Maserati Quattroporte S in action

One out of ever three Maseratis sold is in the U.S., and many of those are to southern California. So it only makes sense that the Italian carmaker chose the Los Angeles Auto Show to be the place to unveil its extra-potent version of its supersedan.

Now that the wraps have been officially taken off the Maserati Quattroporte S, the company has also released some new video of the car doing what it knows best, open roads.

The new model is powered by the 430hp 4.7-liter V8 engine. It is 30 more hp than the standard Quattroport and is the same powerplant as GranTurismo S. Remember to be careful where you view this video, there is a certain attraction to a Maserati.

2009 Maserati Quattroporte S - European pricing announced

Maserati announced the European prices for the 2009 Quattroporte and Quattroporte S. The ’old’ 4.2 litre 400 hp version, the standard Quattroporte has a price of € 166,992, while the new Quattroporte S is priced at €181,982. There are also two Executive GT versions, priced at €179,630 and €194,620. Sales will begin in September.

The Quattroporte S is powered by the 430hp 4.7 liter V8 engine first used in the GranTurismo S. Both cars feature the 6-speed automatic transmission developed in association with ZF.

The front-end features a new grille, with its vertical slats, is reminiscent of the GranTurismo. The front and rear light units are also updated, featuring LEDs. On the side, the under-door molding is more noticeable, with a line that runs into that of the new bumpers, which have a wider protective band and more pronounced rear styling.

Maserati Quattroporte S - video

After revealing the new Quattroporte and Quattroporte S, Maserati today revealed the first video of the cars.

The new Quattroporte is fitted with the 4.2 litre 400 Hp V8 engine, while the Quattroporte S adopts the new 4.7 litre 430 Hp V8 recently introduced on the GranTurismo S, with a different specification. Both cars have the 6-speed automatic transmission developed in association with ZF.

Maserati Bellagio Fastback production version limited to 25 units

At Concorso d’Eleganza Villa D’este, Carrozzeria Touring unveiled the Maserati Bellagio Fastback, a concept that now has been announced to go into production. The production version will be limited to only 25 units, each priced at 200.000 €, 85.000 € more than a standard Quattroporte. Sales will begin in the first trimester of 2009.

Bellagio is powered by a 4.2-liter V8 engine that delivers 400 hp and it makes the 0 to 60 mph sprint in 5.2 seconds and can hit a top speed of 171 mph.

Customers will be able to further personalize the Bellagio with different colors, interiors, materials and extras.



Maserati Quattroporte Facelift spy shots

The guys from Autospots.nl caught a facelifted Maserati Quattroporte at the Maserati hometown of Modena, Italy.

The current generation Quattroporte was launched in 2004, but now Maserati will have to change it if they want it to compete with models like Porsche Panamera and Aston Martin Rapide. Next generation Quattroporte is expected to be unveiled in 2012.

The spy pictures show a new front fascia of the car with new headlights, a new lower bumper and the grille seems to be slightly retouched with a less curvy top and bottom.

The Bellagio Fastback Touring made its official debut at the Villa d’Este Concorso d’Eleganza, in Italy. Based on the Maserati Quattroporte Sedan, Bellagio is powered by a 4.2-liter V8 engine that delivers 400 hp and it makes the 0 to 60 mph sprint in 5.2 seconds and can hit a top speed of 171 mph.

Carozzeria Touring Superleggera announced the car will go into production, as a very limited edition. Customers will be able to further personalize the Bellagio with different colors, interiors, materials and extras. According to the Italian coachbuilder “prices will be identical or even lower than equivalent sportscars”.

The Bellagio Fastback Touring forms a tribute to Maserati successful Quattroporte model. The most luxury Italian saloon car of the post-War period has in fact been transformed in a sports fastback with rear door and large loading space, to offer the market a top level sportcar, never realized before.

The Bellagio Fastback Touring has dimensions and performance identical to the saloon’s, it weighs only 50 kg more and doesn’t need particular homologations. It’s the ideal car for those who need a high standing and performance car also for leasure, able to accommodate four persons in maximum comfort and a series of sports equipments, luggages and whatever you need in your spare time. The Bellagio Fastback Touring can therefore be made to measure not only in colors, interiors and desired accessories, but also in tailor-made solutions for its owner: spaces for shotguns, ski, golf and all big objects in general.

2008 Maserati Quattroporte Bellagio Fastback

Behind this long, fastidious name there is actually a Maserati Quattroporte transformed into a station wagon by the Italian coachbuilder Carrozeria Touring Superleggera.

The Maserati Quattroporte Bellagio Fastback will make its debut t the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa D’este, April 25-27, at Lake Como in Italy.

The Bellagio Fastback will be launched as a part of Carrozeria Touring comeback, next to the Superleggera announced few weeks ago.

2008 Maserati Quattroporte "Collezione Cento"

From production through to sales, Maserati’s figures for 2007 speak for themselves: a production record was set in October, when 850 vehicles left the Modenese plant — equivalent to the annual production of just a few years ago — while December ended with a record of over 1000 vehicle registrations.
