers.

I’d honestly not given the S5 much thought before this week. Why, when Audi offers up much flashier models like the R8, RS7, and upcoming TT? It wasn’t until I drove the 2014 S5 Coupe that I discovered this hidden gem in Audi’s lineup. It might not be the most powerful version of the coupe, but with 333 supercharged horses under its mile-long hood and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission sending power to all four wheels, I found myself finding excuses to go for a drive.

It hit me midway through the week that my black-on-black tester with satin chrome accents looks like something Bruce Wayne would drive when not fighting crime in the Batmobile. Its two-door architecture, sleek profile, and menacing color scheme lends itself for the perfect, if not stereotypical, wealthy bachelor’s car. The techno-filled cockpit further solidifies my thoughts as I found myself impressed with the level of refinement in Audi’s MMI infotainment system.

While the S5 might be better suited to a Bruce Wayne kind of lifestyle, it still performed decently enough when the time came to chauffeur the kids around. Yes, a full-sized child seat fits in the back seat. Ingress and egress was made easier by a quick-release lever on the front seatbacks that allowed the chairs to move forward without losing its last position. It afforded just enough room for crawling back to buckle the kiddo.

But a minivan this thing is not. The S5 is more at home on twisty, backcountry roads and making time on the interstate. Its demeanor changes with the driver’s mood – even without changing the Audi Drive Select system. The S5 makes a great grand touring car capable of long-distance travel and short distance track runs.

If there is anything Porsche loves more than creating cars that are amazing to drive , its allowing people to pay unheard of amounts of money to personalize them. The Porsche Exclusive program is one of the many ways that you can order a unique vehicle that is perfectly suited to your tastes and personal style.

Porsche has seen fit to release a Porsche Exclusive modified Panamera Turbo S on Facebook. The collection of photos gives us a good look at what sort of customizations are possible, and Porsche was even kind enough to include a list of changes and exclusive options with every still image.

Overall the car is very menacing, very beautiful, and very desirable. Although we don’t have a price, you can be sure its expensive. A base Panamera Turbo S rings in at more than $180k.

I would suspect you could take home a shiny new Ferrari 458 for the asking price of this powerful machine.

That said, this machine does come equipped with one of the most powerful engines Porsche has ever created, and will it blister most 911s and Caymans around a race track.

The upcoming Jaguar XE , the first BMW 3 Series competitor to come out of Britain, is still a long way from revealing its skin and engine lineup, but it appears the sedan is also in for a hotter version aimed at the more powerful M3 .

At least that’s the word from Auto Express, with the British outlet claiming the brawnier XE will carry an XER-S badge and a V-8 engine rated at 550 horsepower. That’s the same amount found in the F-Type R , which is motivated by a supercharged, 5.0-liter, V-8 mill.

Details are scarce at the time of this writing, but if that output proves to be true, the new M3 , which relies on just 425 ponies coming from a 3.0-liter, inline-six powerplant, will be in very big trouble.

Of course, we still have to take a look at the XER-S’ design before drawing any conclusions, but we’re expecting for a more aggressive body kit to come with that "R-S" lettering on the trunk and the extra power. There’s no word on when the XER-S is scheduled arrive, but we’re guessing it will hit showrooms by the end of 2016.

Updated 06/02/2014: Today we have created a very cool rendering for the upcoming Jaguar XER-S. Check it out after the jump.

Audi launched the sportier version of the A7 , known as S7, for the 2013 model year in the U.S., giving the quirky four-door a 420-horsepower V-8 to play with after just one year on the market. In 2014, the S7 received mild updates that included blind-spot warning, power folding mirrors and a stunning Black Optics package. Heading into the 2015 model year, the S7 is set for even more updates, as Audi is giving the model a facelift that includes new bumpers, tailpipes, headlights, and a revised Singleframe grille. Also included is an extra 30 horsepower over the 2014 model.

Audi introduced the A7 four-door coupe after realizing the success of the Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class in this niche segment. BMW followed Audi with its 6 Series Gran Coupe in 2013.

With Audi and BMW locked in a see-saw battle for the lead in luxury car sales in 2014, the German brand is doing all it can to end the year at No. 1. This includes a revamp of its low-volume A7 lineup, which includes the S7. U.S. sales of the entire A7 line were up 7.1 percent at the end of April 2014, and this redesign should help keep that pattern.
